why yes...I attended Juilliard, graduated from Harvard Business, enjoy long walks and meeting people, lived thru the black plague (had a pretty good time at that) I've seen the Exorcist 167 times.........and it keeps getting better everytime I see it.....
And I write nonsensical posts on D3 football. I am about a 70+% pick ratio and still cannot beat a LLama or a Kid....or anybody else unless they miss 3 weeks of picks ems

Does this mean we should start calling you Beetlergr?

"Well, guess I'm next. 'Bout time, too. I have a photo shoot with GQ in about an hour and a half. They've been trying to get me for weeks. Some underware thing or something..."

Nonsensical posts are the best - I like it. lol  +1

Tigers once again let a game go the wrong way that they could have won.  The defense will get better.  There were at least 3 Freshman and 4 Sophomores starting on defense Saturday.  The same thing happened in 2007 and there were 4 All-Americans among that group.

Now it is on to basketball.  HSC is 2-0 already.  I don't they will win the ODAC, but they will make some noise.

I can't figure the ODAC thing out. Centre is a good football team but would not dominat the ODAC.
That said, the ODAC does need to improve but with so many schools chasing the same talent I'm not really sure how that is going to happen; throw in the IAA programs, D2 programs combined with the large # of D3 schools in the Virginia/Carolina area there is so much competition for student/athletes. Don't know if other geographic areas are facing the same situation but I do believe it is a hurdle for the ODAC schools.

Thoughts

Centre beat the first and second place team in the ODAC and that is pretty impressive. Neither game was a blow out, but the second place SCAC team did a good job in both games. Personally I think there was a bit of luck involved in that they got both games at home. Of course, the reason they got the second game at home is because HSC laid an egg against R-MC, or I suppose you could say it was because W&L laid a first half egg against HSC.

Oddly enough, in both of those games the egg-layer was on the road. Add to that the only game Centre lost was Trinity... and Centre was on the road. The bottom line is when good teams meet, the home team, at this level, has a big advantage. So not only do you need to have good players, but you really need to get a little help through the schedule. Certainly W&L got it last year, which means this year was the reverse for the Generals.

That's part of the reason I think W&L had a really good season. They went on the road for what I consider 4 of their 5 toughest games, Centre, E&H, R-MC, and H-SC. The other game I'd include was the home win against Bridgewater. While W&L went 2-2 in those road games, they won both close and they lost both close. It wouldn't have taken much in any of those games for W&L to have gone 4-0 or 0-4.

Centre had a strong, senior team this year. The ODAC had 3 or 4 good teams and no great ones. Great ones would have found ways to win those road games.

Hello, Stone Station!

Just wanted you guys to know I have reserved my flight and hotel room and will be at  the Stagg again.  We are having the first birthday party for my grandson (the reason I did not make it last year) a week earlier.  Unfortunately it will be just me again as crualum39 will be preparing for his son's first Christmas.

Looking forward to seeing you and all the real D3 followers again!!!   ;D

Or you could say R-MC smashed its archrival and came up a few points short against W&L.

You can phrase it however you wish, but ever since everybody drug Bridgewater back to the pack, the ODAC has been a balanced league with several good teams and no great ones. Fun for regular-season competition, not fun for the playoffs.

Spoken like a true alum! And don't think I didn't see the late year discussion where you ranked 2 loss teams and snuck R-MC in above W&L... All that being said, W&L lost to a Pool C on the road, H-SC lost on the road to a team that was in Pool B consideration until the last week, R-MC lost to a 5-5 team at home...

I'm all for being proud of your team, but R-MC was pretty much out of the conversation after that. They had a pretty fortuitous conference schedule, only facing Bridgewater on the road from the top half of the ODAC, and still came up short. The win over H-SC was a good one, but the loss to E&H and a non-conf schedule that included 3-7 Methodist, 3-7 Averett, 6-4 Shenandoah, and 4-6 Frotstburg State, 16-24 overall with 3 USAS teams... R-MC needed to do better if you really want them in the conversation.

Of course, all that is dead and gone. Next year we try again and I am concerned how the Generals will reload. Quite a bit of senior leadership has headed off. With W&L and H-SC losing long-time starting senior QBs, we could very well see our third different ODaC champion in three years.

The Centre vs. Mount Union game was competitive for 3 quarters. HSC & W&L loss to a pretty good football team.

Agree - and Centre came pretty close beating Trinity on the road, too (I was there).

I was looking at yesterday's sports section of the Greensboro News & Record and took a quick glance at the section titled "DIII Football Playoffs".  All the schools, match-ups and records were correct (they took it directly from another source, of course), but sadly this week's "schedule" was all the games already played last Saturday.  Sad.  If you don't care enough to check the facts, get out of the "information" business!  :(

That's a great question Kid.  I was wondering the same.  It's going to be here before we know it.
