Dufresne reference acknowledged. I want a 4 way tie with a coin flip in a seedy truck stop ala "Friday Night Lights"
If you know west Texas geography, the closest point roughly equidistant to Abilene, Odessa and San Angelo will be a "seedy truck stop" on Interstate 20.  LOL

After watching GC vs HSC yesterday I do not see HSC (if they beat RMC) doing much in the playoffs. I've never seen a good team like HSC that seldom  pressures the opposing QB. HSC is dead last in sacks in the ODAC. Maybe they don't have the personnel. I think it's size in this case. I would use some of that speed to blitz occasionally. I know the HSC posters will think I'm bashing but it's just my opinion. You have a great team. Whoever represents the ODAC I will pull for them in the playoffs. It gives us all confidence that we can compete Nationally.

Great game by both teams yesterday.  I'm sure the Quakers are crushed by the loss, but one thing is apparent:  most of the HSC guys making plays are seniors, and GC has mostly underclassmen making plays.

Did anyone besides me find the spotting of the football oddly generous yesterday?   It went both ways, but it was hard not be distracted by it as a play by play radio guy.  Several of the spots turned into unearned first downs for each team.  I know it's extremely hard to do, but it seems as though it was so consistent it was a policy.  Just wondering if anyone else had the same opinion.  I do realize my view is better than most.

1 Sack in ODAC play says you are not bashing just being honest.

Response to several posts.
Spots have been very suspect this year. Still pissed about the Guilford game and film will tell you why
HSC blitzed a lot against BC  but simply couldn't get there.
I think ODAC is just a well balanced tough league to play in and should get 2 spots but know it just won't happen.

Nance proved his metal yesterday. I was worried that after last Saturday he might be nicked up too much to be effective on the ground. Great players always bounce back and he did.
Nance is good, but I think both QBs demonstrated their mettle.

It's due to the overall conference OOC schedule. Just tough to schedule when playing so far away from other good quality teams.

ODAC has gotten 2 spots in the playoffs before. CUA and RMC in 2008 and WL and HSC in 2010. Both times the ODAC runner up was 9-1.  With so few at large spots available there's little room for a conference runner up - especially one that is 8-2.

Guilford was "down" after the game.  Fifteen years is long enough.  The call that bothered me was the last pass interference call on GC ... I just didn't see it ... and the lack of one earlier on HSC.

Hasa in both of Guilford's losses this year you have mentioned poor officiating.  So you saw pass interference on HSC when the officials did not call it but you didn't see it when they did call it on Guilford.  Well that's convenient.  The ref that missed the no call pass interference on HSC might have been the same one that refused to call holding on the Guilford receivers on the 10 to 15 screen passes GC threw. There's arguments from both teams for lousy officiating.

I assumed they did because of their record of 9-2.

It was probably a post-season game sponsored by the ECAC.

I saw the same defense on both plays - one was called in HSC's favor and one was not called in GC's favor.  It's not sour grapes.  Be a gracious winner.  You have a great team.

I was really impressed with HSC's oline play this week compared to the rest of the season so far. GC definitely challenged us to run the rock on them by emptying the box, and the line executed very well and with a guy who's never played before starting at left tackle (and Nash Nance being the superstar he is) they looked the best I've seen of them in pass pro too gave a solid pocket 99% of the time. The issues with the dine I think are mostly just issues of size, Tyler palmer is shifty and can pass rush real well, but his arms are so short he has yet to be able to break down and make a play on the QB, Bazemore is just so skinny that he is man handled all too often, and Freddie potter, playing cclassic nose tackle in a 3-3 stack is double teamed constantly.
