you are correct. Mr. Ferguson had many touches as well. baseball is the sport that ruined him for his senior year.
minus that knee injury his records would have been even more impressive.

The thing that I remember most about Mr. Ferguson......to look at him it was hard to believe how great a back he was. He was not big.....not particularly fast.....but it was amazing how hard it was to knock him off his feet. Weebles wobble but they don't fall down. He had a pretty good cast around him and I seem to recall he also had a pretty good blocking back aiding him.  ;D

I am sure the HS streak over GC will end at some point......hopefully it continues one more year. (Sorry Hasa) If the Quakes beat the Tigers....I too will be pulling for them to beat E&H and get the (unlikely) at large.

and that blocking back has the aches and pains associated with the position, including short term memory loss !!!!!

Huge game day today. Can W&L wrap up the conference with a week to spare? Can Catholic finally win in Lexington in their penultimate trip? Who will keep their Pool C hopes alive? Guilford or H-SC. More important, can Guilford break their H-SC curse? Is R-MC ready to show more progress? Can Shenandoah stop their game killing mistakes and not play at the level of their opponents? Is Bridgewater done after losing 4 straight? Can E&H rebound from being soundly beaten by the Generals at home?

The ODAC hasn't been an "anything can happen" league this year after W&L established themselves in the top tier. Is this the weekend the conference reverts to form? Or is this a top 4/bottom 4 league the way it has been so far this conference season?

Isn't this CUA's final trip to Lexington?  I thought they play W&L in DC next year.

This should be a revealing day in the ODAC!

E&H is just unloading on Shenandoah. That is ugly.

W&L is holding Catholic in check. W&L gave up a safety after Catholic downed a punt on the W&L 1 foot line. 62 yard punt. And then Catholic picked up a field goal on the ensuing short field. Catholic is averaging 2.8 yard per play. That's not going to get it done. W&L has picked Tutone twice and is playing a modified lineup.

Just a guess, but Coach Abell knows if they make the playoffs he's going to have to give 2 weeks of game tape. I'm thinking Catholic, and if they win, next week at Shenandoah will be interesting game plans. So far it is working.

H-SC and Guilford look tied at the hip at halftime. Stats look pretty even. RMC is handling Bridgewater although all I can point to is the 2 takeaways RMC is taking advantage of.

jknezek

Officially the word is that W&L starting QB Charlie Nelson and RB Marshall Hollerith are out with injuries. It isn't making a bit of difference.

jknezek

W&L's backup defense can't hold Catholic out as Tutone just keeps tossing balls around the field. Game will end 52-33 but it wasn't that close. The Generals left no doubt about who was winning this one and taking the ODAC crown.

Next week will present it's own set of challenges. But hopefully the thought of a perfect season, and W&L's first ever 10 win season, will keep the intensity up this week.

Watched some of the game. My one takeaway is that the left side of BC's DL couldn't stop the run.

Yeah. I was just looking at stats. Big week for the ODAC. W&L comes through and takes the championship. Guilford gets the H-SC monkey off their back with a huge win. R-MC is peaking before The Game just as H-SC has their hearts broken. E&H just looked angry or Shenandoah just looked helpless. Interesting, but the top 4/bottom 4 stays perfect. An interesting year in the ODAC so far in that it looks more like other D3 conferences. We'll see what happens in the last week.

Something tells me H-SC is not going to like the game they are going to have to play against R-MC to come away with a win.

It was the penultimate meeting for W&L and CUA, but you are correct, it is their last trip to Lexington.  Next year should be in DC.

Yeah. For some reason I thought Catholic was staying 2 more seasons. Oh well. I can live with them never winning in Lexington!  ;D

OK Quakers. No let up in the last week please! W&L needs to take care of their business and they need you to take care of business as well!

I believe the Quakers are a motivated team, but E&H looked as though they were on a mission today also.  I bet the Wasps haven't forgotten the GC comeback of 2013 ... the Quakers were down 31-0 with about 24 minutes to go and got the winning 42-yard TD with about 19 seconds left ... 35-31.

This team wants to win!
