Gee, I'm not trying to start a major argument. Passing efficiency is determined by a formula that figures in touchdowns, passing attempts, completions, yards and interceptions. Seems to me to be a good measure of a quarterback.
One particular QB may have more yards passing, another have more touchdowns and yet another have a better completion percentage.
I like passing efficiency but you may use any stat you desire. Your guy sure has impressive numbers.
Not saying our guy is better in every category, just better in the stat that combines the various elements of passing.
Hey, I have a lot of respect for standout players with standout numbers, not just Mount Union players.

I know what passing efficiency is, I don't need any explanation.  My guy is not the SU QB, my guy graduated 3 years ago.  I was simply pointing out some of the value of the the WL SU game. I don't think many were confused and I don't think many were offended.  I guess could have said the nation's 58th best QB in efficiency rating, but that just didn't seem to have the same zing.

It will be very satisfying to watch HSC flip from a 3-7 to 7-3. I hold very little hope of Shenandoah beating W&L, but you never know what might happen. Regardless of how this weekend plays out, HSC has drastically improved in 2017 and for that the guys have much to be proud of. With the exception of the W&L and CNU games, Tigers have competed well. Fairly impressive for a young team. 2018 could be/should be interesting.
QB will return for his senior year along with most of the defense.

Honestly, you're probably better off if he doesn't. But anyway, Bauserman has quite an arm, but he has to. Shenandoah can't run and doesn't play great defense. I will say though, that I think what Bauserman has done is unbelievably impressive. Those stats, when everyone knows he's going to throw, he doesn't have a choice to throw, and he just keeps throwing, is impressive.

I mean everyone knows W&L is going to run, but there are 4 or 5 guys that carry the ball. Shenandoah has one guy tossing the ball, almost every offensive play, all over the field. And everyone knows it's coming, and no one has really been able to shut it down.

On the other hand, a qb at UMU is like a qb at Alabama. He may be the greatest thing since sliced bread, but with the exception of maybe 3 games a year, he simply doesn't have to be. The rest of the team can easily carry UMU through 8/9ths of the conference schedule most years and all but the national semis and finals. For Shenandoah, and just about every other ODAC team, that simply isn't true. There really isn't an overwhelmingly good team most seasons. Every game is a grind. And so for a qb to pretty much carry a team through the strength of his arm to the kind of season Bauserman has had, it is a truly impressive feat.

That takes nothing away from the young man at UMU, I'm just saying if Bauserman is off, Shenandoah is up a creek. If Fulford is off, there are only maybe 10 teams in the country that would make UMU pay for it.

I agree with your comments 100 percent. I obviously have a Mount Union bias. I never thought HSCTigerfan would react that way. Geez, I never thought I pushed his button. I merely stated a fact and saw things from a different perspective. Fact is, needed by the Purple Raiders or not, Fulford leads the nation in passing efficiency. That's a given!

Fair enough and thanks. I try. And you have at least 3 weeks before your team has to be ready for any serious opposition unless they absolutely don't show up for this weekend's shot at what should a blowout revenge game. I can't imagine what it feels like to go through the first 12 games of a 10 game season before finding a team that can stay within a serious butt-kicking of your starters.

The ODAC takes its lumps in the post season, but just about every game of the conference season actually matters. From the opposite point of view, what do you think? Is it more fun to have 3 or maybe 4 competitive games in a year, mostly in the playoffs, and a shot at the national title, or 10 competitive games for a conference crown? I guess I'd prefer the ODAC on a regular basis, but it would be nice to win a few playoff games.

I think the WIAC, MIAC, and CCIW guys have it right. 2 or 3 conference games every season that are a battle and a serious shot at going deep or possibly winning a National Title. But I'm always curious what the other side thinks.

And of course I'm asking from a fan point of view, obviously not the players' point of view...

Most of us wish the OAC was stronger. Your point is well taken. Even when some of the other teams had their runs, Mount still dominated. To lose 1 regular season game every 10 or 12 years is just (nuts, absurd, unbelievable, stupid, ridiculous -pick one). Marietta looked better this year. Maybe John Carroll can bounce back. As far as Heidelberg and Ohio Northern are concerned, they should contend again. With your knowledge of the Dlll landscape, I'm sure this is all meaningful to you. Bottom line, you're correct in your assessment of things that need to change in the OAC.
In the meantime, those of us that are older (or just "old") are having a great time with the Raiders.
For a reference, I graduated in 1957 (damn I'm over the hill). For the 4 years I was there, they won a total of 10 games, 5, 2, 2 and 1. We all know this success won't last forever, but it sure is fun now.
Ah, but I digress. I'll keep reading your posts so I can stay informed on at least some of the happenings in Dlll.

Yeah. I'm not really pointing at the OAC. They aren't the only mostly 1 team conference. I just always wonder what the fans really think. Though I guess National Titles would provide a heck of a lot of comfort against a 25? year string of almost complete conference dominance and regular season irrelevancy. Enjoy the post season. I never fail to be amazed at UMU's on-going dynasty.

How did I react?  I simply offered a counter to your point. I totally agree there's no dispute as to who is leading the nation in passing efficiency. Just like there's no dispute as to who leads the nation in passing yards.  Why is my perspective open to "discussion" and yours is not? Why is it you can make assumptions about my anger and which buttons you've pushed, when I've made no personal attacks or said anything about you? You call me angry?  Geez that deserves a Wow!
