Two fellow Guilford alumni and I are making the drive up to Danville from Greensboro tomorrow for the 6pm kickoff of Guilford at Averett.  I believe the Quakers have the horses to win, but I don't know quite what to make of the Cougars:  which team will we see, the one that beat the Tigers or the one that got stung by the Yellow Jackets?  On the flip side, Guilford's had 7 great quarters and one where they got sloppy versus Methodist.  The final was 47-32, but should have been more like 55-13.  We'll see.  Safe travels to everyone and I'll report in tomorrow night.

Good luck. If your Quakers play ball the game should be a "no contest".

Hopefully my Tigers can figure a way to beat the FC Panthers and avoid a 0-3 start. Damn, have things changed this quickly ? we are going to find out !!!!

Anyone think there are some ODAC assistants on the "short list" for the CNU job? Dare I say it, an assistant from H-SC?
Do they stay with a guy from Virginia or someone with NJAC experience?
Maybe a coach from a higher level?

They've had a lot of success. I'm not overly familiar with their staff, but if they have someone from Coach Kelchner's tree in-house they like I'd put my money there. I think the offensive coordinator has been there a long time, but he may be retirement age as well. I'm not really sure, but I thought the D Coordinator is pretty new to staff and young.

All speculation on my part. I have no idea. But Coach Kelchner has been that program, so it wouldn't surprise me if they want to keep it to his coaching tree if possible.

Thanks.  The Rusiewicz era has certainly changed things at Guilford, but I still think the HSC Tigers are a viable contender.  At any rate, I wish all ODAC teams success in OOC competition.  Good luck to HSC versus Ferrum!

I cannot wait to see two games tomorrow Guilford vs Averett & RMC vs Methodist. I watched both games last week and I am not sure if Guilford and RMC were that good or if Averett and Methodist shot themselves in the foot. This will be a good test for all 4 teams. I'm looking for good games. Go USAC

Steve, these games should tell us something about the ODAC vs the USASAC, but they should also be a barometer of strength within the conferences since all will be common opponents.  I agree, can't wait!

I've counted around 5 starters out for Maryville against E&H today..

Why is the FC/HSC game in Salem?  Looks to be about 10 people at the game.  Seems like a waste.

Looks as though the USASAC is poised to take the ODAC today.  If the scores hold up, it's 3-1 with Guilford at Averett still to go at 6.

Final: R-MC 34, Methodist 16. Is that the "1" in your 3-1? Never mind. I see that it is. Wasn't sure if Ferrum was USAASC. Hope GC can make it 3-2.

They refused to play HSC at home. HSC had nothing for Ferrum in second half. 4 Turnovers, 70 yards passing, negative 19 yards rushing in 2nd half. For the game HSC Defense gave up 7.17 yards per play.

If it can go wrong it has. Leading rusher quit the day before season, senior center out today, leading receiver out today, 2 captains out for year.

The Tigers have got to figure things out over next 2 weeks.
