Congratulations to the Generals ... 9-0 and an ODAC title are quite the accomplishments!

Your research see ANY chance of a late NOV game?

Despite what they did to Shenandoah, E&H is not in the same class as W&L, Guilford, and H-SC. If the Quakers play their game they should win.

Yes, I think we have a chance.  Beating HSC today was huge and beating E&H next Saturday is a must.  Our SOS will go up today and a couple of our opponents (Greensboro and Averett) won today, so that helps too.  I think we could move up from our current #7 status in the South Region,  I hope we're somewhere in the 5-8 range for teams in consideration.  Wesley losing today didn't help and we have to hope Mt Union beats John Carroll and W&L goes 10-0.  I have to think UMHB will get a spot and a second WIAC team.  We still have a chance ... I hope the selection committee will take note we lost a game on the road to an undefeated team when we lost our QB and they hit a school record FG.

Can Catholic finally win in Lexington in their penultimate trip?

Isn't this CUA's final trip to Lexington?  I thought they play W&L in DC next year.

This should be a revealing day in the ODAC!
It was the penultimate meeting for W&L and CUA, but you are correct, it is their last trip to Lexington.  Next year should be in DC.

Yeah. For some reason I thought Catholic was staying 2 more seasons. Oh well. I can live with them never winning in Lexington!  ;D

Maybe W&L will bag on the 2016 game like they bagged on playing Catholic their first year in the ODAC.

Have to see the Regional Rankings this week. They should end up with an SOS near W&L's and 0-1 versus RROs. Who they will be behind in the South Region on coming to the table will be key. If they can't jump in front of Moravian they are toast. If they do get in front, then it becomes a matter of how they stack up versus the other regions. The East will be hurting for anyone to get through, even the North isn't that strong but will have a few 9-1 or really good 8-2 type candidates. The problem is the West is chock full of really good candidates.

Guilford should hope Salisbury loses to Frostberg, giving the NJAC AQ to Wesley. Wesley at 9-1 in Pool C from the East is pretty much a given at some point and will look better than Guilford. UMHB/H-SU is probably going to be a 1 loss looking better than Guilford depending on the Regional Rankings. SJU, Whitworth, UWW are probably all 9-1 looking better than Guilford. So you are looking at 4 or 5 there at least. With only 6 slots Guilford will need some help. Then you get to some pretty handsome 8-2 teams like UWP, CWRU, and TLU.

It's not impossible, it's just hard to imagine given the possibilities right now. I'll be pulling for the Quakers and Generals again this weekend and hoping it works out.

Contractual obligations Pat! That game in '99 probably would have been in Lexington though, so that is interesting. Given the history, maybe Catholic dodged a bullet.  ;D

The South is looking pretty weak & the West is ,like you said chock full of really good candidates.  A strong possiblity that Mount Union goes east and the UWO goes north. This still leaves Linfield, St. Thomas,UWW, SJU and possibly UWP in the west. At 8-2 does the committee give the WIAC 3 teams in by rewarding UWP or do they give it to Witworth at 9-1? We will know next week. It should be interesting.
As of now they're on DOUBLE SECRET Probation!

Or, unwillingness to defer a game for a year, unlike others.

Could be. I never really looked into it despite it being my senior year. I know we didn't make much of it on the paper that year. Interesting we had Davidson and Swarthmore on the schedule that year, teams that are now gone from DIII. Davidson to FCS to keep their basketball team and Swarthmore to... well, we lost Swarthmore anyway...

jknezek

Well, W&L couldn't creep up and Guilford didn't quite make it in, but we are getting close to having two ranked ODAC teams at the end of the season. Could happen.

Might make the hour trip to Ashland Saturday to watch HSC-RMC game. Haven't been to one since I was a senior in high school.
What do you guys think of another USAC-ODAC first round with Huntingdon and W&L?

No can do. More than 500 miles. Huntingdon will almost certainly get matched with the SAA champ.

Good call. I forget Montgomery is like 5 hours further south than Maryville.
