Congrats to Luke Heinsohn, Coach Abell, and W&L's myriad of first, second and third team all ODAC players. Good luck Luke Heinsohn with the Gagliardi award. Heck of a season to cap a heck of a career.

Congratulations to all the ODAC award winners. I'm already looking forward to the next ODAC football season.

Guys -- hoping we can get some fan support for Luke Heinsohn in the Gagliardi Trophy voting. He's had a great career and a great season. If you aren't partial to one of the other candidates, I'd appreciate a vote for Luke this year. It's really great to see an ODAC athlete recognized this way.

In reading his bio, he's quite an impressive guy on and off the field.

At this stage Hasa, they are all impressive guys. Every one of them deserves to be recognized. I highly doubt Luke will win, but I'll try and drum up some support for him for the small part of the voting that is fan based.

You're right, I recognize they're all impressive men.  I did read the bios - all deserving.

Yes. And while I appreciate the "fan vote", I'm glad that it is only a small percentage. I'd hate for the award to be a popularity contest even though I am attempting to help Luke win the small part that is!

A note to my Stone Station friends and those friends from other schools I have met at the Stagg Bowl.  I am sorry I will not be able to make the Stagg Bowl this year.   :P

I have scheduled another rather expensive vacation for the end of December and the beginning of January and cannot justify the expense of going to the Stagg.  While I will definitely miss the game and all my friends, if you click on the link below, I think you can see why I am looking forward to my son and I going on vacation.  Everyone stay safe and I will see you again in the future!

It looks like fun except for the sea sickness I would have in a boat not designed to hold 2,000 passengers, 4 pools, 2 dining rooms and meals other than fish!!  Do they dress the fish for you after the photos should you get a big one?  My Papa loved going out on the ocean to fish and my Dad made the mistake of going with him once.  He was green even when he got home to the mountains.  You'all have a grand time.  I'll cheer for UMHB when they get here.  Joe Jackson who used to coach there now coaches at BC.  He was with them the last time they were up!  Maybe Ralph T should come and represent the great state of Texas this time?

roo my friend, going to miss you again this year.  hopefully one of our teams will make it and i can cheer for them instead of someone else this time.  enjoy and happy holidays to you and your family.

Weasleydad:  congrats on how the team is doing!!!!  Man, they're blitzing their opponents as if the other team aren't even  there.  Will they make to the big game.  Gotta get some dark blue nail polish just in case.  Got my room at the Quality inn, my ticket on the 50 yd line, my tickets to the Gagliardi banquet and to the Championship dinner.  I'm all set.  I almost wasn't going to come because my kids (UWW) weren't going to be there.  I still am not as excited about going as normal.  Usually I have bought my tickets way back in early November, but I just bought them today.  There are still 4 teams with promise:  LINFIELD, Wesley, UMHB, UWO, and, of course, UMU.  Three purple teams, a blue and I don't remember @ UWO (blue & yellow maybe).

Hey D3football.com. Have you heard anything on the search for Shenandoah finding a new coach? When do you think a new head coach will be hired?

Hard to believe that MHB, MU & Wesley continue to beat teams so badly in the round of 16. I often wonder if it makes more sense to have an 8 team field and eliminate all of the bad beatings leading up to the round of 8. Back in the day only 8 teams made the field and I'm sure there was a reason. Certain schools have distanced themselves from most of the D3 world and it doesn't seem like there is any way for 99% of D3 schools to catch up but I do enjoy watching them try.

We definitely have a tiered effect in D3. It's pretty pervasive across many sports, not just football. Given the governing strictures of D3, I don't expect it to go away any time soon.
