Guilford football recruits, Class of 2036:

My identical twin grandsons, children of my oldest son Chris and daughter-in-law Jackie, were born 11/12/13.  Paxton 5 lb 8 oz and Bennett 6 lb 2 oz now have "Quakers" spelled with blocks right beside their cribs.  :)

Congrats!  That is awesome. Tuition Room and Board at Guilford in the mid 80s was about 10k. Today it's about 40k. If that trend holds, I hope you have a strong savings plan!
Hampden Sydney College
ODAC Champions 77, 82, 83, 87, 07, 09, 11, 13, 14

Hasa

Congrats and enjoy the grandkids. It will only make you younger.

On a totally different note, great article on the HSC defense. Hopefully they'll bring their "A" game this Saturday.
From all the talk around Richmond, should be a huge HSC presence on the RMC campus. Parking will be an issue.

Tell the parents good luck. I have fraternal twin sons, turning two next month, and those first six months were rough. We also have a 4 year old daughter, so we went from no kids to 3 kinds in a hurry. Twins are definitely a unique experience.

Thanks for the congratulatory posts.  It's the first grandchildren, so what a way to start!

Are you responsiible for chasing all the Macon supporters away from this board ?

It's a good question. I understand why the Bridgewater fans that had briefly resurfaced slithered away again, but what happened to the Jackets? We had a few the last few years, but I think they were parents whose kids graduated and we just haven't had a new crop appear. Sometimes I wonder why more people don't find these boards, or at least more ex players don't appear, but I guess everyone has their reasons.

FWIW, I am a Macon supporter but just not that into football. I read everything posed here, but have little I can contribute. But since I am logged on I will make one observation about THE GAME this Saturday. I saw online some of R-MC vs Guilford and R-MC vs Bridgewater. My sense is that Macon has a vulnerable pass defense, so if Nance is everything people say he is, R-MC is going to have to keep its offense on the field A LOT to keep Nance off the field, otherwise it could get ugly for the Jackets.

I hope your observation regarding the Macon pass defense is correct because if that is true I feel like HSC has a chance to win.
HSC cannot allow Macon to control the ball, if that happens I don't think I'm going to like the result.

In my time on the boards I have certainly seen some Macon fans here, but in general I've gotten the sense that they're more engaged on the basketball board.

Mr. Ypsi

hasa, let me add my congratulations on your grandfatherhood.  I'm due to become a first time grandfather in April (no word yet on whether to expect a grandson or granddaughter).

+k to hasa for becoming a grandfather.
I'm old enough to be my son's grandfather. I hope not to be a grandpa for at least 20-25 years.

I first came to look at the ODAC because Scott Yoder took over at SU. However, I found that you guys have a really exciting conference with W&L, HSC, RMC, and Guilford, etc. So even though I'm really a Hobart/Liberty League/East Region fan, I can't help myself...I'm going to be following the HSC v RMC game this weekend. Clash of the Titans. As a neutral observer, it's going to be a great game no matter who wins. I can't imagine how pumped you true believers must be. It's going to be a great Saturday.
