Thanks for the info. I look forward the visit. Never been on the CNU campus but I hear it is beautiful.
I'm certain the game will be competitive. I know it is early but what type of success do you project for CNU for the 2013 season ? I think HSC will be better than the 6-4 record posted last year; just don't how much better 8-2 or 7-3 is my guess.

Honestly not sure about this season. Last season was just weird. I do know that after CNU has a 6 win season, they bounce back pretty well. Last year was strange in that we came in to the year with 3 QBs who each played well before injury the year before and we end up going with a different guy altogether. I expect he will be the starter this year. But the coach is so tight lipped, even when I buy him beer!!! Often CNU will have a player seemingly come out of nowhere. Let's see who that will be this year!

What about HSC? Stars returning? New guys? Skill position transfers from Michigan or Notre Dame? Bahaha.....the QB last year killed us!!!

If anyone is visiting at Guilford this season, let me know.  I always appreciate the opportunity to meet posters from this forum. :)  Fifty-seven days!

Slow year on the transfer deal; only got 2 SEC guys coming as opposed to the five we thought we going to get !!!!!!

Not certain about the stars at the point, obviously Nash Nance(QB) past that time will tell. All in all, HSC should be better on both sides of the ball. Look forward to the 9/14 match up.

New to the board, but looking forward to reading about all the ODAC football teams.  Our son is a QB and will be playing at BC.  We are excited to be new Eagle fans and look forward to seeing the new turf on the field.

Welcome to the boards, and best of luck to your son as he starts his time with the Eagles.

Welcome to the boards. It's usually a pretty good group though I think many of our past BC participants have tailed off. Hopefully we'll get a few back if BC shows up as strong as some of us think they will be this year.

Welcome to the board. BC should be good this but do have a tough ODAC away schedule. That can always be a problem. Enjoy the 4 years with your Son playing, they do go by very fast.

Isn't that the truth.

I was told recently the NCAA is considering forming a D4 division. Is this true ? What is the purpose and what will it look like ?

Pat Coleman

There are no current plans to subdivide Division III. The last effort was roundly dismissed in 2008 when a survey of Division III schools showed 82% preferred the current structure.

D3football.com preseason poll is up. Only ODAC team listed is W&L in the receiveing votes area. Wabash at 25 got 46 points, W&L toward the bottom of the receiving votes area got 13. Personally I think that probably came from two or three ODAC type voters. I think, as paltry as this ranking is, it is pretty high for W&L. The Generals lost a lot, a real lot, after last season. While they pleasantly surprised me last year bouncing back after losing the best qb they had in a long time, I'm not sure they can bounce back again losing the two main running backs, a key piece of the oline, a key linebacker and a key defensive back. That represents a ton of the leadership and skill that helped drive W&L's recent success.

All that being said, the ODAC has a tradition of sorts of letting the previous champion come in to the season as the preseason favorite, so I'm not surprised they would have garnered any votes from ODAC voters. Plus, with two championships in 3 years, and a near miss in the middle, they probably earned the benefit of the doubt. The loss to Hobart wasn't the blowout their previous NCAA games have been, so maybe a bit more recognition as well, although that's hard to buy into.

I'll say it again, I just don't see W&L as the class of the ODAC, let alone a top 40 or 50 team in the nation. Hopefully I'll be surprised once the season starts but as it stands right now, I don't see them making an appearance in my thoughts about the pre-season top 10 south region teams.

You're doing a very good job of down playing the 2013 W&L squad !!!!!  They might not be as talented as last year, but the ODAC is still going to have problems stopping the option so I see W&L as a real threat to repeat as ODAC champs. I do think
the secondary is not going to be nearly as good and that is not going to help, but I'm not discounting them.

W&L, HSC, RMC & BC (in no particular order) will fight it out. Last two weeks of the season will determine champ.
