You can say that again....That would be a great topic of discussion....biggest WTH results in recent ODAC history.  I remember a couple of H-SC's....the 2012 Catholic game and the 2013 Shenandoah Game come to mind.  I'm sure in retrospect, W&L losing to E&H last year would rank up there

yep, my son played 2011 - 2014,  I saw both of those games and did not like the result

I think this one takes the cake for me. Whenever your conference champion loses to an otherwise 0-fer conference team, it's a huge WTH moment. The HSC losses just aren't quite the same. 2012 HSC had multiple conference losses and 2013 Shenandoah had multiple conference wins. W&L had one conference loss, E&H had one conference win last year. Almost the definition of WTH...

amazing how easily (minus RMC) W&L ran through the remainder of the ODAC schedule last year

Yes. I have no idea where the W&L defense went in that game. E&H just had their number. But after that, the defense was a totally different animal. Three of the first 4 games they gave up more than 30 points, after that, the most anyone scored was 26. Though I suspect the weather played some role in holding UMU to 21...

W&L vs. UMU and HSC vs. Linfield tells me ODAC top can play with the big boys; then RMC gets murdered by RMC last nite and I start to rethink that maybe we can't.

Don't kid yourself about that UMU game. I love my boys, and they fought hard. They controlled the clock. But they got burned on just about the only passes UMU connected on. And they would have thrown a lot more had the wind and rain not been howling. W&L never even reached the Red Zone, though they got darn close a few times. But the closeness of that game had a lot to do with the conditions. On a brisk, sunny day, UMU scores a lot more and I don't think W&L gets more than a td or two in return.

AU is going to be a tough out. Fingers crossed in hoping HSC can pull out the victory.

Good luck to all ODAC teams during the OOC portion of the schedule. Lets have some success !!!!

I agree Coach Adams has done a great job in Danville.  I would like to see AU join the ODAC and make the conference even better.

The last thing the ODAC needs is another full-time member. With the exception of football, the conference is overstocked with teams. Some sports, like women's basketball, are ridiculous. Both soccer programs are now not able to do round robins. It's a mess. I'm amazed they took Ferrum as a full-time member.

Valid point.  Maybe it would be in the best suits Guilford and Averett to flip flop conferences.  Logistically speaking it would seem to be a win win.  Just something to discuss as we prepare for the best week of the year.
Guilford is not going to trade with another school to flip to the USASAC ... not sure why this keeps coming up.  The ODAC is a better historical, academic and philosophical fit ... besides the overall geographic footprint of the USASAC is terrible.

I'm in favor of keeping GC in the ODAC for many reasons. ODAC needs no further additions unless a current member leaves the conference and hopefully that will not happen. Can't speak for GC but I'm certain GC prefers ODAC vs. any other conference.
You are correct ... GC prefers the ODAC.

A few opinions

-Emory had a fluke year that was driven by poor senior leadership and bad team chemistry that started after the W&L win. They will be back in the running this year. The new QB is much more athletic than Satxon was and will work much better in the RPO.

- Shenandoah very well might win the ODAC

- I am so happy that I discovered this board. As a recent player It feels so good to be connected with the conference even if I cant make it to games every Saturday. Looking forward to a fun season!
Welcome, waspers77.  Glad to have you and we will appreciate the opinion of another former player.  +1

Defensively RMC gave up 606 yards to JHU who only had the ball 22 minutes!  That's an amazing 27.54 yards per minute, better yet they allowed a TD every 2:26. JHU ONLY ran 68 plays and had 9 TDs.  They had 0 sacks against 36 pass attempts. They also only had 1 tackle for loss against 32 rushing attempts.  Additionally, RMC had their first punt blocked for a TD. Maybe JHU is really that good or maybe Macon has a lot of holes to fill. This result surprised me with all the returning players on RMC roster.

Offensively, it looks like same old RMC (meant as compliment).  RMC was controlling the clock, running the ball and mixing in short passes. Thëy only averaged 2.9 yards per rush. Which to me is also surprising considering they return 4 on the OL and also a very talented RB.

I hope they can bookend this effort in earlier November.

^^^That's a great analysis. Of JHU's nine TDs, one was the blocked punt, one was a pick six, one was rushing and six were passing. Several times I've cited the vulnerability of the pass defense. Seems to me if you want to beat the Jackets, throw the ball. They aren't going to break up a lot of passes. Coverage isn't awful, but completions are easy to come by against them. You might not always get a lot of yards after the catch, but you can move the ball down the field and eventually get close enough to the end zone to have a chance to score.

As a Jacket fan I hate to say all that, but that's how I see it.

LET'S GO GENERALS! It's that time! I just drove thru 7 states to get to Carlisle Penn, home to Dickinson.

Show us what you got Gennies.👍

Game day in Greensboro!  Hope the Quakers have another good showing versus Huntingdon ... it's not the Hawks first trip to Greensboro since they are in the USASAC with the Greensboro College Pride, but it is the football team's first visit to Guilford.

So far W&L has looked anemic on offense. Dickinson looks very well prepared for the option.
