Not much of a contest today in farmville. It was clear which qb was better and hsc's o line paved the way for 257 yds rushing.  Really crazy how the ODAC works...guilford beats Macon, Macon smacks catholic, catholic handles hsc, hsc dominates guilford...guilford beats bwater who beats w and l...just wild.

Nonetheless, another HUGE game between the tigers and generals next week!

W&L and H-SC for the third straight year becomes critical. Nice to see W&L bounce back and get another road win. I didn't see the game because I went down to see Wesley top Huntingdon. If you are the ODAC champion, you DON'T want to get sent to Wesley in round 1. That team will be a monster if they play up to their size and athletic potential. My thoughts on that game are over on the AFCA/Independents page.

Not sure what that says about UMHB, but I know it says the ODAC I've watched this year is going to struggle if they are a 7/8 seed in the South as is likely with a 2 loss champion.

3 time ODAC Player of the week FRESHMAN "PAWS" Pawlowski vs. SOPHOMORE  D1 Nash Nance. The story doesn't get any bigger in the ODAC this week. Its football folks, there will be butt kicking going on on both sides. Sorry, not prim and proper.

Sorry NFL15/Mr. Pawlowski but the only butt kicking came on one side of the ball today.

I think you we're also nice enough to point out the TDs by both Pawlowski and Nance. The total prior to kickoff or should I say prior to you running off at the mouth was 18 18. After IT MATTERED Pawlowski 18 Nance 23.

ROY = Nash Nance. Or as Guilford_Fan says HSC's "average QB".

One last things the best "Paws" on the the field today the the paws/hands of Holton Walker - 10 catches for 170 yards and 2 TDs.

QuoteWINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University saw Randolph-Macon score 11 points in a 93-second span Saturday afternoon to steal a 27-24 ODAC football victory over the Hornets.

Shenandoah (1-7, 0-5 ODAC) held a 24-16 lead after senior Qiydaar Murphy hauled in a 33-yard TD pass from Corey Taylor, but Macon (5-3, 3-2) had an answer.

Will McGhee capped a five-play, 70-yard drive with a nine-yard TD run at the 1:34 mark, and after SU threw an interception on its ensuing possession, Josh Storm kicked a 20-yard field goal with one second remaining to win it for the 'Jackets.

Randolph-Macon had missed a pair of field goals, from 42 and 33 yards, prior to Storm hitting the kick from the right hash.

Following McGhee's TD run, Macon QB Zach Naccarato hit Zach Midulla with a successful two-point conversion - Midulla snatched the ball just before a Hornets defender could make a play on it and then fell into the end zone with the game-tying points.

The 'Jackets needed the late game heroics as SU led 17-3 at halftime thanks to Taylor's arm and legs. Taylor opened the game with an 80-yard TD strike to classmate David Bell and after R-MC had cut the deficit to 7-3, ran for a 15-yard score on a 4th and 2 on the first play of the second quarter.

Macon scored two consecutive touchdowns, missing the PAT on the second, to make the score 17-16 with 7:36 remaining.

Shenandoah then went 64 yards in eight plays, capped by the Murphy TD catch, to take the eight-point advantage.

Macon finished the game with 449 yards in total offense to the Hornets' 357. Taylor was 10 for 19 for 279 before sitting out the fateful final drive with an injury.

Murphy had 169 yards receiving on six catches with Bell chipping in 114 on three.

McGhee had 158 yards rushing on 22 carries for the Yellow Jackets.

SU begins a two-game road trip to finish the season next Saturday at Emory & Henry.

Well I can't say I'm surprised at the H-SC crowd getting a few digs in, but can we let it go now? I think Mr. P has left the board at least for the moment and H-SC proved on the field what was necessary. Let's remember that Guilford has been pretty bad the last few years and their fans might have gotten a little over-excited after a couple wins. It happens.

Nice job taking care of business by H-SC and W&L. R-MC got it done, keeping my 0-fer-ODAC prediction alive for our newcomers. Thank you for not dropping that egg on my face.

Next week will be important in Lexington. I hope the Generals D is up for the challenge, I think the offense won't sleep through the first half like they did last year. Please don't let the first half go like it did last year...

Come on JK, what happened to enjoying a win for 24 hours and then letting it go?   ;)

Should be fun next week.

The Tigers had a great game today.  Obviously, the most complete game of the season.  I hope they are peaking at the right time.  They will need a comparable effort to have success this weekend.  I was impressed with the level of talent on the Guilford team.  They have good speed at running back and the defensive line played hard all day.  Both teams played hard.  The difference in the game was that the HSC offensive line dominated the line of scrimmage and the corners for Guilford were a little undersized.  HSC ran the ball when they wanted to and played over the top in the passing game.  Hampden Sydney's defense played like they had something to prove today as well.  Having seen each HSC- Guilford game since 2007, I would say that this team is improved over the most recent ones.  Even though the score was not as close as some of the games, this team had more talent at more positions than others that I have seen.

Good luck the rest of the season Quakers.

Thanks, HSC85.  Perhaps GC can continue to improve and give the Tigers a closer game next season.  I tried to caution about giving HSC bulletin board material.  :)

Hey D3board, I am seeing all theses post directed at the QB dad for the Quakers. That would be me. I don't mind any of the post that are listed and I don't see anything wrong with some excitement from some fans or other parents. My son is an NCAA Football Player so that makes him fair game in the media or message boards. Guilford College has come along way this year and we can build on that in the future. I hope to see some of you at the upcoming games.

I noticed one post said the old quarterback dad has posted in the past, why not the new QB dad as well. I don't have alot to say on this board but I am very proud of my son for helping his team win a few games. It can only get better from here for all the GC Fans.

Best Regards

You should be very proud of your son. He is having a good year, and Guilford is turning things around.

This is an interesting sports forum, not much smack talk.

it is where we can talk about football in a positive way.

i hope u come back and participate, its a good group.

It's weird that this doesn't really acknowledge his previous postings. I do wonder what the son feels about the dad posting on these sites in such a way.

This is fine and all but you need to stick with one name.

It is with great sadness that I will be deactivating my accoung. PG04 you are correct, I did not know this board wasn't for player parents to have some fun on and isn't it WEIRD we don't know your name. Tigerfan, you have the TD's wrong, 20-23 Sorry. As I said, I am proud of my son and I would also like to congratulate Nash Nance for a great game and ODAC Offensive player of the week. He should be on track for 1st team all conference. Good Luck and Good bye.

Many people know pg04's name. If you were here for more than a day or two at a time you might find these things out.

You can certainly post. But don't claim to be someone you're not, don't cut and run when you run your mouth too much. If you can't stand the heat, though, then you are best to stay out of the kitchen.
