Been a Bama fan all my life. Will get back to following them when my kids finish playing; until then I'll keep up them via ESPN.

You aren't alone and ESPN will be happy to cater to you. Since moving to B'ham I've been out to Bryant Denny for one game. That was more than enough but at least I can say I did it. When I lived in FL I got to one Miami, Fl State and Florida game, when I was at W&L I got to one TN and one Va Tech game. I haven't gotten to Auburn yet, mainly because I couldn't get tickets during Cam's rental, didn't get a chance the year after, and had no desire to sit in an empty stadium last year.

Anyway I cut it though, I prefer the D3 games. Thankfully there are a few more around me now than when I lived in FL, but I wish I had a dozen games within a 2 hour drive to pick from. My wife might kill me if I went every week, but I wouldn't mind going regularly.
I went to the Auburn game two weeks ago. My first one in ten years. That probably took care of me for at least another ten years. Like you, I much prefer the D3 games now. Actually went over to LaGrange for my first non-Huntingdon D3 game last week.

How was Lagrange's facility? We were over that way camping on the big lake a few weeks before the season started. Didn't even think of going to check it out. I'm still thinking I'll be coming down to visit the Hawks next week when La Col comes in. My mother in law will be in town, so I can head out of town that Saturday without causing ripples. The next week we're going to tailgate in the motorhome at BSC for the Wesley game. That should give me my fix for a bit.

On the "bucket list" of college games (and some more like the kid's "sand pail" list), I've been fortunate enough to see at least one game at all these college venues:

Appalachian State, Averett, Bridgewater, Catawba, Clemson, Davidson, Duke, Elon, Emory and Henry, Ferrum, Greensboro, Guilford, Lenoir-Rhyne, Mars Hill, Methodist, North Carolina, NC State, Ohio State, Salem (Stagg Bowl), Salisbury, South Carolina, Tennessee, VMI, Wake Forest, Washington and Lee, Western Carolina and Wingate.

I've seen up close the stadiums at The USAF Academy, Bethune-Cookman, Brevard, University of Buffalo, Cameron (OK), Carson-Newman, Charleston Southern, The Citadel, Coastal Carolina, Concord (WV), Dubuque, East Carolina, Fresno State, Frostburg State, Furman, Georgetown (KY), Georgia, Georgia Tech, Grove City, Hampden-Sydney, Holy Cross, Jackson State, James Madison, Kentucky, Knox, Linfield, Loras, Marshall, Millsaps, Minnesota, Minnesota-Duluth, Missouri, Newberry, NC A&T, NC Central, North Greenville, Northwestern, Ohio University, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Presbyterian, Princeton, Randolph-Macon, Rice, Rhode Island, Richmond, San Diego State, SC State, SMU, UT-Chattanooga, Tennessee Tech, Vanderbilt, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Washington, Washington and Jefferson, West Virginia, Willamette, Winston-Salem State and Yale.

There may be others, but those come to mind ... I'd be interested in seeing the lists of others.  :)

It's a really nice facility. It's actually city owned and the high school also plays there too. They upgraded and put in nice turf when LaGrange started their program.
If you make it to Montgomery next week look me up in the tailgating area. Should be in the same vicinity as last year.

Impressive list but I'm more impressed with your memory.
You had UVA on that list; I didn't know they played football !!!!
It is really hard to be a D1 fan living in Virginia.

Places I've seen football games:

DI -- Rutgers (I grew up in NJ), Va Tech, Tennessee, Alabama, Miami (Orange Bowl), Florida, Florida State, FAU, Pittsburgh, Legion Field (Compass Bowl)

DIAA -- Princeton, Yale, Monmouth University, Delaware, Samford, VMI

DIII -- Bridgewater, E&H, H-SC, W&L, R-MC, B-SC, Centre, Millsaps, Sewanee, Huntingdon, Wilkes, Kings, TCNJ, Carnegie Mellon, Dickinson, Gettysburg, Davidson (was DIII when I was there)

I feel like I'm missing a few DIIIs, but that's all I'm coming up with right now.

Pro -- at the bottom where it belongs. Miami, NY (Giants Stadium), Pittsburgh, RFK, Philly (Lincoln Field)

I could add a couple D3 stadiums where I've seen lax games in the football stadium, but that isn't the question...

