You as well. Great game and congrats to the Hawks. I wish my Generals had played as well.

Ouch!  Was that a Wasp or a train that ran over the Methodist Monarchs today in Fayetteville?

Final  E&H 61, Methodist 22

Very efficient day for Boden as he went 29-31 for 382 yards and five touchdowns and 1 interception.  Glad to see the running game pick up today with over 200 yards rushing.

Glad to have Ferrum in the rearview. Good team except pass defense.
BC offense has balance and is getting smoother every game.
Surprise of the day, Averett over Guilford. Never would have guessed that based on previous play this year.
That's why we play the games though. Anything can happen.

It was torrential rain in Greensboro throughout the game.  GC gave Averett three easy TDs on turnovers, had a TD called back on a penalty and missed two short FGs - including a 22-yarder to tie with 5 seconds to go.  I give credit to Averett, but GC should have won.

The ODAC is going to be a bear this year. E&H and Catholic are better than expected. RMC, HSC and, especially, W&L look a little worse than I expected. That doesn't mean bad, just not as good to my eye in the games I've watched. Bridgewater is pounding bad teams, but Guilford, to my eye, does not seem like they took the big step forward many were expecting.

I've said it before but I'm going on record now, the conference champ will be decided by a tie breaker between 2 or 3 teams with 2 conference losses. Alliance or Belton, I feel it coming and I don't like it.

Don't feel so bad. You forget that the crap teams the ODAC is pounding is a steady stream of USA South teams that are supposed to be in the hunt come November. I think for sure an ODAC winner gets a better seeding than USAC.
But speaking of Belton, have you seen the video and photos from yesterday's game? New stadium blows my mind. If my boys get a shot at the dance and go down to Belton, I'm making a trip from East Tennessee. UMHB did it right.

HSC is better than last year. They obviously turned the ball over way too many times against CNU.  BUT defensively we are tons better. Offensively - still one of the best in D3.

I dare say say that virtually no one on this ODAC board has seen another ODAC team play this year other than the team they enjoy watching. So making predictions based on games too be played by teams you've never seen play is in my opinion baseless.

So here are a few baseless predictions.
Mt Union will not host a playoff game. (I have never seen them play)
The ODAC champion is undefeated in conference play and will host a first round game. (I have no ideas to who will win it)
The ODAC Champ will win at a minimum 2 playoff games.
Hampden Sydney College
ODAC Champions 77, 82, 83, 87, 07, 09, 11, 13, 14
NCAA Playoffs - 77, 07, 09, 10, 11, 13, 14
The "Game" 60 wins and counting...

I don't think so. I will be very surprised if CNU doesn't go undefeated. They have already beaten what might be the best (H-SC) and worst (Shenandoah) of the ODAC. Huntingdon has to go to Wesley, but otherwise I wouldn't be surprised to see them go undefeated in USASC play. I went down to see the game against La Col yesterday and there is no one that I have seen in the USASC the last few years that could beat them if they keep playing like they did yesterday. The defense is very big and quick, the offense will improve since it is very young. Perhaps CNU could beat them this year, but we won't know unless they meet in the playoffs.

The new stadium is ridiculous. I'm happy for UMHB and I know the money was donated for that purpose so it needed to be used that way, but it is twice as nice as it needs to be for a D3 program.

While I haven't seen them live I watched the JHU at RMC game, H-SC at CNU game, and I watched CMU at Catholic on Friday night, plus I had Maryville at E&H  on the computer last week since it was during W&L's bye week. I watched W&L play F&M, but missed the game yesterday since I was at Huntingdon hosting La Col. Next weekend I'll be at B-SC hosting Wesley, so I'll have a better feel for how the top of the South Region looks. That being said, I haven't seen an ODAC team that I think could take Huntingdon or La Col. I'm hoping not to feel the same way after next weekend.

There is a different feel when you are at the games, but going by my eye balls I stand by my original comment. I also will eat my hat if the ODAC champ wins a minimum of 2 playoff games this year...

Wow, that's a lot of gifts. Knew something bad happened because Guilford wins that game 99℅ of the time. You guys will get back on track I'm sure. It was a nasty day for sure.

Hats can taste good with bar-b-que sauce, just in case.
You make good points and I think you are probably right but, that's why we play em.

Word of the day: BOLD. After going 3-0 OOC and beating 2 very good teams, yes, CNU does have the type of team that can go undefeated. And, yes, they don't play Huntingdon. BUT, seven more games in conference and I've seen some crazy things happen within the conference over the past few years.

JK, always respect your views and agree with them most of the time.  I don't see anything that I disagree with that you said here.  I thought I spent a lot of time on the computer watching games, but it looks like you are spending more than I am.  After yesterday the south is a 1 team race, UMHB is head and shoulders above the rest.  I am not sure where Wesley falls since the O line is a mess right now and that will make games much closer than need by since the offense cant sustain any drives forcing the defense to be on the field too long.  I will be interested to here how you see it after next weeks game vs. Birm South.

Funny how fans remember the turnovers they give away but not the ones they receive.

The Quakers (1-2) recovered a fumble of their own late in the third quarter and converted it into a touchdown with 10:04 left in regulation, which drew the hosts to within 30-27. Another fumble gave Guilford possession on the Cougars' 29 and the hosts drove to the one-yard line before Averett stopped quarterback Matt Pawlowski on a fourth-down sneak at the goal line.

Guilford's defense forced Averett to punt three plays later and the Quakers' offense was at the Cougars' 25-yard line with 2:20 left. The drive stalled at Averett's five, setting up a 22-yard field goal attempt with 5.3 seconds left that hooked to the left.

I have a couple little kids, an almost 4 year old daughter and twin 1.5 year old boys. So afternoons are nap time. That means no power tools, lawn equipment, hanging pictures, or anything else that will get my wife mad. Basically means Saturday afternoons are quiet time for me and I'd rather spend it watching D3 games than the big boys. Since it costs a small fortune to get a babysitter, I'm usually home either Fri or Sat night, so I can watch night games pretty easily as well once the kids go to bed. My wife is very understanding.

We're going to go as a family to B-SC since it is not far away and the boys can nap in the motorhome if they get cranky. Should be a good time, but I am very curious about both teams. Hope the game is as good as La Col at Huntingdon (won late in the 4th qtr) and not as wet. I dressed rainproof and needed every bit of it!
