One thing to keep in mind re: CNU and their non-league schedule is that they now have just one non-league game to play. Locking in to an annual series with H-SC locks their schedule in to the same 10 teams every single year, which they may not want to do.

Plus they might want to find a game they can win without having to count on HSC turning the ball over 7 times.

Personally I think 10 team leagues stink for the players. I like the 8 team league. 3 OOC games gives the guys a chance with proper scheduling to go places and showcase/test their skills with a variety of teams from various conferences. Since 2010 HSC players have played OOC in AL, IN, MD, NC, and CT. Toss in playoff games and they've been to OR, KY, and DE.

Don't throw it 72 times and you might not turn it over 7 times. It's all part of the game. It's like counting on W&L fumbling it 5 times when you play them, maybe it happens and maybe it doesn't. Turnovers are like injuries, you never account for them but, hopefully you make a great preparation and can overcome them. In the end, that's why you play the games.

I'm sure it's hard for you to understand my being a smart ass. I know how many time we threw the ball. CNU is a good team. I'm just riding them a little. ODACInsider let me tell you this. I always treated you with respect and you to me. But I will always stand by HSC and Marty. I don't have to agree with everything anyone does. You talk a lot about the mistakes he makes. Yet he's accomplished more than any coach in the history of HSC football. You're quick to condemn but here it is Saturday morning and while Marty is not riding bus on his way to EH you're where ever you are not coaching anything. Get over your anger its not going to help you in the future.

That was a pretty good CNU defense that had something to do with those turnovers....while H-SC definitely has bragging rights over CNU for winning 3 of 4, the series could have easily been 2-2. The game at H-SC last year was tight, and CNU probably would have won if Rudy Rudolph's big toe wasn't out of bounds in the end zone.

Ugly day as I suspected for W&L. Hopefully they got it out of their system. The first half was... difficult. Big time grind it out win for the Generals to stay on track. Home game next weekend will be very welcome.

Congrats on the bounce back H-SC. Looks like E&H did a nice job bottling up Koonce but they couldn't defend the pass at the same time.

Guilford looks to pull one out at Bridgewater, a hard place to do it, and Shenandoah wins at home. A good week for the road teams.

Very exciting game today at EH. EH made it look easy early having gone up 21-0. HSC smoked EH 31 to 7 from that point on.

RMC playing WL close today gives me ODAC hopes for HSC.

RMC's loss today guarantees a 2nd consecutive non winning season.

Sorry to keep everyone wondering if I'm okay ... I am ... been awfully busy with work, travel and other issues.

Congratulations to today's winners. I was scoreboard watching while attending the GC at BC game. Heavy wind was affecting Guilford's passing game versus the Eagles, but an ODAC win is an ODAC win ... especially at Bridgewater on Homecoming day.

Selfishly, I was rooting for the Yellow Jackets, but W&L made a good comeback. Guilford hosts RMC next week.

A few highlights for the Quakers today: De'Eric Bell ran back the opening kickoff 100 yards for a TD and added a stellar 42-yard run for a TD. In addition, the Quakers won the turnover battle 3-1 to go +9 on the season.

Not feeling the love this year guys. But I'll take it because I know what it means right now! RMC isn't very good. W&Ls offense stayed on the bus in the first half.

There's never been an ODAC football title won by any back door. They have ALL been earned by the players, coaches and the rules.

Let's say "hypothetically" there was a coach on HSC's team last year that's no longer there. Let's say he left for another coaching job, or he went to work on a NASCAR pit crew, or he was fired for going around telling any one that would listen how he could not stand the head coach, or any other reason. The reason doesn't matter. Do you think that coach puts on his resume that he helped coach HSC to an ODAC championship and an NCAA playoff appearance? Or in this "hypothetical" scenario does that coach say he helped HSC back door its way to a title? Should that coach give back his championship ring? Or does he wear it to his next coaching job interview?
