let me change the first sentence to "in the last 5 years we havent had the runningback"

You need a bunch more Nolan Jeffries in many positions, but that isn't likely to happen.  He's off coaching football back home.  Now that was a football player and a nice, nice young man too.  Of course I think he's special because he's from my home town!!!

I had the privilege of playing with Nolan for two years. Class guy. Where is he coaching at now?
He's coaching in Luray.  He's in charge of the JV team, which means that it will be able to play rings around the varsity which is being coached by a guy who ran cross country and no I'm not kidding.  Nolan is really special.  He ought to be the head coach of the Varsity.  Boy would he put Luray back on the map.

About because of that we will have a refurbished dining hall, Eagles Nest and various other fixer-uppers that have been needed around campus.

Have to take of the needs before the wants.

I don't need them, and I doubt anyone who donated, need those upgrades either. But I need better and more restrooms at the football field.

Just like you needed the hot tub you got? :)

If the poker game is at your house, Hug, do we get to use the hot tub?  Actually there is a hot tub very close to Stone Station.  And the way you guys are going on.  Who remembers Jopson Field BEFORE the floods.  The place is a palace considering what we used to have.  We had rickety(sp) stands, they were awful.  We were on the river side, no room for anybody and very few people came anyway.  But I did.  People used to picnic on the hill behind the visitors stands.  Gosh, you youngsters just don't know what the rest of us had to put up with.  Now I do agree with Hug on one thing.  I will never have to go bad enough to go into one of those portapotties.  They remind me of cesspools on wheels.  We do need more restrooms.  But the concessions--that's pretty cosmetic.  The people in the pressbox don't get rained on like the rest of us 'cause there is a press box, which there surely wasn't before.  I think we should ask the chicken baron from across the B'H20 Exxon for $$$.  After all, his daughter and grandson are graduates of the school.  And we could get the chicken 1/2 price for the concession stands.  What do you think?

Ollinemom,

Not sure if you saw my reply to you on the ASC board so I will put it here too!

Can't make it, dadgum it.   :(   I am still responsible for running the high school stadiums in my school district on Friday nights.  However, I am going to watch my Roos take on Ralph's McMurry team on Saturday.  Thanks for thinking about me and maybe we can meet again later on !    ;)

Have some positive Karma for the great job you do for your school system and enjoy the game Saturday.  I think CNU will get stomped on.  At any rate you'll have a good game to watch and Ralph for company.  Sounds like good fun to me!!!  I'll be sitting on the lucky blanket at the top of the stadium watching my O-Liners play.  Sure hope it doesn't rain.  They made the National Team of the Week, which makes me one proud Olinemom!!!  One of them even came over after the game to make sure they were going to get their brownies on Monday.  Priceless!!

Good to hear from you!!  How could they drop Thiel when they won the game?  This I do not get.  I guess that's why I bake brownies and don't coach.   They don't let me vote either ;D.  Have a great season!!

Quote from: wrighthall220 on September 06, 2006, 03:46:08 PMHot damn!  That's what we need at BC.. for playoff games we should install hot tubs  along the hills!  :D
What's your plan when you don't make the playoffs?  I think they'd make lovely over-sized planters.  lol  You have to love your enthusiasm and God only knows you have some recent past history to back it up, but the rest of us aren't ready to concede the 2006 Championship just yet.  What do you say we play a few ODAC games first?  :)  Peace

Come on ... you know as well as we (BC fans) do that Guilford will go 10-0 this year.

How can you lose when you have such a stud at QB, depth at wide receiver and a solid offensive line?  I don't think I've ever heard of a team with that kind of fire power on offense, not be able to win the big ones during the regular season and have the opportunity to prove themselves in the playoffs.

Oh wait, Hampden-Sydney the last three years. :o

Show you can run the ball (3.4 yards a carry isn't going to do it) and play some defense (giving up 333 rushing yards a game isn't going to do it) and then you won't have to rely on Vogelbach each and every game.  Yes, he had a stellar game against Ferrum (who was ranked 112th in the nation last year against the pass) ... but can he do that nine more times?  Ehh...

