Here's another nugget, last year's HSC freshmen class numbered 55 players, but there are only 26 sophomores this year, meaning more than half of last years freshmen did not return.  That coupled with only 15 freshmen this year, what's going on in the woods of Prince Edward County?  (until games start, nothing much else to focus on :) )

I don't know how many were recruited this year. My son went on recruiting trip to RMC and after hanging for a few hours in a dorm they took a trip to Sheetz at 1:00 in the morning. On his recruiting trip to HSC his sponsor took him to a bbq and to one of the frat houses where they had a band and the girls outnumbered the guys 2-1.  You've obviously never been to HSC during the off season! :)

You are right, I've 'never been to HSC during the off season'.  But, I do know one thing that no one at HSC is doing in the off season -  watching over 'The Game' trophy.  :)

You're right about that!  I hope that changes sooner than later. Question-does RMC keep it behind the counter at Sheetz between the Marlboros and Winston's  or does Pedro keep it on his night stand?   :)

No it's certainly not.  Thank goodness.

I'm just ribbing Macon not about the size of their town but rather about what my son's recruiting trip to RMC consisted of.

To refresh their long term memories, the HSC faithful can normally see 'The Game' trophy at the Ashland Sheetz, but occasionally it resides at the Ashland WaWa.

Thanks for the update. It's been so long I wasn't sure where it was. I still have a hard time believing it's not on Pedro's night stand.

Also just a FYI the freshmen have not all been entered yet.

While I hate to come down on the side of "the enemy", not only is Farmville hardly a booming metropolis, HSC is several miles outside of town. At least RMC can say that they're in Ashland.

Unfortunately, we will never compete with KDU when it comes to entertainment factor of "big-city living"  after all they are KDU.....(Kings Dominion University).  If Pedro keeps it on his night stand because he had burning deep desire to best Marty all those years ago and now he's rolling in it, then good for him.

Macon

KDU?  That's a good one, can't stop laughing.  (not like we haven't heard that hundreds of time before).  Jealousy will get you no where.

I'm a Southside VA kid that grew up relatively close to the HSC campus (never considered going there, maybe to get away from Southside VA). I played several high school district athletic events at HSC.  So, I have all the respect for HSC and always root for HSC except when playing RMC.  I want to beat HSC at their best. I don't view HSC as 'the enemy', but more as sibling rivalry, so when I rib HSC, it's brotherly love.  Anytime HSC can beat the likes of EHC, VWU or BC, it's a good day.

I didn't realize how much I had missed the banter on these boards. Nothing like a little HSC-RMC talk to end summer. Now if only HSC could once again back it up on the football field, basketball court, lacrosse field, soccer field... well pretty much anywhere. Golf and Tennis were the only sports HSC finished above RMC last year.

So, I do see updates to the HSC roster are slowly being made.  So, my bad.  But, not sure why they'd post a 2019 roster that's so incomplete.  Most schools 'hide' the new roster until complete, or post a roster with freshmen names, often without personal details such as height, weight, hometown, etc.

I'm with you Macon.  I am a central VA guy and grew up around H-SC where I eventually went to school after transferring from W&L.  I love the banter and back and forth, and hope eventually we are back to back and forth games instead of this one sided stuff!

Several of the guys that the H-SC Football account retweeted that said they committed to play at H-SC for this upcoming school year aren't on the roster. And of the ones not on the roster that list their college in their Twitter bio, all still say H-SC. And several have tweeted and/or retweeted posts that indicate that they did in fact report for preseason. Unless they all quit or got cut already ... don't know why they would post an incomplete roster like that.

I think it's early. I've never seen a roster from HSC until after picture day. Someone has to input all that info. Maybe 5 o'clock came early on Friday and it wasn't completed. Generally, Pat and his guys report number of incoming freshmen in kickoff. Based on Pat's reaction one can assume D3 has not spoken to HSC yet or Pat has not seen the actual number.
Picture day happened several days ago.

Does anyone know when the 'virtual' media day is scheduled?  Seems to me that it normally has happened by now.
