yep, that L to W&L is making it difficult for our Tigers and it should.
lets see if the odac can get really crazy the next four saturdays.

JK reported from the WL website the overall records of teams from the commonwealth who had over or close to over 500 wins. HSC has won 543 lost 450 and tied 38 games in their history. Coach Favret has coached about 15% of all games ever played by HSC. But he's won over 21% of the games ever played. Before Coach arrived HSC was only 26 games over .500. Pretty impressive.

Time for your weekly odac predictions.

H-SC wins at home over Shenandoah   35-17
E&H beats Catholic on the road    31-20
W&L holds off Bridgewater at home 24-17
Guilford buries R-MC at home 42-10

With the current top 4 all facing off against the others, this is the week of full chalk. I really only expect the W&L/Bridgewater game to be entertaining and that could be a nail biter. If W&L goes over 375 yards total offense they will win. If Bridgewater can hold them, they should have a really good chance at the road upset.

H-SC shouldn't have problems with Shenandoah at home. If it was a road game I'd be more interested since H-SC came off two draining weeks, but they are going to want a home win at some point this season and they'll get this one with room to spare...
E&H should be pretty angry. Catholic isn't good. I don't care that this is in D.C. Tutone is going to have to throw for over 400 yards if Catholic is going to win this one.
R-MC had their big upset chance last week. Home game against a team coming off two emotional wins. Got a 10 point running start and then got burned badly in the second half when W&L's quality finally appeared. I don't think they will catch Guilford napping, especially at the Quakers' place.

I agree with all of your pics JK. Below are a few ideas as to how they could all go the other way.

RMC has lost 4 straight to GC. I don't see them winning this weekend either. But one thing that could change that would be the return of their freshman QB. It would immediately give RMC a spark and might could have required a difference in preparation from GC.

WL is coming off a game where they beat the last place team on a long drive at the end of the game. They might have some back of mind thoughts as to how good they really are. BC feels like they gave away the game last week to GC - a team expected by many to win the ODAC. In other words, a possibly less than confident WL is playing a pissed off BC.

EH might let HSC beat them twice with a let down this weekend. I doubt it but it could happen. EH allowed 460 thru the air last week. Most of which came from late in the 2nd quarter onward. CUA has a senior QB that's a talented thrower. If he can pick apart EH and NOT have the INTs  that HSC had CUA can win.

SU is going to be another tough game for HSC. I expect an HSC win but SU can pull off the upset if they turnover HSC and run the ball. Last week HSC was able to come back because EH could not effectively run the ball and thus the clock. HSC had the ball 36 minutes to EH 24. It's not even a close game if HSC does not turnover the ball. SU has one of the best RBs in the league. He's going to have to play very well for them to win.

Did you and Regaleagle watch the same game this past Saturday ?
Glad you are back and ok. Sounds like your Quakers are still hanging.
Hopefully HSC will be 4-1 coming into Greensboro, meaning that game
will be important to both teams. We must get by SU and BC for that to happen
which will not be easy, but certainly doable. W&L is in the drivers seat with wins
against GC an HSC. Minus a significant collapse the last 4 weeks, I see nobody
catching W&L. odac is crazy, not sure it is that crazy. as of today W&L is a huge favorite
tfa2 ... it would appear not. I promise, I was on the fifty the other side of the field.  My brother, who has a PhD and studied Divinity at Duke and Oxford in England, taught me a word that also applies here:  hermeneutics, people see or read the same thing and get completely different interpretations.  Quakers are prepping hard for every game, but realize they need help to be the ODAC champ ... c'est la vie.  In the last four games, GC has three at home (RMC, HSC and E&H) and CUA on the road.  Five and one after two home games and four road games is still good.  I agree, I hope a lot will be on the line when HSC visits on November 7.  I'm okay, just awfully busy with many things ... thanks for your concern and kind words.
Look Herman Neutic.   Saw it live saw it on film. The eye in the sky does not lie! It was a BS call. Besides that the guy who threw it was way out of position to see anything.

Well, gee, why didn't you say you saw it live AND on film?  I guess I have no choice but to concede!  Wait, so did I!  Purely puerile, eaglet.  Good luck this weekend.

To get back to the ODAC I was thinking about Catholic leaving again and it sent a cold shiver down my spine. The only two leagues, remotely close to the ODAC, that will probably have open dates the 3rd or fourth week of the season are the Liberty League in NY and the SAA across the entire Southeast. The SAA loses Wash U and Chicago the same year we lose Catholic, going to 7, and the Liberty league also loses members dropping to I think 6 teams in a few years. Every other conference until you get to the MIAA or the Texas conferences will have started conference season by then. This is not good.

I know some of you are opposed to SVU, but all I can say is SVU's longest ODAC trip, to Guilford, would be an hour shorter than their shortest NJAC road trip, to Frostburg. Anyone want that week 11 bye week W&L had one year? Yeah, that's real helpful for a good season.

Maybe we can set up a Week 3 or Week 4 ODAC/SAA challenge. I call W&L and Birmingham Southern! But who draws the short straw to go to Hendrix or Millsaps? I bet Guilford, who tries not to go more than 10 miles from home, will just love those bus rides!

Remember Brevard is supposed to be moving to DIII so they will likely either join the ODAC getting you back to an even number or they will join the USAC putting us at an odd number and make some nearby open dates to match up.

I actually think Brevard might try for the SAA, ruining everything. They have the profile of the SAA schools and the travel wouldn't be any worse than what they currently do.

I don't know. Looks like most of their schedules are pretty well contained within the western half of NC, upstate SC and eastern TN.

I guess you are right. Somehow my brain got stuck on that trip to Southern Utah!

Yeah, that one kinda stuck out.  ;) I wonder if they had scheduled College of Faith and had to find a last minute replacement there or something.

Maybe it was a money game? Or maybe Brevard does what some other schools do and they get one big travel game per year. W&L works that way in most non-football sports. And I think if you win the ODAC that trip gets even bigger, even if it doesn't happen in the next year. Football, I think, is too hard to work this way with games scheduled too far in advance.
