A fine gentleman and a great icon for BC and all of DIII.  Coach Clark recruited my son and he will be a tough act to follow.  Good luck to him and his family.

RMC continues to expand its academic offerings:

https://www.rmc.edu/academics/pa

Overall, I think there was a reckoning coming for many institutions of higher learning for years.  Online institutions and rising cost were always challenges for many colleges and universities.  But, survival has been exasperated by COVID-19, and moving forward we will see an even bigger distinction between the 'haves' and ' have nots'.  This will eventually have a huge impact for many DIII colleges and thus DIII athletics.  I'd encourage everyone to support the institutions they love including their DIII institutions.

PA program is a good one to have. It's growing rapidly, along with many types of nursing professions, because they can generally provide the same level of primary care for a fraction of the price of an MD or DO. Where I work doesn't currently have any PAs but half of providers are Nurse Practicioners now. And a place I interviewed a while back said they are always looking for a specific type of nurse because they can do everything their practice needs for a lesser salary.

RMC must be listening to us, as they just added an Applied Mathematics major:

https://www.rmc.edu/academics/applied-mathematics

As an RMC Math major, this is exciting news.  RMC not only isn't eliminating majors, but doubling down on majors such as Math.

RMC is playing long ball in the academic front.

On the sports front, given the struggles of playing basketball games, let's continue to hope for a football season.

While Guilford may have ended its basketball seasons it is apparently moving ahead with football as R-MC is hosting the Quakers on Friday at 7 p.m. Attendance is restricted, however. https://rmcathletics.com/general/2020-21/releases/20210222nltzm8

Three games tonight -- Guilford at R-MC; SU at W&L; E&H at Ferrum. Also, just noticed that SU is scheduled to play again tomorrow night at Bridgewater.

W&L/Shenandoah didn't properly mark their game as canceled but that has been rectified.

Interesting, that these are all night games?   Must be a reason, just can't think why.  It is still February in VA, going to be cold and rainy.  Why not Saturday day games?

Fields may be in use for other sports. Lacrosse would have the likely one though it also could be soccer, maybe field hockey. There are a lot of sports going on right now. Creating quite a logjam for facilities.

All sports are in season right now (unless a school has cancelled/opted out for a season). Got to balance out manpower and field availability. It gets pretty tough to make things work at a lot of school when you got 4+ going on, some may even have difficulty with 3+. And 7 pm reduces missed class time, especially for the road teams.

Thanks, guys, I had not thought of the resource angle, especially for athletic trainers.  However, for RMC, there is only a volleyball game scheduled for today, so I think in this particular case, RMC should have the resources to support a home football game.  Now, maybe it's more of Guilford needing all of its trainers to travel with their football team, leaving no one in Greensboro for a Saturday football game in Ashland.  Even with the Friday night game, I can see a Guilford trainer getting back home at 2 AM and then having a full Saturday supporting other sporting events.  I give my thanks to those folks, standing in the cold rain last night, so lazy people like me can enjoy a football game on the comfort of my couch.

So you want someone to get back home at 2 am then come back into work in the early hours of the morning for a full day of work? You must be a real joy to work for... ::)

And every school is different, but Athletic Trainers frequently travel with teams these days. Especially the higher contact sports like football, basketball, lacrosse, soccer, etc.

And you do realize that, unless Saturday is a team's day off, chances are the ones not playing are practicing that day. And practice requires athletic trainer coverage too.

If the issue is resources (as you said), I'm just saying that the reality is that maybe the trainers are working double time, nothing more.  And, appreciating their efforts.

Tigers have their first shutout since 2013! A lot to be happy about today if you're a Tiger fan. Tigers defense only gave up 64 rushing and 88 passing yards.

I watched most of the game and I agree, HSC is a much improved team over the last several years.  Let's just hope the RMC/HSC game is played.
