It is time for the ODAC to drop all the non football playing schools.

But we need Guilford for the automatic bid...

CNU got dealt a great hand to start a football program.  Great location, state tuition instead of private rates, good coaching and facilities, and a conference that wasn't very good when CNU entered the scene.

I wouldn't call them "so good" yet.  I'll hold that for when they knock off a W&J, Lycoming, BC, Texas-type team in the playoffs.

Since there were a few predictions thrown out, let me throw out my own as well.  First of all, let it be known that I am an alumn of H-SC so my bias will be apparent throughout the season.

My Picks--

1.  (It hurts me to write this) BC---The favorite untill someone can beat them.
2. HSC--Still knocking at the door.
3. E&H--New Coach should bring new enthusiasm.
4. RMC--No real basis for this pick, apparently they have a strong class coming in.
5. CUA--Improving.
6. W&L--They do have a good defense, but what about the O?
7. Guilford--Maybe they will win a couple.

SO there you go.  Hopefully Sydney will get tired of knocking on the door and finally just kick it in.

This should be a fun season folks.  I am looking forward to interacting with the fellow posters this season.

Overall,  The ODAC let the USAC take a more prominent role in the south region then what it should. Ferrum and Shenendoah should be members of the ODAC. It Could have helped out the conference a lot by having them. They definitly would be more competitive than Guilford.

oh, cool... i gotta find that new button

First Congratulations Bridgewater.  What coach Clark has done at B.C. is astonishing.  You have 5 championships and have run over the ODAC for the last few years.  You have a great program run by good coaches.
A quick reminder however- You have five championships;-prior to 2001 your last one was in 1980
Just seven short years ago you were the door mat of the league.  So be respectful of the teams that didn't take the 80's and the 90's off.  I'm also pretty sure that this was one of the smallest recruiting classes in recent memory.  HMMMM?
I am pretty sure Bridgewater should win the ODAC this year however a  polite  warning:  E&H has a new sheriff in town.  One with 7 championship rings, including a championship win over WHO?  Bridgewater.
At Division III it is about the players but not entirely.  E&H returns a QB who threw for 3000+ and a coach that is a defensive genius.
So don't save up too much space on your little red hats.  The glory days will be gone soon.  Good Luck and enjoy your last Championship this year.  We will see you again in 2026.

Shenandoah wanted to get in the ODAC back in 1999 I remember and have an old Winchester Star clip from it when SU announced they were adding football. I dont know why that fell through. I agree. Being in the ODAC would be a lot better for SU in terms of natural rivalries, cost on transportation ect.

Wasp;  Well put.  You didn't put too bad of a spin on it.  Very positive and not to detrimental.  Us BC Fans are riding this wave and if it happens to die this year or next it doesn't matter.  We'll be there anyway.  Just like my Family and Freinds were back in 87-90 when I was playing.  4-6; 3-7; and some I'd like to forget.  At least we beat W&L 3-1 during that 4 year stretch.

Let's put it this way....in a year or two this message board won't be dominated by EHC posters regardless of record.

Message to all E&H posters:

Once and for all, everyone associated with Bridgewater's program is well aware of it's history prior to 2000.  The reminders really don't hurt our feelings.  In fact, that makes the current situation that much more enjoyable to us.  Why not spend your energy reassuring each other (fellow E&H folks) that YOU USED TO BE GOOD.

I'm sure Montgomery is a good coach, but you have a long, long way to go to catch up at this point.  Heck, HSC said they had a "new sherrif in town" four years ago that was going to help them knock us off.  Survey says............NOPE!  And I thought you guys said Wacker was a great coach too.  Why couldn't he beat us once we got good?

And lastly Wasp13, if your going to be blinded by confidence in you new coach at least have the you know what to predict a win this year.  I mean come on, predicting a win for the season after a season that hasen't even started yet?!?!  That's weak.  The end of Bridgewater's "glory days" has been predicted every year since 2000.  I think Mike Clark and co. are well aware of where the rest of the conference is at and what, if anything, they're doing to narrow the gap.

Why is it a "crime" that BC fans enjoy our recent success?

And it makes it even more sweet considering where we came from.

Us BC fans do our fair share of complimenting other ODAC schools during our "reign" ... we have found out quickly it's "lonely at the top."  But that shouldn't keep us from enjoying it, because you E&H fans are right, it won't last forever.

E&H had 11 ODAC titles over 16 years (from 1985 to 2000) ... congrats, woohoo, that's awesome, let's do a little dance, cheers, fantastic, round of applause, etc... you all had/have the luxury of enjoying those championships for those 16 years (since the first one) and the four years following ... us Eagle fans have just learned how it feels to be the champ ... let us enjoy a little!  ;D

Shoot, where are the Yellow Jacket fans?!  They should be on here too reminding us of their four ODAC titles from the start of the conference (1976) to 1984.  Then the Wasps became the top bug the next 16 years ... now the Eagles are preying on both.  And yes, eventually, tables will turn to someone else.

It sounds like some of the E&H fans are upset that we have hats, that's right HATS.. just to stoke the fire we had them last year too..  :P  I'm sorry that E&H fans don't have a nice hat to wear around to remind them of their PAST.   :'( :'( :'(   (It's all so sad.. I can't stand it)   Maybe when E&H breaks the top 3 in the ODAC they'll get their hat.. here's hoping.

Kid,
Nice pics!  I'm sure some of the players parents appreciate seeing what their sons are up to.   Something that did scare me was how similar Henry Thode looks to Rock.  (even down to the tat and hair)  I guess Rock made an impact on BC's OL style!

*E&H fans, if you contact Kid I'm sure he can hook you up with a nice RED BC Hat for a decent price.. just remember your size when you call!*  :-*    ;D :D

Thanks wrighthall ... I've actually gotten about 10 or so emails from parents appreciating the daily updates, especially the parent from Florida.  I even got a phone call from a dad.  I just wish I had a better action-shot taking camera, lol.  Most of the pics have to be where the player is just standing there (*yawn*).  But I guess it's better than nothing!

Peggy is coming to the open practice tomorrow, so I should have lots of great action shots then :)

You would think for an ex-camera kid they would hook you up with SOMETHING down there!   Compared to last year how do the players look?

What, is Monty breeding a whole new generation of football players? :)
