Ouch. 31-47 .  Had a chance at the end with a onsides kick recovery down by 16, missed 2pt to make it down by 10. Then interception return on last play of game. Great great effort at the end of game but just didnt start out well.

Is Shenandoah that good ? Looks like E&H is that good. GC just can't get it done again this year. Quakers have to win out. HSC looks like they are team to beat. Again ? E&H plays at HSC next week. Should be fun ?

Yes, as an offense that was scoring 52 points a game they could have pulled if off down by 10 with 8 mins or so left. The SU defensive line is very good. Think it was 7 or 8 sacks and put the pressure on qb whole game. 3 interceptions as a result. And the loss.

Ok then what does that say about GC OL? SU had 8 sacks in first 4 games.  GC has certainly looked good early in season but 3 of 4 wins have came against teams that have combined to go 1 - 14.

Guilford scored with a couple of minutes to go to make it 41-31 ... came up short going for 2 which would have made it a one possession game at 41-33.  Last pick six for SU was run in after time expired, so meaningless.  I usually don't do this, but the officials were not very good today.

Officials may not have been very good but they did not give up the 8 sacks and throw the 3 INTs.  Last year the loss to SU was actually a turning point for HSC.  That loss seem to strengthen their resolve to prove what a talented team they had. It will be interesting to see how Quakers respond this weekend against BC (who beat SU last week). That game will most likely eliminate the loser from having a shot at the ODAC championship.   

EH is the big surprise for 2014. Next week they are at HSC. HUGE game on "The Hill".  The winner will be all alone in first place.

I've noticed HSC individuals are not putting up as big of numbers like in years past ? I know that last 2 games the starters were out in 2nd half . Is that because Favret is keeping players from possible  injury with big leads ? Is Walker  and Nance injured or having bad years ? They were both on Pre Season All American lists? Even Defense guy Dogget is on a slower tackling pace this year.
Or is Favret doing his normal "you will never figure me out no matter how hard you try because I will turn these boys loose when it counts "  I guess as long as they win it really doesn't matter ?

Nance is not far off his pace from last season. In the first 4 games last season he had completed 104 passes for a total of 1042 yards or 10.2 per catch. This season having played sparingly in 2 halves he's completed 83 passes for 948 yards or 11.4 per catch.

Walker is off pace 43 catches 561 last year compared to 26 for 390 this year. But last season thru 4 games HSC had 3 players with 8 or more catches. This season thru 4 games there are 6 guys with 8 or more receptions.   I think Nance is distributing the ball around better this year than ever before.

Doggett has also had playing time limited due to 2 blowout victories.

Nance has now thrown for 1307 this season vs 1243 last season thru 5 games. On the first offensive series in today's game Nance had a 1 yard TD RUN, the 2nd series a 34 yard TD PASS, and the 3rd series he had a 31 yard TD RECEPTION.  I doubt that has happen on 3 consecutive drives many times in NCAA history.

Walker has 551 thru 5 games vs 616 thru 5 games last season.

Doggett lead team in tackling for 4th time this fall.

Thank you HSCTiger fan . I know Nance is far and away the best QB in the ODAC maybe in Nation. HSC seemed to be struggling at first. But I can see Favret is maneuvering again to set up his offense for the year. Kudos to HSC program. HSC Defense still had struggles with W&L ? E&H has beaten 3 good teams. HSC only 1 this year. Should be a good one.

Your Generals are the best 0-5 team in the country. Their defense really struggles but our defense struggled most of the afternoon against a W&L offense that I thought is the best we've played against all year. If they can hold it together considering the horrible start to the season, they will beat some teams in the second half of the season.

What is deal with E&H ? Evidently HSC is in for a dog fight this coming weekend. I certainly was not expecting E&H to be a factor this year, in fact I had them finishing last in the odac. What the heck do I know ?

Was the GC result a fluke or did SU just hand them a beating ? If HSC beats E&H on Saturday, they turn around the next week with a visit to SU. It should not be easy to win an odac championship, and will not be easay again this year. Which ever team pulls it off will have earned it.
