I'm still working on this one...

Two trains are 200 km apart, and travelling towards each other at 50 km/hour each.

From one train a fly takes off, flying straight above the rails to the other train at the speed of 75 km/hour, bounces off it and flies back to the first train.

This is repeated till the trains crash together and the fly is smashed (Headline: Fly Dies in Freak Train Crash)

What distance is the fly able to fly until its meet its tragic end?
Since it will take 2 hours before the trains crash and the fly is doing 75 km/hour, the fly will travel 150 km.
hmm...one hour in, the train coming toward the fly will have advanced 50 km and the fly will have advanced 75 km...collectively the fly and train are traveling at 125 km/hr, so i don't think that 150 km is correct...the fly will collide with the train before it (the fly) gets to the 150 km mark - i'm going to say the fly travels 120 km before the initial collision with the train, but calculating the rest of the distance traveled by the fly is impossible unless we assume that the fly is still traveling at 75 km/h

assuming that the fly continues to travel at 75 km/h, it will be 40 km away from the other train at the first collision, the fly travels back toward the second train at 75 km/h while the train travels toward the fly at 50 km/h - if my calculations are correct, the fly will travel another 12.8 km before striking the other train, at which time the train collision will be just minutes away...rounded up i'm going to say 135 km

D O.C. - am i close?

If a kid is recruited by SEC schools, he is a highly touted HS player; that's a given. Nash is doing the best he can and will continue to improve with each game he plays. GC vs. HSC on Saturday, I hope both teams play well and the best team wins. Save traveles to HSC if you plan to attend and good luck to your Quakers !!!!

Whew, been a long week.... catching up to do.

I disagree with the above being a given. It isn't a given. Read what all the UT fans had to say. He was a highly scrutinized QB by his association with Da'Rick (5 star recruit). So even with all the attention, he ended up a Rivals 2 star recruit. The entire SEC only recruits 5% "2 stars" a year. So looks more like a 2 star simply by association. Highly unlikely the recruited 5th QB on roster is highly touted. Wasnt touted by HSC either... his dad called and it was done deal.

Just want to call it what it is... with both teams with same conference record, would be more accurate to say the game is the average dIII qb vs. Quakers freshman QB. One brings average to his team, the other adds to the teams success.

Obviously, let the best team win (or one who lets up the least amount of mistakes)

Lets see a kid that leads the ODAC in TD passes, passing yards, and total offense is average. That's just a dumb statement. I know he also leads in INTs. But he also leads in passes thrown. I don't think most people looking at the GCQ QB would think he's average. I think most would think he's very good. Well if your guy's good, ours is pretty damn good too. .

Has far as "touting" goes Guilford college is the only school in the ODAC that regularly sends press releases to d3football.com as to what players they have signed. HSC did not have any press releases about Nance coming to HSC. All of that came from UT. The first and only release from HSC that I am aware of is an article that listed ALL incoming recruits. That was on the HSC athletics website. No bio info just name and position for all incoming players.

Nance has lived up to his billing. We as fans would not trade him for anyone else.

I have no idea where you are coming from relative to the qb situation and I'm not going to debate other than to say I disagree with most everything you've stated. The GC vs HSC game is not about the qb's its about the 22 guys on the field for each team. Football is the ultimate team game, always has been/always will be. Again, may the best team win.

It's a good thing to love your QB HS. You can't trade hime anyway. This week is a great matchup between Guilford and HS and I look forward to both teams playing well. HS's QB is good for 2 picks per game so I hope that doesn't decide the outcome.

I think this is the first time since I've been active on this board (ODAC specific) I've seen a group of fans really trying to hammer a specific player. I'm not real sure what the deal is with the Guilford group, and it's great to have pride in your team having a better than expected season, but there is no need to go after another team's specific player.

Nash has been a fine qb, if not better than that, for HSC so far this season. It was perfectly legitimate for HSC fans to be fired up that he transferred to their school. So far I have seen from him what I expected to see, namely big numbers driving HSC's passing offense.

As for Guilford's young qb, he shows good promise and is having a nice season. If his pace continues I see no reason he won't win Newcomer of the Year and deservedly so. If he, and the team, continue to improve I expect big things from them going forward.

We can recognize both young men and the good they are doing for their teams without saying one "brings average to his team" or other subtle insults. This board has always been civil. Magnanimous in victory, hopeful in defeat. I would be very disappointed to see that change.

A public news release is not the only way a player can be touted.

Lets get a hold of the NFL right now and stop this stuff about Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady and most recent Payton Manning vs. Drew Breeze. This is football folks and its a knock down drag out fight to the end with a few cuss words thrown in between players. Folks are drinking beer in the parking lot at the tailgate, what? beer? If you want a tennis match, go watch that or comment on that board. This is the big matchup of the ODAC this week, 3 time ODAC Player of the week FRESHMAN "PAWS" Pawlowski vs. SOPHOMORE  D1 Nash Nance. The story doesn't get any bigger in the ODAC this week. Its football folks, there will be butt kicking going on on both sides. Sorry, not prim and proper.

NFL15

Nance has 17 touchdowns passing  and 1 rushing for 18 td's
Pawlowski has 15 touchdowns passing and 3 rushing for 18 td's

HOW BOUT THAT?

My, what an interesting email address you have, NFL15.

Well, we had last year's QB's dad posting here. No reason we can't have this year's QB's dad posting too.

I hate to lay the trump card, but since it is a TEAM game....

Nash Nance -- 5-2 against a schedule that has an SOS of 108
Pawloski -- 4-3 against a schedule that has an SOS of 165

Against below average competition, (240 teams in D3, SOS of 165), Pawlowski has managed to do just about what Nance has managed to do against above average competition...

Your son is good and you can be proud of him without trying to tear down HSC's qb.

Given the results in the past 12 years (which includes the Vogelbach era), the fact that Guilford is such a young team and this year's venue (at HSC!), I think prudent Guilford fans should go into tomorrow's game with confidence, but not a lot of bravado.  Let's see what the "teams" can do between 1 pm and 4 pm.
