And we're back to Brand instead of Hollerith? I cannot figure this out.

jknezek

Somehow 42-14 looks familiar in Cincinnati. Of course this time it's the third quarter... W&L needs a stop. Just to prove to themselves they can do it.

How was that not W&L ball? Kid fell on it in bounds. He's down at that point. Ball then squirts out later when someone else falls on him? TMC is winning because they are better, but the refs are making sure they get every break as well. The offside was a head bob for crying out loud. The defense is allowed, the qb flinching in a hard count is not.

It's not mattering overall, but they are truly awful refs.

Agreed.  The zebras were awful today and I can't remember a call that didn't help TMC

Holy cow did TMC have 2 amazing catches on that drive. The huge TE grabbing the laser behind him. No idea how he did that, and the kid getting his foot down in the endzone. Both were beautiful catches. W&L is simply out classed.

We are blessed to have skill guys with great ball skills.

At least the second half was better for W&L. Good luck TMC. Wabash is no slouch but you've got some really excellent pieces.

As for my Generals, I'm sorry the season ended on a thud. That first half was disappointing. But it was a great season and, as a fan, I can't ask for anything more. Thanks for the great memories and the amazing accomplishments. The most important, ODAC Champions! I'd trade everything that follows for being ODAC Champs, but this year you gave us all of it. 10-0 for the first time ever. Undefeated for the first time since the early 60s. The first ODAC team to go 7-0. National rushing leaders. A defense that was way above what was expected. An unbelievable offense. It has been a really fantastic turn around and I'm happy to have been able to see so much of it.

Thank you to the seniors. You've got two championships in your four years book ending your careers. While you were mainly in the unsung positions this year, those are the positions that made a huge difference.

For the returners, now you know. You weren't around for the last championship and playoff run, but now you know what they take. Use this off season to your advantage. There is so much potential coming back next year, fuel the next big run with today's first half. There are still milestones to conquer. We haven't won a road opener in most of the alumni's lifetime. I'm assuming we'll open on the road next year, so plan how to get a fast start. We've never won back to back ODAC championships. We've never hosted a playoff game, or won one. Set those goals big!

Finally, a huge thank you to all of you. You play for the love of the game, but in doing so you give us old guys some great memories. Enjoy the school year. For those who graduate, congratulations and good luck in your next step. I can't wait to see what you guys do next in your lives, in your academic career, and, for those coming back, in your next season.

Me either, but that was not the problem... I've posted it in a few places, but congrats. That was a really good performance. Good luck next week. I'll be pulling for you!

Jk

Sorry for the lose, still a great season for W&L.
Unfortunately, more of the same for the odac come playoff time.
Sounds like W&L will be competitive again next year so much to look forward to and much to be proud of from the 2015 season. Difficult to go 10-0, even in the odac.

Yeah. It certainly didn't go according to how I drew it up! That first half was a worst case scenario and it all went bad. I'll be interested in how TMC does against Wabash. Next year is too far away. I'm still basking in the joy of this year...

I've got a feeling Wabash is going to be hard to beat at home. I'm sure TMC is good but I doubt they have seen a defense like the one one they'll see on Saturday. Now I'm pulling for Wabash since they are the only team left HSC faced this year, plus I think they are very good.

This is one of the more intriguing match-ups of the second round to me (in addition to Wheaton/Whitewater and the Tommie/Johnnie rivalry).  Listening to the podcast, it appears that Pat agrees.  If I had to submit my picks right now, I would probably say Wabash.  TMC is no slouch, though.  Should be a great game.

A key matchup the Saints offense will be a big test for Wabash, also.  The Wabash D is good, no doubt but with an athletic OL that averages 300 lbs and very, very good skill guys the Thomas More offense hit their 50 ppg average last week in Round 1.  I don't think they get to 50 Saturday, but they are too good to just imply they'll be shutdown by Wabash.  If Wabash blitzes and the OL picks it up, there'll be points scored.

Good luck saturday, i know TMC is good I just think they'll see something from the Wabash D that they are not accustomed to.
Forget scoring 50 as that is not going to happen but it will be interesting to see how the TMC offense performs against a very good Wabash D.

Yeah.  I didn't say they'll score 50 but do believe they'll score points if they handle the exotic blitz packages from Wabash.  The size and ability of our skill positions is very good for this level.  Frankly, we are annually very strong at those positions, the difference is the size and agility of both of TMC's lines.  Because of that, the 2015 version is our best team since the early 90's.  Maybe even the best team ever at the school.  Pretty good, I feel, since TMC is all-time winningest program in D3 by win percentage (until UMHB plays enough games to qualify).

We'll be the biggest and most offensively diverse team Wabash has played so far in 2015.
