Marty has best winning percentage of any coach in the ODAC .655 over all .680 ODAC
6 playoff appearances in 19 years
5 COY's 4 ODAC titles
15 1st or second finishes in the ODAC with one of those last year

Actually 5 ODAC titles.
No doubt, Coach Favret has been very good for HSC, but as with most things in life, what have you done for me lately?  Given RMC's recent success against HSC, I hope he stays at HSC for another 20 years.

HSC is 10-9 against RMC in Marty's time at HSC 5 to 3 in ODAC championships. So I'd be happy with another 20 like the last 20 too.

Meanwhile, Michael Clark at Bridgewater could well get his 6th ODAC title and/or 7th playoff appearance this season. He actually has a Stagg Bowl appearance on his resume.

Don't think HSC will be getting another RMC win or ODAC championship this year.  Yes, that's a strong 20-year run, but you'd have to agree that the last five years have been challenging.  As I've said before, I support HSC until the Game.

Only 3 teams have a winning records in ODAC play for the last five years. RMC, WL, and HSC.  I definitely agree that the last 5 years has seen their challenges. But it's been challenging for everyone.

Agreed, but I was talking more specifically to the HSC/RMC matchup.

Looks like BC, RMC & W&L will fight it out this year with everybody else trying not to finish last. As always the ODAC will have some upsets so anything can/will happen, but my money is on the winner of the BC vs RMC game assuming the winner beats W&L and I don't think that will be an easy task.

With my Tigers struggling it does not appear I will have a dog in the hunt but still interested to see how this plays out.

Your Generals ruined our Parents & Friends weekend. Generals have best defense I've seen from a W&L team in awhile.
Not sure how they fair against other top ODAC programs but my bet is W&L will be a tough out. Good luck the rest of the way.

To be fair, everyone looks like they have had a good defense against HSC this year

good point .... HSC offense is going no where fast .... not sure how HSC got to this point but reality is reality ..... going to be difficult for awhile to come as well ..... HSC is not getting the athletes they once did .... those days need to return

W&L may be a tough out. I have my suspicions. From what I've seen, and it's a lot less DIII football than I used to watch, I think H-SC is making other teams look better than they are. W&L has the athletes. Probably some of the best I've ever seen on the team. We will see how that translates as the season goes on. I suspect H-SC is going to take a lot of lumps this season, many of them worse than the one W&L handed out. I could be completely wrong though. I just don't have much time anymore to watch football of any kind they way I used to.

I was making this case in August when I noted the low recruitment numbers (only 26 Freshmen on roster).  HSC may or may not be getting some good athletes, but they're certainly not getting enough of them.  26 Freshmen is very low by ODAC standards (WLU may be the exception, but WLU is a different animal) and even low by HSC standards.  Not just a HSC football issue, but look at the recent past for HSC basketball, an even better case for not recruiting good athletes at HSC.  I even hear second hand (from HSC friends) that HSC has challenges recruiting quality students, athletes or not.  Don't have any real stats, so I could be getting bad info here.  Weak HSC athletic teams are not good for the ODAC, so here's hoping they become more competitive.  As much as its great to be on a winning streak via RMC/HSC, it's much more interesting if its competitive.

I'm not sure who your HSC friends are that are telling you that HSC is having "challenges" in recruiting quality students. The enrollment has been very steady for the last 23 years. According to the HSC Fact book from 1995 to 2018 this is not the case. A total enrollment of 321 in 2018 ranks as HSC's 3rd highest enrollment in that timeframe. The acceptance rate has stayed around 56% for the timeframe.  No real discernible difference in ACT and SAT scores. Which by the way are higher average scores than any ODAC school other than WL.
