If one man's junk is another man's treasure, then I suppose one man's valid point is another man's comeback.   I have no doubt that you believe all your points to be valid.

Good luck to BC in the postseason.  Until next October .... Peace

Actually quite a few of my points are meant to be invalid;however, I have been trying to refrain from posting them as much. LOL! I agree that it should be a good game and I will be there regardless. In fact I look forward to meeting you in person. That is the great thing about post patterns, it brings avid D3football fans together. I enjoy nothing more than laughing with the same guys I have been posting with over a beer on Saturdays. I have quite a few rival team's posters that I call friends. In some cases its even a double rival team's poster (*cough) Norton. ;D
Yeah, that would be great.  I respect everyone who avidly roots for their team - that's the way it should be.  Sometimes, it's more than "just a game," but I've always admired the way most d3 fans put the academic face of the competing schools first.    Then, give it all you've got on the athletic field, use good sportsmanship and later, after the game is over, be equally gracious in victory or defeat.   That's what I've taught my sons and I'm sticking to it.  lol

If any BC fan (or any other visiting school for that matter) wants a short insider's tour of the campus before the game next year, let me know.  Just look for the red '68 Nova with the vanity plate or, if I'm not driving that car, look for the GC fan enjoying Olinemom's brownies while fighting off verbal barbs from Eagle fans.  lol

haha hasanova... very good call. I like to think that every game matters... especially conference games.
I agree.

I think his point was we won't all drive 300 miles to see the starters play for two quarters and then a half of "garbage time".  Trips to Greenboro have been like that for a while.

And I'm planning a wedding next fall, and you can bet which weekend I'll choose if it comes down to missing the HSC game or driving to Guilford........

You'll need to prove a bit more before I start thinking differently.  (And you can argue all you want, but that is my perspective as a fan and it won't change until I actually see something more out of Guilford on the field.  Scoring some TD's after your down by 40 points doesn't count.)

Brian Awkard said today in the DNR that, if BC had to go onthe road in the first round, he would like to take the trip to Texas on a plane, instead of a long bus trip.  I know this is unlikely because of the NCAA rules on travel, but what a comment.  His comments were because he said "it would feel more professional" but isnt it likely that the Texas teams would pose more of a threat than either Theil or Ferrum?  I dont know much about either team really.

I agree.  That's the way everyone felt about Bridgewater for many, many years.

GCOL

Miz,
I definately understand too.  I wouldn't want to make the drive thinking i was going to win or lose by 30 points.  Ill be willing to bet after next year atleast, you will be willing to make the trip.  And if anyone out there is at our game sat. please come down on the field after the game and introduce yourselves to me.  I'd love to meet some of the people on here.  I expect you'll be there nova?

Tough Choice for player of the year.

I'm too lazy to open my email right now so I'll write it down here and email it when less lazy.

Best player
1. J.D ricca, Washington, Bublavi-impossible to break this tie..to me all of these guys could have had a chance to be good players at higher levels
4. Vogelbach
5. Martin

In context of winning
1. Washington
2. Lewis
3. Ricca
4. Vogelbach
5. Martin

Add up the points from the two polls I took from myself
1. Washington- 10 points
2. JD Ricca- 8 points
3. Bublavi- 5 points
4. (tie) Vogelbach, Lewis- 4 points
6. Martin 2 points

Kid, help a lazy man out and email this to yourself. ;D

GCOL - I certainly plan to be there for the E&H game.  I used to live in Durham, New Bern and other places, so it was a little more difficult to attend.  I've lived about three miles away from GC for the past six years (off New Garden Rd. between Bryan Blvd. & Battleground Ave.), so it's a LOT easier now.  I know your uniform number, but I don't know Trenches' number.  If he doesn't mind, let me know his as well.  Go Quakers!

PS Is the basketball exhibition game with the Italian team in Ragan-Brown tonight or in Alumni Gym as it was last year?

Here is my attempt at handicapping the South Region:

1. UMHB - 2004 Nat'l Runner-up, enough said
2. Thiel - Offensively balanced, defensively - excellent run D
3. Trinity - Not overly impressed but they win (could be below the #4's)
4. Wesley - Speed team, get them off the turf in mud they have problems
W&J - Balanced also, question there non-turf game though
6. Bridgewater - Offense is balanced, Defense hit or miss
7. Hardin-Simmons - Depends on injury, if still on 3rd string QB this fits?
8. Ferrum - Heavy run team,  issues if run game is stopped or they fall
    behind
9. Johns Hopkins - Defensive team but need to score to win

Note: In the wind and cold of the playoffs I prefer a good run team with some balance and an excellent defense. Looks to me as though UMHB & Thiel fit the mold best to move on through the playoffs.

Regional Rankings are out:

South
1. Trinity (Texas) 7-0 8-0
2. Ferrum 9-0 9-0
3. Thiel 9-0 9-0
4. Mary Hardin-Baylor 6-1 7-1
5. Wesley 6-0 9-1
6. Bridgewater (Virginia) 6-1 7-1
7. Washington and Jefferson 7-1 9-1
8. Hardin-Simmons 7-1 8-1
9. DePauw 6-1 7-1
10. Hampden-Sydney 7-2 7-2

Congrats to Sydney!

If you all don't make the NCAA playoffs, I sure would like to see you all accept an ECAC game and beat up on another CC team to finish 9-2.

. Hardin-Simmons 7-1 8-1
Kid...whats this ECAC game you are talking about? And if for some unknown reason HSU and Depauw lose this weekend...will that help HSC chances to make the playoffs?
