1975 through 1977 and yes, the stadium is a huge improvement. My oldest son is now at HSC. Prior to the GC game in 2011 he asked me what to expect facilities wise. I told him the field is horrible, etc., what a pleasant surprise to see the improvements made since back in the day. The campus is beautiful and the stadium very nice, just not enough people in the stands. Hope to meet you on Nov. 2nd

tfa, glad to see you think it's better - it was long overdue.  I think you'll see more folks in the stands this year.  It's no secret GC's had some lean years ... 2010 was 0-10 and 2011 was 2-8.  We are much more competitive now (6-6 in last 12 games) and the fan support is up.  I look forward to meeting you as well.

I'm sure the 8 turnovers will be high on the list, if not at the top. Include the 4th down attempts that failed and that adds four more turnovers to the total. Certainly a game to forget. Hopefully the Tigers will be able to put this one in the record books and go on about their business. Good luck to your Generals on Saturday.

There were also 3 defensive holding penalties and a roughing the passer penalty on 4 separate 3rd and long.  The Tigers could not catch a break. Which should not come as too much of a surprise as they did not catch anything very well Saturday. Not crying over spilled milk and not blaming the refs but the fumble called incomplete pass is an example. Should have been HSC ball on the 8. Instead CNU punts the ball back to us. Great atmosphere terrible game.

I think is fair to say absolutely nothing went our way Saturday night. Every team is going to have a bad game, hopefully we got our "only" bad game out of the way and behind us. Hopefully 9-1 and play CNU in the first round of the playoffs. That could make for some fun.

It is pretty rare, outside of the "airplane" areas, to have season rematches in the first game of the playoffs. If you want another crack at CNU, you are probably going to have to both win at least 1 playoff game, probably more like 2. Just thinking it through, a hypothetical 3 seed for CNU, 7 seed for HSC would set up a second round game. Of course, that implies HSC would beat either a UMHB, Wesley, or JHU on the road as most people have the South set up recently, and CNU would have to jump one of those teams in the seedings (or whoever else manages to go 10-0). Too many possibilities to really think about it at this stage.

Anything is possible I suppose...

Jumping way into the future, if CNU does win out and both H-SC & Salibury win their conference, I think that is good enough to put them at #2 or #3, because Wesley and UMHB play this weekend and one of them will have a loss. However, a home game for CNU would be quite possible. However, as aforementioned, this is all hypothetical and way too many possibilities.

Hypothetical or not, I can't envision a scenario where either HSC or Salisbury are seeded ahead of Wesley or UMHB, even if all of them win out (after this weekend's game in Belton). CNU maybe, but not the Tigers or the Gulls.
And if Salisbury does win out then they're likely to be placed in another region since they would be the champions of the E8, an eastern region conference.

Assuming UMHB and Wesley only have the one loss in this week's game, I do not see CNU being seeded higher than either of those two, even if CNU happens to finish 10-0. Remember, last year CNU lost at home against LaGrange and on the road at Methodist......so a 10-0 season isn't in the bag yet....still have 8 to play.

I just hoping HSC is still in the discussion going into to week 8. Worry about the seedings after the fact.

Thanks for this word of caution, tfa.  I actually looked at the calendar this morning to make sure I hadn't fallen asleep and missed the first 5 or 6 weeks of actual ODAC competition.  lol

Ain't that the truth. After two weeks of non-conference play, the best I can come up with in the ODAC is there are 4 or 5 teams with a chance to win the title. I wouldn't crown anyone a favorite right now and, if anything, it has gotten more muddled in my mind than it was in preseason. I will be absolutely shocked if anyone runs the ODAC table this year. It would not surprise me to see a tie at the top of the ODAC with several teams sporting 2 conference losses at the end of the year.

To sum up the first two weeks, the ODAC has one decent OOC win, W&L's 1 pt home squeaker over F&M, 2 good OOC losses, RMC pounded by JHU and HSC beaten by CNU, and a whole host of wins over mostly lower tier competition. There are also a couple losses to mid-tier opponents, Guilford to Methodist and Shenandoah to Gallaudet.

It's possible we are looking at 2008 all over again.

Are your Quakers ready to make a run at the ODAC ?

What happened in 2008 ? Is that the year RMC went 6-4 and traveled the MU ?

Yes. But it's also the year Catholic (4-2,9-2), H-SC (4-2,8-2), E&H (4-2,6-4) and RMC (4-2,6-5 including MU) all tied for the ODAC title.

Catholic lost to RMC and Bridgewater
RMC lost to W&L and E&H
E&H lost to HSC and Catholic
HSC lost to Catholic and RMC

That puzzle was somehow untied and RMC was crowned the champion. I don't actually know the tiebreakers.
