I'll never understand why people need to use football as a reason to be mad about stuff.  I mean, I'm genuinely sorry you've had a rough go here lately, but to get this bent out of shape over the preseason ranking of your favorite football team is such a waste.  It's supposed to be recreation, man.  Relax and enjoy it.  And when HSC wins the ODAC this year, you can have a week long Post Patterns parade about how wrong the Kickoff guys are.  It'll be a blast.

How "bent" am I Wally?  You should not make assumptions about my state of mind. I'm far from "bent". I enjoy the banter.  By the way, it's funny to me when a guy that has posted over 9000 posts tries to tell me that I'm ranting (less than 800 posts).

I also find hard to understand why you give a damn how I feel. Happy or "bent". I guess it's just an excuse to post something else. The most damming thing I've said is that their choice of ranking HSC so low was that it was a "mystery". I called it a mystery Wally!  I'm so bent.

But ranking HSC dead last was an oversight or lack of understanding. 

I mean, that's a pretty direct shot at the integrity of the people that did the legwork to preview the teams in your league and put together the rankings.  That's undeserved.

Come on Wally. That's pretty mellow. An "oversight" or "a lack of understanding" isn't really fighting words or a personal attack. Now I think calling people out without buying the product to read the actual justification is pretty soft, but these aren't exactly fighting words. If you are going to be in any kind of journalism, especially the kind where you do subjective rankings like this, you need a thicker skin than letting "lack of understanding" get to you. Then again, you really don't need to take any crap from someone who isn't a customer. So maybe you both can just laugh it off and move on before this molehill turns into an annoying mountain?

I mean, that's funny. Here's a direct shot you don't know me or what I am thinking. And unlike the NCAC board I'm not going to agree with everything you write. Unless I do. We (the regulars) seem to get along pretty good on the ODAC board. I'm sure I annoy them from time to time, maybe with every post. But we are on a board with varying views. Which to me makes it fun.

Sorry for the loss of your brother.  It's my first time losing someone so close. It's not been easy. But my dad had been sick for a while, I could not imagine losing a sibling. 

wouldn't wish it upon anyone..

I've just tried to stay really busy with work and I played 90 holes of golf last week while my bride and daughter were out of town.

I just get a little too irrational when it comes to Pat and the boys of this website.  I've had the fortune to help with some broadcasts/podcasts and the amount of work they put in.... its pretty cool what they do, in my opinoin.   That doesn't mean they are always right.  I mean, look at the PAC preview:  They didn't pick the squad who will be the PAC Champ in 2017 and didn't even put them in the playoffs.

I think this year will be real hard on predictions, but I'm willing to play the fool.

JHU beats W&L by 17  41-24
Bridgweater beat Gettsyburg by 10 24-14
RMC beats Dickinson by 21  31-10
E&H beats Ferrum by 10   30-20
HSC beats Averett by 7    35-28
Huntingdon beats Guilford by 17   34-17
Shenandoah beats Gallaudet by 21   28-7

thanks, Averett making me nervous. If HSC does not get that one probably looking at 0-3 start; I think 1-2 start would be pretty good going into conference play. If W&L puts up 24 on JHU, I'd think ODAC results will be favorable for the Generals. Love to see you guys bring JHU down but as we all know, JHU is a very tough out.

Averett definitely took a step forward last year. But the game is at H-SC, and I don't think the Tigers are going to be surprised again. Further, while H-SC hasn't had the prettiest trajectory the last couple years, I think they at least stabilize this year. Plus, if H-SC does lose this game, it's going to be a real rough start to the season and deep in their minds, the players have to realize they need a strong opener.

  The Game, 2015. HSC held the Jackets to 14. Unfortunately, they held our guys to 9.
