What Bridgewater lost in a Dominate Senior class they gained in a ton of experienced young players. Everyone needs to note their staters played over 2 FULL games less snaps than the average. The statistics the starters put up with that amount of reps is impressive.  This was huge as it paved the way for the young players to get all that valuable experience while going 10-0.

At the 1:20 mark, there's an announcement of a new football/baseball facility as part of an $8 Million upgrade of athletic facilities, including this new building, new soccer turf field, updates to Crenshaw, plus many more overall athletic upgrades.  The addition to the Brock Center will be a two-story, 16,000-square-foot building on the north side to include: a football locker room (150 lockers), baseball locker room (50 lockers), shower and laundry facilities, recruiting rooms, a meeting room capable of accommodating 150 student-athletes, a football office suite, and coaches' offices for baseball and other sports.

Very nice. Happy to learn about this. Thanks for sharing it. The campus just keeps getting better. I was back in December of '15 for the basketball game vs Averett (a poor game for the Jackets). The campus felt to me like it had both changed and not changed. Many new buildings and improvements to older buildings, but all within the same campus parameters that existed when I was a student in the 1960s. Sort of like going to the house you grew up in and seeing the additions and renovations of different owners. A great nostalgia trip. Don't know if I'll get back again or not. Thanks again for the link.

Looks like Southern Virginia to USA South is official.

Not going to cry about that. I know the extra OOC is a pain for scheduling, but I didn't want SVa to go full membership and I'm sure they would have kept on about it the longer they were a football affiliate. ODAC doesn't need more members. Of course neither does the USASAC. You guys need to go North/South in a bunch of sports soon, at least.

That will give them nine football playing members among a total of 19 member institutions and put the ODAC back to eight football playing members. Gotta wonder what's next for the ODAC if they want nine schools with football.

Do they need nine?  I think eight is just fine.

^^^ Not saying they need nine, but I have a sense they want nine. Could be wrong, though, as I'm not privy to any information. Does make me wonder why they made SVU an affiliate member for football for this most recent season and next season.

Pat Coleman

They probably want 10 for ease of non-conference scheduling.

It looks like they are more equal in enrollment in the new conference.
But they have a lot of players from the west, so they seem flexible as to where they may want to play.

not sure I like the travel associated with playing BW and Widener ..... fans could travel to AU and CNU, doubt many will travel to BW or Widener.
I knew the contract with CNU was set to expire but did not know the AU contract was expiring as well.
2021 will mean adding a third OOC game which is not going to be easy. as bad as we are right now adding a third OOC will be easier than it once was. most schools will be lining up to play us for sure.

There's no telling what might happen in two years. Hopefully they won't be as bad in 2021 as they were this season and can surprise some people.

At halftime of the R-MC vs Mary Washington basketball game last night Jacket AD Jeff Burns was talking about multiple aspects of R-MC athletics. Among them was the fact that R-MC was very much in favor of the Neptune Bowl -- even before knowing they would be the ones playing in it. Coaches and players liked the idea of another game. He also said that Apprentice might not always be the opponent for the ODAC representative and mentioned CNU as a possibility.
