I think W&L decided to take out the frustrations over last week's loss at JHU on our team this week.    Final was W&L 63 - Sewanee 30 but it wasn't even that close as W&L was playing backups and their backups most of the second half.

Excited about the 25-23 win for Bridgewater over #18  Thomas More.

You should be. It was a big win. We will see how Bridgewater does. TMC had about 120 penalty yards and out gained Bridgewater 2:1 in yards. The important number was on the scoreboard but I'm not convinced this moves Bridgewater to the top of the ODAC contender list. We will see.

Heck of a nice surprise upset. Congratulations Eagles.

7 - personal foul/unsportsmanlike penalties on TMC.

Can't win doing stupid things like that.

Congrats to BC.

Me too!  I always pull for the Eagles. I miss the Stone Station guys and the tailgating.

ODAC game of the day has to be BC beating TMC, 25-23.  Nice job, Eagles.

I was also mildly surprised with how handily SU beat NC Wesleyan ... Hornets put up 61.  Wow.

Guilford beat Methodist 56-17 ... honestly it should have been more like 73-10.  Miller threw 4 TD passes and Bell had a 98 yard kickoff return for a TD.  My friend Cliff and I made it a doubleheader at 6 pm ... we drove to Buies Creek and watched the Georgetown Hoyas squeak by Campbell, 16-10, on a fumble recovery for a score with 1:35 to go.

The other ODAC games went about as I expected for 6-1 day, including 4-0 versus the USASAC.  CNU is a tough road game ... HSC is to be commended for a challenging second game.

We will find out what kind of team W&L has as we travel to Calf. to face CMS this upcoming weekend. Against Sewanee the offense was a machine accumulating close to 600 yards. Defense was good, bending but never breaking.
Overall yesterday went as expected but the Generals got extra motivation due to the entire Sewanee team walking the field and thru the Generals as they warmed up prior to the game.
Beautiful weekend in Lexington. Now it's time to head West young men.

A lot of the guys got a nice break in the second half. Hopefully we will be rested. We owe CMS one after last year. We need to find some pass defense. We've played bend but don't break for a long time, but there are certain down and distances where I'd like to see our guys play tighter and get off the field occasionally. We've let both JHU and Sewanee pick up third and longs way to often. I mean 3rd and 7+ it feels like opponents make it more than they don't. If we want to win the ODAC, that has got to be tighter. Can't count on the offense scoring 40+ every game.

Beautiful weekend in Lexington.

I arrived late and missed this!  I now understand the "tension" between the teams.  Generals could have rushed for 700 yards if they wanted, complete control.

Generals had 4 picks and could have had more... I agree that 3rd down wasn't good.  I didn't feel like W&L brought as much pressure as they had in the first game.  Hard to take risks when your O is scoring tds and D holding them to field goals. Also hard to judge the Generals in the second half with so many young players out there.

I still don't think W&L has played their best.  They will need to play better to win an ODAC title.

Bridgewater #41 in the d3 football.com poll with 3 vote points. Guilford on the board with a vote point also good for #43.

Very true Pat. However, when the ODAC pick ems come out, BC will be tied for #35 and Guilford #43. Some votes were accidentally attributed to Bridgewater State and not BC. BC has 8 vote points.

If that's the case stop listing them according to the number of votes they receive, otherwise we'll continue drawing our own conclusions.   ;)
