Are your Quakers ready to make a run at the ODAC ?
I think we're a year away, but, of course, the Quaker coaches and players are the ones who organize and play the game.  I think Guilford could be anywhere between 3-4 and 5-2 in the ODAC this year ... depending on their focus, the injury bug and other intangibles.  We could've won the Methodist game and, conversely, we could've lost the Greensboro game.  I think we'll be a spoiler in 2013 and seriously "in the hunt" in 2014 & 2015.  Coach Rusiewicz has assembled a good group of players and coaches and the focus is definitely there to compete and get better every game.  Our sophomore QB Pawlowski is the "real deal" and will only get better ... and he has some very competent talent around him as well.  Grab your shades - the future looks bright on Friendly Avenue in Greensboro.  :)

Jk

The ODAC will be competitive. Hopefully the champion will be 9-1 and get a decent seed, maybe even a home game depending on how the season plays out.

GC is certainly a factor but I agree will probably play the spoiler role by knocking off Bridgewater, RMC & W&L and losing a close one to HSC !!!!!!

It's Homecoming at Guilford (1-1) this weekend at 7 PM versus Averett (0-2).  Hope a lot of Quaker and visiting Cougar fans will be there.

What rules are in place for tailgating on the GC campus ?

hasanova

tfa, it's pretty much first come, first served, but the lot between Armfield Stadium and Dana Auditorium is reserved for season ticket holders.  There are three rows of parking between Armfield and Alumni Gym (down the left field line at McBane Baseball Field, which is adjacent to the football stadium) that are good for tailgating.  I prefer the area behind Hege-Cox Hall, which allows you to back in, tailgate on the grass and have a good view of players walking to the stadium.  Other parking areas across campus are adjacent to Binford Hall, Duke Memorial Hall and the Frank Family Science Center.  Maps are available online.  Most of the streets through campus are open to parking on game day and there is also easy access to the stadium from Quaker Village Shopping Center on the other side of Friendly Avenue from the college if you can't find a space on campus.  Hope to see you on November 2nd!

As always thanks for your feedback. Good luck Saturday night. Win another one for the ODAC. We'll try to do the same at the Coast Guard Academy. Can't believe I'm going all the way up there, but I am.

It's worth the trip TFA. The campus, sitting right on the Thames River, is spectacular. I've been to West Point and Annapolis and the Coast Guard Academy campus is just as beautiful in its own way. Smaller and not quite as historic, but every bit as imposing. It shouldn't be too tough a game for H-SC so I think that will add to your visit.

I briefly though of applying, but I wasn't as into math as the curriculum implied was necessary. Also wasn't sure the military life was for me. But man what a beautiful campus. Oddly enough the close relationship between Connecticut College and CGA always reminded me, in a small way, of the relationship between W&L and VMI.

Have a safe trip and good luck to the Tigers this weekend.

I think there is a Hobart fan/poster on the Liberty League boards who is a Prof at CGA. Might be worth saying hello if he is going to be at the game. Can't think of the name right now.

One of the best football seasons I've ever had was when I went to every Guilford game home and away in 1991 - lots of good memories of an 8-2 season.  Hope it works out that way for you this year as well.

Glad for field turf at BC now. Good chance of rain as we meet Ferrum. Rain usually produces turnovers and BC has been good at creating and taking advantage of them so far. 3 - 0 sounds good but hey, that's why we play the games.
