I did more than just drive by Guilford...

Sat down with Coach Kiesel for almost two hours today and talked Guilford and ODAC football...part of a larger piece I hope to write on the Quakers...

Looks like good things continuing to brew in G-boro.

hasanova...I'm hoping to make it down to the Soup Bowl.
Sounds good, Pat.  Thanks for the update.  Sorry for my slow reply, I've been in N. Myrtle Beach since last Wednesday morning.  Soup Bowl is Sept. 30 (also Homecoming) - I hope we'll get to say hello!  PS  Even though I'm sure you'll get in for free, I hope I can count on you to bring a few cans of food and add them to Guilford's count.  There is also a "little" friendly rivalry to see which college donates the most to the local food bank.

There once was a footballer kid
Who took a week off from the grid
He said, "I love sports
All year and all sorts,
But 'I do' is the best thing I did!"

Good luck, kid!  I hope your life together will be poetic.

To CUA alum,
the new field looks good. I stopped by last week and it will be a great playing surface for the team.  Be sure that you all make it out to the games this year.
Go CARDS!!!
BTW, Congrats Kid

Outsider,
My 15 yr old son and I treated JT to dinner (Hooters) last week while I was in Tampa on vacation. My son made me go there.  ;)  He looked great and was rock solid.  He goes to 1 Buc Place to work out in the morning, then drives over to St Pete for his internship at Raymond James.  He built a server last Thursday.  I'm pretty sure the Bucs open camp July 29th!  You still in Panther land?

Temple today hired Tom Deahn as director of football operations.
http://www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/sports/14973912.htm

He was the guy people wanted to have replace Rick Novak as head coach at Catholic in 1994. He didn't get the job. Some guy named Tom Clark got it instead. :)

That is good news for Tom!!!! and Temple is on the way up while Maryland is not going anywhere anytime soon.

I think Tom Clark was the right choice by Bob Talbot.
GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first time.  I don't know about the second time!

Thanks for all the wedding congrats!  It went very well!  I even snuck in a couple "I can't wait for football season to start to attend all the games" during the honeymoon, to which her reaction was simply "yeah, it'll be fun."  Sooooo I guess that means I'll be on the sidelines for every BC game (again). :)

Oh, and my parents (who surprised us w/ a honeymoon to Bermuda) were real sneaky.  No TV or internet at the private club we stayed at.  NOT cool!  But there was plenty to do *wink, wink* so I survived.  It was actually quite refreshing.

CBE,

I got your phone messages about being in Florida and meeting up with Jermaine, but it was a day or two before the wedding (and honeymoon) and life was a bit frantic, as shown by my last post being June 28.

I'm glad it went well w/ Jermaine! :)
