Maybe because none of them have been 2 deeps this year?  No must be because everyone else has better freshman. ::)

Good point as usual; however, GC always has a ton of FROSH but by the time they are seniors it wil be widdled down to almost nothing in terms of being able to slaughter other teams. They have throwing FR into the fire forever. I am not including the other teams of course and certainly I know nothing of BC but GC might get 5 studs out of the crowd, with 1 or 2 getting conference honors of some type. It may change with Keisel's recruiting classes. No stone thrown at GC because I am going off 4 years eyes on and one year from afar. Winning corrects that I suppose.

Again I will beat a dead horse. The old regime was hot on playing a freshman as evidenced by the only pre season AA in 03 (3X ODAC and ALL South too) getting about 40% of the defensive snaps so 2 FR could get the other 60%. Keep your best off the field for 60% of the time is not my idea of smart.  >:(But the D-line coach then was not a rocket scientist anyway but was good baseball player about 40 years ago.  I think the new regime will be different as evidenced by the record.

Having said that ... I'd say production wise, Vogelbach should get FOY.  All-around athlete wise, Sitterson is clearly the most versitile.

Vogelbach vs Sitterson for FOY.
Hmmm, sounds a lot like J.D. Ricca/Bublavi vs Washington for O-POY.

Sorry Kid, couldn't let that slide! :)

Kid,

You mention BC has Washington, Young, Langley, and Carter.  Don't forget about Spence.  He's a stud, too.

I knew there were five.  I forgot to mention Carter.

What a problem to have.  Too many stud RBs!

;D

Shoot ... I was just naming TBs ... Spence and Thomas would be two more, making it six backs :)

Excellent comparison! :)

Yes, I'd say Sitterson and Washington are the best all-around athletes (for FOY and POTY) but Ricca/Bublavi and Vogelbach have clearly put up the most impressive numbers within their respective positions.

Kid, couple things I was wondering about you might have some insight:

1. Is Blake Warring going to play again this year?

2. Have you heard whether either Robbie Matthews or Robbie Haun (sp.?) will be back at BC next year?

Thanks

hasanova

All these recent posts regarding POY show how difficult it's going to be for the official voters.  There are many more guys with big stats this year than there are available spots.  With a few exceptions, this is definitely the year of the Offense.  Just curious, how does average points per game in the ODAC this year compare with past seasons?

I can't say officially.  So I'll refrain from speculating.

Kid wont speculate.....so i probably shouldnt either, but Hahn has said that he plans on returning to school at BC next year.  Whether that happens or not noone knows.

weighing in notar v. devon argument,

devon was more comparable to boyle....big fast dudes who broke off big runs.

Notar was a workhorse...hand it to him 40 times...his face is always bleeding and he never got hurt....did i mention almost 60tds

Out of approximately 6 million carries i saw him get knocked backwards once and that was by this dude named Mike Cowan.

I'll tell you all about him one day. ODAC is lucky to have never seen him.

Well whether true or not the speculation on Hahn was that he couldn't afford to come back this year from a grant standpoint grade wise. To clear that up, he had grades enough to stay in school but not to keep his grant money. Hopefully a year off with proper work schedule will afford him the opportunity to come back next year. Throw him and if Craig wants to or can return and the LB situation will be excellent next year as the younger guys are getting better with the extra playing time this year.  ;)

I think GC needs to be careful. I think the last time they beat EH was about 4 years ago and they have had their number. You know some teams just have match up problems. Team A can smites team B which killed team C but team A gets knocked off by team C. Two of the EH and GC games I saw at EH were in the mud and snow and if a corner slips and falls bang you lose by 7. So if it is a dry field I like GC + 8 but history is not on their side.  OL Matthews of GC must block and block hard. Hopefully Vogelbach does not  transfer to a D1 AA or D2 school. Good luck GC-Q, smite the yellow helmets
You're right, It has been since '01 that GC won the match up.  This game is hugh to me b/c I haven't beaten them since Ive been, plus we have to win this to tie for 2nd, and it is my last game.  Im pretty sure Vogelbach isn't going any where.  If he is he hasn't shown any interest of doing so to us.  It did rain last night, but no effect even on our practice field, which has been reduced to nothing but dirt now.  The game field is unnaffected.  Good luck to everyone this weekend.  GO QUAKERS!!!!!!!

Saw a couple posts in reference to the absence of W and L posters in recent days, and I thought I'd at least chime in one more time.  First of all, is it possible to have at least 4 WR's on first team All-ODAC, because there are several deserving candidates.

Furthermore, what about Freshman of the Year.

My extremely biased vote goes to Stuart Sitterson of W and L. Want some stats....ok:

5 Rushing TD's
12 Rec's, and 270 yds rushing.

11.5 PR avg, on 27 attempts, and 1 TD
34.0 KR avg, on 12 attempts, and 2 TD's, long 98
116.0/game all purpose yds

oh, and yeah, he played defense too, with 2 pass break ups as a defensive back.

Ok, I'm done here. W and L is about to win its 7th game in a season for the first time since I was in diapers, and the program is on the rise. Great season, and see you guys next yr.

Sorry... think Vogelbach has FOY just about locked up. Although Sitterson does have some good numbers.

All you Quakes better bring some hats this weekend. I want to see RED on yellow >:(
