Huntingdon and Guilford have announced a new 4 year deal for Week 1 games. At Huntingdon next fall to begin.
I have to believe former Guilford player and men's basketball assistant coach Caleb Kimbrough may have helped broker this.  He was Tom Palombo's (mbb HC and AD) #1 assistant for six years before moving to Huntingdon.  Caleb will be Assistant HC this season and is slated to assume the HC position for the Hawks next season.

Congrats to RMC. Better team clearly won The Game. RMC has won 5 of the last 6 and 3 straight. Good for them/shame on us !!!!

I heard this weekend that Apprentice is going to fill the CUA spot on the schedule for all/most ODAC teams.

Anyone else heard this?
Hampden Sydney College
ODAC Champions 77, 82, 83, 87, 07, 09, 11, 13, 14
NCAA Playoffs - 77, 07, 09, 10, 11, 13, 14
The "Game" 60 wins and counting...
11/18/2018 Wally referred to me as Chief and admitted "I don't know about that!"

I know they are for Emory.  Not sure about anyone else.  Congrats to RMC.  Represent the conference well in the playoffs.  Waspers, learn from the first part of this year and bring home the title next year.  A lot to build upon based upon the 2nd half of the season.

And people were complaining about adding S VA. At least they count for D3. I've got nothing against apprentice, but this is a bad trade.

this is the sad reality of needing 4 ooc games. just not enough teams to go around. if odac does not fix this soon, only bad things can happen, 9 game schedule for some if not most odac schools. I hope odac has a plan to add another football playing school. my guess is not much has/will happen. could lead to football playing schools splitting to form another conference(hope not) but I could see it as a possibility.

Considering the five ODAC men's programs not offering football, which programs might add football for any reason?

tigerFanAlso2

none, have to add another f'ball playing school.

S VA is in its second year in the NJAC. They most likely had to sign a contract for a certain number of years. I have no idea if they did or didn't but it would make sense.

the choices would include SVa, or several others currently in the USASA that might be tired of the travel.
best of all worlds if a current odac member non football school would start a program, not holding on to false hope.

Anyone handicapped the R-MC/JHU game?  We have typically done poorly against the Blue Jays, though I like our chances this year much better than the previous ones.

Jk might have some insight into the JHU vs. RMC game as W&L played both this year. I'd guess 17 points. I'm hoping RMC gives them a game and wins one for the odac. God knows odac needs to improve playoff performance.
RMC defense will not be as successful against a solid balanced attack. Looks to me they can stop the run and/or pass but not both consistently, that is my take only having seen them once. I have no clue regarding their offense because I only saw them vs. HSC's defense which is not very good to say the least. Good luck.

JHU's offense was the best we faced all year. Big line. Really good running back and a pair of excellent receivers.   The QB was accurate and patient. They will be balanced and physical. I think RMC's defense can play with them, but I don't think the RMC offense I saw can score on them. Now maybe the QB switch has made that big of a difference, but I think RMC will end up wearing out there own defense by not staying on the field. My guess is a close low scoring game at halftime that JHU wins by two or three scores in the end. Hope I'm wrong.

Appreciate the analysis.  I'd like to see us win as well, but I'm having to manage expectations.  It gets old seeing the ODAC standard-bearer getting walloped in the first round every year.

Can anyone assess as to how the Centennial stacks up to the ODAC in football (we seem to have a similar school make-up)?

Here's some statistical breakdown of the matchup (all numbers below are adjusted for opponents' quality).

My model has JHU as a 10-11 point favorite. JHU has the #7 scoring offense in the country & #50 scoring defense. RMC is #111 in scoring offense and #11 in scoring defense (that Jacket D is the real friggin deal).

Johns Hopkins Breakdown:

Randolph-Macon Breakdown:

RMC's D appears to have the upper hand if JHU wants to try to run the ball, and over the air it seems like the RMC D and JHU O are about equal.

When RMC is on offense, it's very much strength vs. strength and weakness vs. weakness, but JHU's strengths & weaknesses are a little better than RMC's.

Seems to me like a good game plan for RMC would be to force JHU to run the ball to shorten the game, and isolate your biggest strength (rush D). The more possessions, the more likely JHU's slight advantages will be able to manifest into larger scoring margins.
