FYI I will be back at W&L in the Winter after this season at CUA to finish my Economics and Business Administration degrees and graduate on time this spring. I was smart enough to get in to W&L so obviously I'm not dumb enough to forgo a degree from there just to play in a spread ;) Looking forward to Kickoff today and the season starting next week!

Good luck Alex. I'm glad to see you'll finish your degree in Lexington and hope the season works out for you, except for 11/2 of course! Thanks for the past 3 years. It's been great to watch.

Well played, Mr. Evans.  Good luck with both your football and academic careers.

Thought you ODAC guys might like to know that Joe Nichols' "If Nobody Believed in You" video from 04 has a W&L sticker on the back of a car.

Never knew that. But I don't spend much time on CMT either. +1 for trivial W&L related info
If one of our ODAC posters had a weak moment, which, of course, they never do, someone might reply, "Isn't that a bit redundant, since we've been taught all "W&L related info" is trivial?"  Just kidding, Generals!  Love ya, mean it.  +1 for jknezek for, generally speaking, being a good sport.  :)
From the lofty heights of 260+ years of educational excellence, sometimes its just hard to connect with the plebeians below!   :P  Now where is my shirt that says "Washington and Lee University IS the university of Virginia"  ;D

And yes, I couldn't type that out on my iphone since it kept trying to change plebeians to lesbians... Modern technology...
Guilford may only have 176 years of "academic excellence", but shouldn't that be "it's" since you clearly meant the contraction for "it is" and not the possessive form "its"? And speaking of your iPhone's penchant for trying to change plebeians to lesbians, at least it didn't try to change it to Presbyterians or Phlebitis!  Our "Guilford IS the Quaker college of NC" shirts pale in comparison.  We stand in awe of your inner light.  :)  All kidding aside, and written as a native Virginian, W&L is a terrific university!

You got me on the contraction. My academic excellence long ago gave up the ghost when typing on message boards and emails! Fortunately I can still spell Dubya N El when it counts.

Good grief today is turning into a slow day...

I know it. No worries here. We do better than most boards at keeping it fun and active and it's one of the reasons I read all the posts. Seeing the Alex Evans post was certainly interesting this a.m. We don't get too many active players and it was much better than the battle of the former Guilford QB dad last year. But I have to say, lets just get the season started already!

"Let's".  Sorry, I couldn't resist.  :)  I agree, "let us" get the football season started.

We've been quiet lately.  It's funny how that works.  Looking forward to a great season.  I know Bridgewater reported 161 to camp.  Quite the numbers.  I need some Bridgewater help.  I can't do it myself.  I've been lurking for a number of months.  I'm back Baby!!!!

Hasa -- take a look in Kickoff. Considering no ODAC team has won in Lexington in 3 seasons, Kickoff is putting it on the line for the Quakers 10/5.

I will.  Thanks.  I spoke with one of the GCQ assistants yesterday as I was "gearing up" at the bookstore.  He was "cautiously optimistic".  He said we were improved and more experienced over last year, but knows (my assumption, not his words) we're not yet one of the favorites.  My opinion:  I think 6-4, 4-3 would be considered a good season ... anything more would be great.  I'd really like to top W&L and would especially like to catch HSC - that monkey's been on GC's back since 1999!

No, I'm done.  One man can't battle 260+ years of academic excellence alone.  :)  On a football note, I was also glad the GC QB issue finally died down last year.  Number 15 was ODAC ROY, so perhaps the Coach's talent decision was validated.
