What happened to Bridgewater?  Only saw the end of the game and that was ugly.

For the first time in many years they tried to play a decent OOC opponent.
Gettysburgh is a middle of the road CC team.  They usually have a strong offense and not much D.  Bridgewater could be in trouble this year is they got run over like that.

The Eagles actually nipped the Bullets 33-32 in Gettysburg last season.  That's a 40 point swing.

Ferrum has E&H and Greensboro has Guilford. 2 of bottom 3 USAC has 2 of top 3 ODAC. Yikes.
I can tell you Guilford handled Ferrum easily in the scrimmage 9 days ago ... and Greensboro 52-0 last season.  We'll know in about 7 hours.

Going back to the discussion last week:
Maryville beat Union 103-0 in 1924 according to media guide.
Also MC has played the follow FBS schools:
Alabama, App State, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, GA Tech, Kentucky, Middle Tenn State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, NC State, Tennessee, Vandy, Wake Forest.

Decent résumé; terrible winning percentage.

Final Guilford 77, Greensboro 13

Pretty lopsided game at Greensboro.  Guilford had 609 yards total offense with 11 TDs:  7 passing, 3 rushing and one punt return.  It's going to be a long season for the Pride.

Or a really, really good season for the Quakers.

Touche.  I actually think it's going to be both.

The ODAC went 5-3 in the first week with W&L, GC, E&H, SU and CUA winning.  To be fair, I expected RMC and HSC to fall to JHU and Wabash, respectively, but got caught off-guard by the BC/Gettysburg score.

In '13 HSC beat GC 52-0 then last year the score was tied at the end of the game. A 52 point swing. Hard to look at 1 year versus the next. I agree that score was a surprise but not nearly as surprising to me as the lack of offense by HSC vs Wabash. 86 total yards after getting 63 on their initial drive. Wabash d was obviously very good. But 86 yards was very surprising. It will be interesting to see how the Tigers respond this weekend against another quality opponent.

Yeah. Still trying to figure out if Wabash is that good this year, or if HSC is going to struggle to gel for a few weeks, or if HSC is going to have a down year. One game isn't going to give that answer but I think we'll find out a lot more about HSC this week. I've said a few times that W&L could plow through their 3 OOC games winning by fantastic margins and still be mid-pack or worse in the ODAC. I have a feeling HSC could get buried in their first two games but still be competing for the ODAC crown at the end of the season. The vagaries of asymmetric schedules...

I can agree with that. I do think Wabash is exceptionally talented defensively.  The game should slow down considerably for our offense this week. I am confident in our coaches and players to come out strong this week.

I hope HSC hangs a 40 burger on the Captains this weekend.  There are some really good players there.  Moore is good.  Koonce is going to be really good.  I thought the LG defense would have a strong day last weekend, but they exceeded even my own expectation.  That's just going to be a strong unit this year.  Gotta wonder what poor Allegheny is doing for the next 10 days trying to figure out how they're going to move the ball.  That's going to get gross.

In any case, had a blast down at HSC. Y'all do it right down there on game day.  Good luck this week and go ahead and win 'em all the rest of the way.   :)

I plan to make the drive to Fayetteville Saturday to watch the Quakers and the Methodist Monarchs.  If life cooperates, my goal is to attend all 10 (or more!) games this season.  I almost made it last year ... had the first nine under my belt, then my daughter-in-law scheduled a 1st birthday party for my twin grandsons at 11 am in Winston-Salem on the same day the Quakers were playing at E&H at 1 pm.  I could see getting the "World's Worst Grandfather Award" if I screwed that one up!  The cake was delicious, the twins were cute and the Quakers won, so it's all good!  :)

Good luck Hasa. A noble pursuit! I hope the Quakers show well against Methodist. This could be a big week for the ODAC. I really think only HSC and Catholic would be considered underdogs and I think both at least stand a chance, though I prefer Catholic at home to HSC on the road.

This is a very interesting game. Methodist beat Apprentice 18-0. Not the spread I expected..
