R-MC roster finally posted. Lots of names without uniform numbers and lots of uniform numbers available to be assigned. http://rmcathletics.com/sports/fball/2016-17/roster
Noticed that as well, doesn't look complete yet.  Looking at the roster, I'm most impressed by the retention rate for RMC football, about 90+%.  That's good for the program and the school.  Probably similar numbers at other ODAC schools.

Clearly, what is posted is incomplete, but there were guys suited up with numbers on their uniforms vs Dickinson last week, so I have to think a lot of those guys have their numbers and the Spots Information staff just need to get the right numbers connected to the right guys. Hard to understand why this hasn't been taken care of already. Also, watching last Saturday on the computer it was hard to read the R-MC numbers because they were yellow on white jerseys.

Glad to hear about the retention %. Bodes well for this and future seasons.

It's your "must control everything" coach that has the roster taken down each year.  He does not want potential recruits to see who and how many players may be ahead on the depth chart.

I'm not sure what CRM is basing his 90% retention on. If it's number freshmen compared to number of seniors 38 to 30. It looks pretty good.  If it's number of freshmen compared to number of juniors -38 to 18. Then it's average at best.
WOW, lots of contempt for a coach.  But, whatever Aruzza is doing, it seems to be working against HSC over the last several years!
Success when it didn't matter to ODAC outcome. Arruza's a control freak to the nth degree.
Hampden Sydney College
ODAC Champions 77, 82, 83, 87, 07, 09, 11, 13, 14

Happy for you, jknezek ... makes the ride home a lot easier for you ... and the team!

Went to the E&H video to check on the Wasps score ... 28-14 Final over Brevard.  E&H scored in every quarter and the Tornados scored in the 3rd and 4th.

I'm sorry, but E&H is the worst at posting their scores in a timely manner.  If I was an alumnus, I'd raise cane about it.

It's the coaches responsibility to give the SIDs a roster complete with names and numbers, not the SIDs responsibility to just figure it out.

^^^ Thanks for that explanation. My apologies to the R-MC Sports Information staff if they have not been given a properly completed roster.

Thanks. That was an interesting game. It seemed like W&L did not show up to play. Both lines really got pushed around and Sewanee was very disciplined about containing the option. W&L did not find the red zone until late in the 3rd quarter. It was really a struggle. Very much like the RMC game last year, it showed up as a trap game and W&L had to gut it out in the end to spring the trap.

The Generals put the ball on the ground 4 times and were lucky not to lose it but kept putting themselves behind the sticks. Sewanee also went without a turnover. It didn't look healthy for the Generals and they will need to do better next week, let alone once the conference schedule starts.

RMC looked very good today, and HSC looked worse than I've seen in years.

Yes, the Jackets looked good, but I think it's often hard to tell how good a team is from that kind of game. The write up on the R-MC website mentions mostly sophomores who had good games or made big plays. If they keep up that level of play this season and stick around for two more the Jackets could make some noise in the ODAC for a few years.
With a common opponent in Averett, we'll know next week how to compare RMC and HSC.
44-10 RMC, looking good for the Jackets.

^^^ Yes. R-MC played well on both sides of the ball again and Averett self-destructed with penalties multiple times when on offense after scoring all their points in the 1st quarter and was never able to accomplish anything after that to give themselves confidence. You can see that Avertett has some good offensive threats, though. Great win for the Jackets.

Guilford's De'Eric Bell set a school record with 295 yards rushing on 29 carries in the Quakers 47-32 win over Methodist.  He had 69- and 91-yard TDs and tied the school rushing record with four scores.  The Quakers led 38-6 and dived at the goal line for another score, but Methodist got a 100-yard TD on a fumble return.  On the ensuing PAT attempt, Guilford got 2 points on a 98-yard return.  MU closed the gap to 47-32 with a 6-yard pass as time expired.  The Monarchs were a tougher out than Greensboro, but MU's 26 4th quarter points on a couple of turnovers made it closer than it should have been.
