Congrats to all ODAC teams that posted OOC victories.

I did have an opportunity to visit HSC this weekend. Defense improved (or CNU is not that good) but the OL really struggles. Minus rushing yards again this week, QB sacked 7 times. This is a problem that needs to be fixed yesterday. If there are no fixes this is going to be a very long season.
I don't think there will be any football played in Virginia this coming weekend, the Tigers have off on September 22nd, so there is time to address this issue if it can be fixed.

I'm hoping things will improve allowing HSC to compete in the ODAC. Fingers crossed.

This is an incredibly good point. The storm track is definitely not conducive to football, but I hope it shifts north and east and hooks out to sea. We will have to wait and see. For all of our posters on the eastern seaboard, be careful and be safe. As a veteran of the 2004 and 2005 Florida hurricane seasons, and many storms growing up on the coast of NJ, don't underestimate the power and damage this storm can do!

Mother nature, the one opponent none of the teams prepped for!  It would be great if we could get Shenandoah up to Hobart and eliminate the weather from the equation.  Probably too many moving parts to make that happen.

I don't think any team from Virginia will travel this week if the storm maintains it current track. Currently the storm prediction is for it to hand over the State 4 to 5 days due to a high pressure sitting over NE. If SU were to leave no telling when they would be able to return. Hotel rooms/food for 4 to 5 days in just too expensive.

I'd say there is considerable concern among ODAC and USASAC schools about the path of Florence this week.  Having lived in this part of the world my whole life and in New Bern for a couple of years, take it seriously in your pre-storm preparations:  fill up your car with gas, make sure your phone is charged (get a car charger), get cash from the ATM, make sure flashlights work and have nonperishable food (with a manual can opener) and water on hand.  No game is worth the risk if it hits your town.  Good luck to all in the affected areas.

W&L is at home Maryville travels to us. I wonder if and when a call could be made?

E&H and Methodist just cancelled their game for Saturday.  Methodist is closing their campus beginning tomorrow morning and all activities for the week are cancelled.

Yeah. I think W&L and Mville can wait a few more days since they are inland. It doesn't surprise me about Methodist though. NC Wes will probably have to decide sooner rather than later and then Greensboro and Guilford.

On the East Region, Liberty League board we're discussing this week's Hobart at Shenandoah game and the strong possibility it may be cancelled. A cancellation would leave Hobart with only 8 games so I posted my suggested solution.

"It would be a shame if Hobart vs Shenandoah were cancelled so I'm adding my two cents for another possible solution. This would involve a third team, Endicott, which is scheduled to face Hobart on 9/22. If that game could be moved to 10/29, an open date for both Hobart and Endicott, then this week's Hobart/ Shenandoah game could be postponed to 9/22. Thank you  ;)"

Seems pretty simple (not?) but they'd have to pull the trigger soon.

It's a good solution. Just takes willpower of those involved. Winchester is far enough North that it is just barely in the cone as it exists now. If the cone doesn't shift much, the Hornets are probably the ODAC school least likely to have a problem on campus this weekend.

The more I look at it, the more I see a washout this weekend. Every game this weekend is scheduled for somewhere in VA except for Guilford at Davidson which I have no doubt will be cancelled in the next day or two.

I like this solution as well.  The schools could also wait a few more days to pull the trigger on the cancellation.  Let's call the 3 AD's !!!

I foresee Guilford failing into the 8 game category as well.  Their first game (which was a barnburner) was deemed a no contest due to Mother Nature.  With Davidson being located right in the path this could cause another cancellation.

In respect to Hobart vs SU it seems logical enough and it is a game that would be very interesting. I believe it is the last game of the two year cycle. ODAC schools will be limited on out of conference games starting next season with the addition of SV, so doubtful they will play again in the immediate future.

All that being said, the safety of everyone is bigger than the game.  Florence is lining up to be a monster of a storm for the southeast.  Hopefully, it takes a turn back towards the ocean.

W&L posted game notes for the game this weekend but also posted that Alumni Weekend activities were all cancelled. So I'm thinking they are hoping to get the game in, but expecting to cancel at some point.

It's Davidson's Homecoming, but I know they will put safety first.  For those unfamiliar with Davidson, the town and the college are about 20 miles due north of Charlotte.
