Hey, y'all. I'm a recently graduated player from the SAA and I've just moved to DC. I'm really interested in checking out the two teams in the city when the season gets going. Anyone here been to a game at Catholic/Gallaudet that can speak to the atmosphere/experience?
CUA had the worst tailgating in the ODAC. They will not allow tailgating before 11:00 and they do not allow tailgating after the game. They also don't have visitors stands. I know nothing of Gallaudet.
I went to a Guilford game at Catholic in 2015 ... as HSCTiger fan said, there is limited opportunity to tailgate and zero visitor stands, but I did enjoy walking through campus and visiting the Basilica.  Can't speak to the Bison, but would be interested to see how they call plays without an audible QB snap count.

Watched W&L scrimmage Brevard today. Looks like the Generals came away healthy with no new injuries.

What did Brevard look like? Only thing I know about them is they used to be a triple option team, but they have a new coach this year.

They have some really good athletes but young. Lost most of there scholarship players and had to load up with freshmen.

Looked like a spread offense to me. Went under center in an I a few times near the end as well. Their line is big and the QB will run. He was in a red jersey today.

How was W&L in the scrimmage ?

I thought W&L did well. 1st team offense was clicking on all cylinders most of the time. Saw some speed from a few freshmen that was encouraging. 1st team O-line made more blocks than they missed. We need more depth on the line, but then again I'm sure every team can say that.

Defense was stout. I lost count of how many sacks they got. Brevard had some positive plays but not many.

I was most impressed with our freshman FG kicker. He seems to have a strong leg and will fill that position well.

CNU scrimmaged R-MC on Saturday and I heard the Captains did well...anyone know anything?

Ok, stupid question time. How is Guilford pronounced? I have always pronounced it as Gilford with the first part sounding the same as guilt. The USA South has been releasing team previews one a day for the last week and a half and finally got to Huntingdon today. At the end when the girl was telling who our first game is against she pronounce it Gulford with the first part sounding like gull. Which one is correct?

Not much preseason love for the ODAC coming from Kickoff 2017. Issue rates/projects the ODAC as follows;

E&H  #75 to finish 7-3,4-2
W&L  #79 to finish 6-4,4-2
GC    #86 to finish  5-5,4-2
BC    #94 to finish  5-5, 3-3
RMC  #99 to finish  6-4,2-4
SU    #114 to finish 4-6,2-4
HSC  #123 to finish 4-6, 2-4

Hopefully ODAC will be better than projected. Need some quality ooc wins.

Kinda embarrassing the girl butchered it so bad. Assuming she works for the USA South and has some degree of knowledge on the NC-D3 landscape, she'd know it's Gill-, not Gul-. The USAC office is in Fayetteville which is home to Methodist. To top it off, MU and GC play each other OOC. I'm sure she would have heard it said before.

or Guilford so high. GC went 0-6 in conference last year but are projected at 4-2 this year. They have 4 of 6 odac games at home so that might be possible, but all said, if they finish 4-2 that is one hell of a turn around. Let's get the season started and we'll see. HSC scrimmages Greensboro tomorrow. If HSC can't control the line of scrimmage vs. those guys, could be another long year. Fingers crossed.

If HSC can't control every facet of the scrimmage against Greensboro it could be a very long season. They are projected to be the worst team in the South Region I believe.
