Has anyone heard from Jermaine in the past few days?  I saw that the Bucs cancelled a practice yesterday.. I can't imagine how hot it is down in Orlando.   :o    I hope the cramps have stayed away.

I heard from JT today.  He hasn't had any more problems with cramps....says he's been drinking water like a fish.  He said he's not getting enough reps at LB, but plenty of reps in the blitz packages and special teams.  He said he's been able to keep his weight up this year, even with the high temps.  He was glad to hear he was mentioned in the blog.  That's about it...he had to hit the sack.

Has anyone heard any information on the new AAFL?  Its supposed to be a minor football league based in college towns for good college players who don't make it to the NFL.  Could be a good opportunity for D3 players who want to keep playing after college.  But I don't know where any of the franchises will be based.

This was only announced July 26, but it looks as though any DI school can apply for membership.  I don't see any schools listed so far on their website.

Thanks CBE... I was just curious to see how things were going as he has several people in VA and GA pulling for him.

Congrats to Bridgewater on being #13 in the preseason poll. Guess D3football.com isn't looking for a "down year" from them.

Also noticed that Hampden Sydney and W&L received votes as well (3 and 2 respectively). No love for GC??  ;)
Funny with all the talk of who could spring the upset on Bridgewater... HSC hasn't been brought up as much (compared to GC and W&L) and yet here they are with the second highest point total in the preseason poll.

UPDATE ON GC
They are bringing some talent in!
Skill Set: I was told that due to the depth in skill, even with the WR core from last year, only one man has a starting spot set (barnette). Beyond that it's an open field... including frosh. One the last years 5 deep WR's has moved to DB and another may see some time in slot, motion, or even RB. With that being said, GC also brought in two sizeable RBs(6', 230 and 6'2 210). And from what I hear, both can ball. It looks like they are overflowing with skill players.
    Incoming O Line: Two transfers (Salisbury and Catawaba). Size of incoming group: (6'3, 260) (6'3, 320-Salisbury) (6'2, 245) (6'2, 250) (6'2, 280) (6'3, 290) (6'2, 300)  (6', 250-Catawba)... So it looks like they have addressed the O-line issue.
Defense: Of the 48 new kids listed - 6 LBs, 7 DBs, and 10 DL = 23 new Defensive recruits. This should bod well for a D that needs it.

- I also found it interesting to note that their incoming roster has brought in kids from all around (NC, FL, MD, NJ, PA, LA, TX, GA, NY, VA). In the past you'd see about 85% NC and a maybe a couple from VA or NJ.

Trenches - thanks for the GC information.  Other interesting notes from Greensboro are a change in ticket prices this year and the school's 100th recorded football season.  Guilford has been at $4 for a long time and this year general admission will be raised to $5 (many other schools already were) and the 176 new reserved seats will be $8.  Also, expect some fanfare this year to commemorate the school's 100th recorded football season.  The Quakers started intercollegiate play in 1893, but did not field a team in 1894, 1905-1915 (faculty concerns over the sport's "violent" nature), and 1943-44 (WWII).   Peace
