Well, he lasted all but one week.  Must have been tough though, he was a converted QB trying out at DB, probably the toughest position (after QB) to learn.

We are loaded with young talent at DB ... so we'll be OK.

kid,

What's you prediction on the number of freshmen who travel this year? 8?

goat317

no.  not Todd Rungren, Pakownr.  I can't login under my "normal" user ID, so I had to go to plan B.  PatCole, if you read this, would you please email me?  If this posts as being from pakownr97, then all is well.  If not, I want my identity back.  Stone Station won't recognize goat317, so I may not get fed and may starve! LOL!

I too have a question for Kid?  Where are all the posts and pictures from the Pigskin Preview?  Come on Man!  I've got the feva, and the only perscription is more cowbell!

You know I don't have much of that to go around.  As for Thursday, I'm assuming the "meeting" is still scheduled for some where/time under the lights?  They mentioned it on Lynchburg's local new last night when they were highlighting the Hargrave Military's football squad.

Doesn't seem too fair.  Bad Grades, Can't cut it in the real "college football" world.  What better place to hone your grades and get another year under your belt than at a "Prep School."  They interviewed a couple of players as well.  I'd sure like to see Bridgewater come out on top.

kid,

Probably more like 12 to 15.  Just what I've seen from practices, there will probably be a handful of offensive linemen, a handful of defensive backs, some tight ends, a quarterback and perhaps even a linebacker and running back.

I took a look at last year's recruiting class, which was the smallest since 2001.  Of the 37 that came in at the start of camp in 2005, only four played in a varsity game that are still on the team:

Shane Conlon (DL), 1 game, 1 tackle
Rocket Gadsden (RB), 6 games, 25 yards
Arkady Kurihine (LB), 8 games, 5 tackles
Scott Ruebush (P), 2 games, 2 punts (70 yards)

Even though I think around 15-or-so freshmen/transfers will play (and be key), I do think we have enough talent returning that all 22 of our starters (26 if you count kicker, punter, and two returnmen) will be returners. There's a chance a TE or DB will start, but certainly not for the McDaniel game. The newcomers are definitely needed for depth.

No, we both have court; Llama for a much more serious offense. :)

Welp, nine days until the ODAC kicks off, so lets get going with the sign ups for the 2006 ODAC Pick 'Em Contest.  If it's OK with everyone, I'll run it again.

To sign up, simply go to the ODAC pick 'em board (click here) and pick the first weeks winners.  No spreads, just pick winners.  I've added a national game of the week.

Let the games begin...

"Any BC fans want to go ahead and invite a W&L faithful to some Stone Station action before the big game?"

I'm game, only if Stone Station is a country club!! :D :D :D

Yeah, It's a country club alright.  A bunch of country folks hanging out before a football game counts as a country club right?

I can assure you that it's a lot better than the Lexington Country Club.  Better food and friendlier people!!!  Come on up!  Leave the Bow Tie and slip on some flip-flops!

You wouldn't happen to know my sister-in-law would you?  Cathy Coleman? She's a Graduate of the Mighty B.C. and now works for W&L. I don't know how she can sleep at night.  Ask her about the SkoalTrain.....she'll fill you in.
