You can rest assured, Nash is being protected. I know that for certain. Several key defensive players are being protected as well;
no blocking below the waste, etc. To conduct camp otherwise could ruin the season before it starts.

somewhere there is a countdown clock to when I can start reading Kickoff. Knowing it is probably today isn't helping. I need to keep track of the second hand. Feeling pressure to start getting my pick'ems and South Region Fan Poll thoughts organized.

Maybe they got tired of having to wear a collared shirt to class every day, maybe they got tired of being told to check in to the football office every day before 9:00 am, maybe they broke a rule like wearing a burgundy colored shirt to a football meeting, or having an HSC player as a friend on social media, maybe they wanted to make some decisions on their own and not have every decision made for them.

Gosh, maybe, RMC is the one college that's "Forming good men and good citizens".  Wearing collared shirts and instilling discipline!  Sounds good to me, or I may just be too old.

Nance look comfortable behind retooled OL.

It's easy to be comfortable going against a defense that isn't trying to get you.   :)

That's certainly not the case with Dodson's defense.  This is the best defense I've seen since 2003.  If the Tigers lose a game during the regular season, I'd be willing to bet that it's not going to be because of sloppy defense.

So H-SC's defense is putting hits on Nash Nance in an intrasquad scrimmage?  They're really bringing the heat on their All-American quarterback in practice?

They may not be hitting Nash or bringing the rush on every single play but these guys are thirsty/hungry (whatever you want to call it) and what better way to get prepared than going after the offense the Tigers have?  Either way, I didn't say that they were trying to take him or anyone else on the offense out.  The mentality behind the Tigers defense is similar to a "take no prisoners" kind.  They're definitely not just going through motions.

Of course they aren't.  But they also aren't pressuring Nance, likely by order and if not by order then they're probably smart enough to not be putting much contact on their meal ticket.  Nance has been wearing the "Hey, I'm off limits!" practice jersey long enough to know that he isn't going to get hit by his own guys.  Ergo...

Yep. Go read it. In a short lull I combed through a few things already. Always a good read and always puts me in the mood for football season!

I need an explanation. Kickoff has HSC going 8-2/7-0. So I get they think HSC gets beat by Wabash & CNU.
They also have CNU going 8-2/7-0. CNU plays 2 OOC games. Where does CNU's 2nd loss come from ? Do they think HSC will beat CNU and lose to Coast Guard ?????

Well there was an article with at least a tidbit about how Coast Guard will be better this year, but I don't think that's it. I'm guessing a typo. They have the Tigers at 21, the Captains at 41 and the CGA at 197. Since the predicted records are based on where they are ranked, I'm thinking it's a typo for HSC and should be 9-1, 7-0.

That happens sometimes...244 team schedules with somewhere over 1,000 projected game results (sometimes projected by different contributors covering different conferences), the accounting on one or two projected records might not match up.  There are a handful of those examples every year.

I'll make the trip next week to watch Tigers as I've got blood playing. Hope the game lives up to the hype. Most important question is "Where is Tailgate and when does it start" ?

There will be copious tailgating in and around both of the parking lots just outside of the stadium- one on either side of the railroad tracks because this is D3 and of course there are railroad tracks.  When?  Early.

Guilford had a controlled scrimmage with Ferrum this afternoon in Greensboro, but it was over before I could leave work.  Anyone know how that went?
