Interesting. With the Regional Rankings out today, W&L and/or HSC caught a bit of a break. Both are regionally ranked. That should help with playoff seedings. If W&L wins, and Centre wins this weekend, W&L will most likely have 2 wins against RROs, a good position to be in. If HSC wins, they will have 2 results against RROs, W&L and Huntingdon (1-1), not as good, but better than I expected.

Based on these Regional Rankings, I could see W&L as high as a 5 or 6 in the South (depending on a massive number of variables), avoiding UMHB and Wesley or one of the better East teams in round 1. HSC will not be as lucky if they win out, looking more like a 6 or 7. I still think the USAS winner gets the really unpleasant duty.

W&L's SOS has them sitting in a good position for a 2 loss team. HSC's is much more pedestrian this year.

That three point loss to Huntingdon will not go away. Had the game won and let it get away !!!!
We'll worry about the playoff pairings only if there is a need however I don't think W&L nor HSC will be happy with that reality.

If history is our guide, the ODAC will only get one team.  The loser of the W&L/HSC game will have three losses.  The ODAC also hasn't won a playoff game in a while ....

Hasa their is no doubt the ODAC will only get their "A" this year. There won't be a 3 loss "C" selection.

As for where the ODAC champion ends up, they have no one to blame but themselves. W&L had a good shot at closing out F&M and couldn't and didn't show up at Bridgewater. HSC had a chance to beat Huntingdon and didn't, and didn't show up vs Catholic.

There just isn't room for these kinds of losses with 10 game seasons. Oh well. The ODAC Champion will just have to make the best of the situation. My best case is the ODAC champion goes to Waynesburg (A 4-5 matchup I think). Worst case is a trip to Wesley (2-7 matchup). Either a west island team or USAS champion is going to be sacrificed to UMHB (1-8). The NJAC champ is unlikely since Cortland is too far, Salisbury has too many losses even if they get in as a "C" to host, the MAC champion or JHU would be two other plausibles.  Not pretty to go to those either. Lots of variables. Too many if they go with 4 team pods like they did last year.

W&L to Cortland is 460 miles, which is not too far. H-SC to Cortland is over 500 miles, though, so that is too far.

That's what I get for making an assumption! I never would have thought that would have been within 500 miles...

Yep -- up 81 to Harrisburg, then U.S. 15. It's an awful drive. Trust me.  :-\

Perhaps it's a bad drive, but I'd prefer that for the ODAC champ to going to Wesley. The ODAC is in desperate need of a first round victory. Been too long. But it isn't going to come at Wesley from what I saw at the Wesley - Huntingdon game. I really don't want to think of the ODAC champ getting shipped to Belton. Thankfully I think the USAS bails us out there. Johns Hopkins, the MAC champion, Cortland, I'd prefer. And if you have any pull with the committee, I wouldn't mind trying Waynesburg if they win out!

Did u make it to HSC last weekend ?
No, I didn't.  My work schedule is brutal right now and I've had several of my direct reports out, so I decided I couldn't spare that much time.  If luck is with me, I do hope to drive to E&H on Nov. 10.

I appreciate it.  I was going to PM you if I could come.  This has been a rough fall for me with work and other activities.  In addition to my day job, I teach a few classes through NC A&T SU and I have Quaker Club duties too.  The candle is definitely burning on both ends ... :)

Good advice.  Going to South Korea again in December - perhaps I can pick up some Far Eastern meditation technique - doubtful I'll be able to drive the Nova there.  :)

I havent viewed this site for quite a while because it was clear that my opinion wasn't welcome.I was floored to see that we are still being mentioned in these discussions and don't understand why we are still a topic of discussion. To clarify, I am last years GCQB father and I couldn't be more proud of Zac. He handled this year much better than I did. I was not angry because he was beat out by another good QB. I was angry that Barnette and Rusiewics treated him like garbage on a daily basis and purposely ran him off the team because he didn't fit into their plans. Barnette cussed at him and tried to humiliate him at every turn. He is a great kid and we are all happy to be done with Guilford College football. This has been a tough year all the way around.

Last friday my youngest son and Zac Halbert's 13 year old brother collapsed and died in the cafeteria of his middle school. He was dead for 10-15 minutes but a school employee used a defibrulator to get his heart beating. He was air lifted to Levine Childrens Hospital in Charlotte and died again during the flight. He was revived again and spent four days in a coma. I am writing this from his hospital room. We, as a family, are involved in the most serious fight of our lives and Zac does not need to see his name on this board ever again. My name is Buddy Hqalbert and I am the proud father of Zac Halbert. Please leave us out of the discussions on this board.

I have kept up with the Guilford team as we have many kids who are close family friends still playing. Zac and I both think that Matt Palowski is having a great year and has a bright future ahead of him. As a former Guilford player I wish nothing but the best for the kids at Guilford College. We would appreciate your prayers for my son Tanner Halbert and again would ask that we not be pulled into the discussions as we have severed all ties with Guilford College football.

Best wishes to Tanner and the entire Halbert family.  Peace