Thanks ... I'm one of those people who remembers everything except my ATM PIN at 10 o'clock at night.  lol

I'm a native Virginian (Patrick County), so you have my empathy.  I grew up in a farming community in the southwestern part of the state, so I'd say more pull for Virginia Tech than UVA ... especially since Frank Beamer grew up "next door" in Carroll County.

Best D3 environment you've experienced ?

The year a couple fraternity brothers and I went down to "The Game" at H-SC. I think 1998. No question. Most of the W&L games I went to they weren't very good. 2010 H-SC at W&L comes in second. Wesley at Huntingdon last year is probably third.

Best game I've ever watched? Last year's H-SC at W&L. Wish I had been there. Over the computer it was incredible.

GC is the only ODAC venue missing!

To parapharase Andy's letter to Red in The Shawshank Redemption, "If you're reading this, it means you've come this far.  Perhaps you'll be willing to come a litttle bit farther.  You remember the name of the town, don't you?"  lol  If you made it to Averett, Emory & Henry and NC Wesleyan, Guilford is not that much farther (actually shorter than E&H!).  Zihuatanejo!

Nice idea, Hasanova!  I can't top your list in quantity but here is my two cents worth.

As a player and graduate assistant at Austin College from 1967-1971, I played in Arkadelphia, Arkansas at Ouachita & Henderson State (I believe they shared a stadium then), Sewanee, Rhodes (was called Southwestern then), Colorado College, Sul Ross, Nebraska Wesleyan, William Jewell, Texas Lutheran, Northwood Institute (Dallas), Maryville, Graceland (Missouri), Balboa Stadium (was home for the old AFL San Diego Chargers) and the Olympic Stadium in Mexico City (one of the University of Mexico teams).

While my son was playing at UMHB I saw him in all the ASC home stadiums (UMHB, ETBU, HSU, HPU, Sul Ross, Mississippi College, Louisiana College (old stadium), McMurry and TLU).  I also traveled to see him play in Belhaven (Mississippi), Willamette (Oregon), Trinity, Washington & Jefferson, Mount Union, and Salem (Stagg Bowl). I have also watched Austin College play at Southwest Assemblies of God.

Non-D3 stadiums I have been to seen games at include Texas A&M, University of Texas, TCU, Texas State, Louisiana Tech, Sam Houston State, TAMU-Commerce, TAMU-West Texas, Angelo State, Air Force, Boston College and bowl games in the Alamodome, old Texas Stadium, Cowboy Stadium, Astrodome and Reliant Stadium.

I also watched Whitewater play La Crosse while on vacation in Wisconsin, have attended four additional Stagg Bowls and have tickets to the opening of the new UMHB "Cruthedral" next week.

Anything that you ardently desire, vividly imagine, totally believe and enthusiastically pursue will inevitably come to pass !!!

Nice collection of games, roocru!  Thanks.

I was part of several uninvited cross border incursions on 4 different continents.  :)

From coaching NAIA, playing at Lees-McRae (JUCO Does that count and laying the worst beating on Hank Norton and the Panthers up to that point in their school history?), and watching I have seen every college football game in NC that existed from 1970-2003. From FSU to UVA I've seen it enough to consider myself lucky to live in a country that has this.

Lets face it men. NOTHING is like college football.......... at any level.
Never shall I leave a fallen comrade

Just out of curiosity, but someone did tell HSC what team they are supposed to throw the ball to before the game started, right? Yeesh. 4 picks and two fumbles early in the third. On the upside, despite having 6 turnovers, it's still only 17-0 at this point. Amazing.

CNU85

5 picks and 3 fumbles. Hard to get any momentum. Nash had huge numbers. But in watching the game, I never felt HSC was in it. They just seemed out of synch. A lot of dropped balls and Nash wasn't very accurate. Take away the turnovers and this is a different game.

HSC travels well. A lot of tailgaters and fans! Record crowd at CNU, over 6,700. I hope y'all liked the fireworks at halftime and had a safe trip home.

HSC will rebound. No doubt. Good team and coaches. Good luck the rest of the way!