Having said that, can Guilford and Washington & Lee beat Bridgewater this year?  Absolutely.  I'd be disappointed, but not shocked.  During our 35-game ODAC win streak, we've come very close to losing ... so one will eventually go the other way.
We know we aren't a balanced team.  We get it.  I'm just saying BC shouldn't ass/u/me they'll need hottubs for the playoffs.  lol  That's all.  BC will eventually lose, maybe not even this season, but when they do lose it'll be a tough fall for some folks.  You've had a great run, but please forgive me if I'm ready for it to be over.  I just want someone in the ODAC to win when they play BC, even if it's not Guilford.  It's time.

I know that's all you were saying, but I do believe the hot tub post(s) were jokes.  So your response to that was a tad on the serious side.

And I don't think anyone would be devistated if BC were to lose an ODAC game.  We've lost four regular season non-conference games since our 35-game ODAC streak began, and there have been another five regular season games that we only won by a score or less.  So like I said, BC won't be shocked if we lose an ODAC game this year.  It'll be different (clearly), but we won't fall far my friend.  Hopefully if we do lose, we'll still be 9-1 (or 8-2) and be considered for the playoffs.  If we don't make the playoffs, we have a ton of talent returning next season, so our program as a whole won't miss a beat.

You're right.. it was a joke... because some BC folks were getting bent out of shape over bathrooms.. ???

On a serious note.. W&L scares me because they have a great team this year (or so it seems)  and they ALWAYS (at least in recent years) play BC well.. GC won't scare me until they have a great TEAM.. they have a great passing O.. but where's the D?

I'm too serious?  I'm the one who kids around and tries to keep the peace on this board.  lol  Some of the BC fans just don't seem to get it, as evidenced by the Karma hit I took this morning.  Now I wish I had posted the message I wrote last night before I deleted it.  A few people make this board a little less fun than it could (and should) be ... and that's too bad.  You won't hear much from me any more.  If you guys want this to be like a one-dimensional radio station - all BC all the time - then you've got it and, frankly, that's a little boring.

See, I don't know if you're joking or not. :)

You posting or not is your choice, but it goes without saying that your presence adds a lot.  As I've mentioned before ... BC fans talking to BC fans gets a little boring - we do that every Saturday anyway!

I sure hope you're just kidding around and don't actually have your panties in a bunch.  And if you are being serious, then you're dead wrong.  There are plenty of BC fans who joke around on here more than you do (Hug, skoal, Llama, to name a few).  And who gives a rats behind when it comes to karma?  I haven't smited (or applauded, for that matter) someone in months.  Let it go man ... if you really are being serious.  This year in the ODAC will hopefully be the best and tightest it has ever been, so you better stick around!

What?  I don't think anyone claimed it had to be all BC all the time and you're upset over the Karma?  The Karma feature of this board is dumb, what does it prove?  There's BC posters here in the negative.. but they still post!  :D  Who here is making this board less fun?  I started the whole stadium discussion yesterday (one of a million that have been started here)  because I felt Cortland had an awesome stadium.. if anything it was a BC vs. BC discussion and my comments about the hot tubs were pointed towards another BC fan.. not the rest of the ODAC.  You took the comment wrong and got a little bent out of shape..even if your post was sarcastic to a degree.  It wouldn't be a shocker if BC were to lose to an ODAC team.. we've lost quite a few games over the past 6 years and some by HUGE margins.. 66-0 by MUC and then we were blown out of the playoffs last year.. so it wouldn't be a shocker.  Do we as BC fans hope the streak continues.. of course!  Some of us that post here were a part of the recent turn around and we have every right to take pride in what seems to be a new tradition.   Does that mean this has to be a BC only board no.  If I remember right it was a CUA and E&H board a few years ago and it was a "It's HSC's year board" for a while too.    It would be a shame to lose another GC fan.. but honestly your team has a lot of work to do before this board will be over run with GC fans.  It may happen.. but it hasn't yet.  In fact I would LOVE to see GC win the ODAC.. after all the years of taking a pounding (much like BC) it would be a great school and team to take over the reigns from BC.   But hey what do we (BC Fans) know.. we just want to make this a one dimensional board.  ???
