Will be interesting to see how many kids from HSC get picked first team odac. Given they way we won the odac my bet is not many. Without naming names, how many will be named first team? My bet is no more than four, five tops and this includes both sides of the ball and specialty teams.

I agree with 4 or 5. I don't think more than 7 on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams combined.

The "Game" 60 wins and counting...

Congratulations to Guilford QB Matt Pawlowski on being named as one of 10 semifinalists for the Gagliardi Trophy.

Here's your 2nd (or 1st) team all-ODAC QB.

the only for sure 1st and 2nd team odac players are  Nance, Walker, Moore and Dogget the maybees for 2nd and 3rd are Potter, Rohle, and Stack in my opinion ( Nance could even be the first team punter lol)

This all brings up an interesting point...there's at least a pretty good shot Pawlowski will be the First Team QB, no? His TD-INT ratio is insane. 38-3 for the season

And I think with even more parity towards the top than normal, we will probably see a pretty even spread across all 3 All Conference teams

Mr. Pawlowski had a great year. Hard to keep him off the first team given how he finished an already great season at E&H.

I think Wesley as good as they are lacks the kicking game to win it all. It was cold and breezy the other day and their punting was by far the worst we'd seen all year. I don't think it's going to be 75 and no wind anywhere they play this year.  All the Wesley folks chalk up their going 2 - 15 on 3rd and 4th down as they were not trying very hard as the game was a blow-out. I don't buy it.  They also had 13 penalties.  They will need to clean up the rough edges if they are going to win it all or even get by MU.

HSC, I will agree with the kicking game.  The punting was pretty bad.  As for the other stats, in a competitive game they would not look very good, but in this context they are rather insignificant.  It was 42-0 after 1.  No matter how much the coaches or players try to stay focused it generally does not happen.  If Wesley converts more 3rd downs who knows how bad the score is.  I am more concerned about the timing that looked off on pass plays.  They were sort of out of sinc with several throws being late, the int for 1, and that will get you beat by a top level team almost all the time.  I liked the 3rd running back Wesley ran, #20.  He has some quickness and was able to get outside often when asked to.  The penalties seemed to also be from lack of focus.  In the end IMO it is hard to take much out of the game other than Wesley was the much better team in this game.

Wesley I know it was a crushing defeat. I know Wesley is much better than HSC was.  I just think all the things I mentioned need to be cleaned up for Wesley to win it all. You can brush it off for various reasons. Reasons that are legit. But I doubt they win the championship if they go 2 of 17 on 3rd and 4th down again in this tournament and or have 2 punts out of their own end zone that go 2 and 5 yards.  I'm pulling for you guys to do well, I saw these things as weaknesses. Some may have come from lack of focus but I bet your coach is addressing these issues this week at practice regardless the reasons.

Now I feel like even having a doubt Pawlowski would be first team was foolish. Congrats to Guilford on taking home the two players of the year awards.

The only 2 Catholic representatives on the list were Seniors Mike Zolfo and Pat Thomas. Both have started 30 or more games for the Cards and are very deserving of this recognition and I'm very glad they both finally got it. It was quite overdue and it's nice to see them end their stellar careers on a positive note.

I think they will be good ... a senior-laden team in 2015.  You're absolutely right, probably never heard before!  +1 and +1
