I think like it's been said before.. first week games are hard to judge.   We don't know how BC would do against a D2 team.. they do well against Hargrave which is full of bigger players but who knows.   I think if CUA puts up 35+ on McDaniel then we'll have a better gauge on how "big" the win was for BC.

I'm about 99% sure I'm going to drive to Danville on Saturday for the GC/AU game.  If any other Quaker fans are going, let me know!

Remember that Seton Hill is a D2 team that has only been in existence for 1 year. They are a team with just a handful of juniors and seniors, and an 0-2 record going into the McDaniel game. So its not like McDaniel was losing to a great team last week. BC might crush them similar to what they did against Shenandoah and MCD.
I think this weekend really will shed some light on how the season may play out before conference play begins. W&L and HSC will have a common opponent in Sewanee to judge, as will Catholic and Bridgewater and Bridgewater Guilford. Macon and Emory and Henry are out there on their own with unique schedules for the conference, so it might be harder to judge where they are in relation to others in the ODAC.

Im wish I could go to Danville this weekend but it's a long drive from Florida to Danville so I don't think that I will be able to make it to the game.

Didn't CUA beat McDaniel last year pretty bad?

It was a tight game between McDaniel and CUA last year, and Catholic won...until 1 official decided to put another second back on the clock so McDaniel could run one more play. Of course McDaniel scored to send it into overtime, where each team scored twice in 2 overtimes. McDaniel missed an extra point, but Catholic missed 2 of them to give McDaniel the win.

Yeah, I remember that.  I just looked it up - the official final was McD 37, CUA 36.

The Guilford radio guys do a pretty good job, so hopefully you can listen on the internet.  Go to Guilford's site and follow the links to http://www.sportsjuice.com/    It usually starts around 12:45 or 12:50 pm.

Hasanova,
Thanks for the info on listening to the game. I listened to it last weekend and it was pretty good. It was actually better than Methodist's version of it b/c theirs you could barely hear.

No problem.  I remember those days.   I also missed a lot of football games due to work and playing soccer.  I worked whatever hours I could at a builders' supply M-F, at a golf course every weekend during time I wasn't committed to soccer and tutored students in Math through the college on Wednesday nights.  I get tired just thinking about it.  lol  You do what you have to do.  Let me know where you'll be during Homecoming.  I'd like to meet you if we get the chance.

No problem.  Yeah, I also noticed the difference in the broadcasts.  Since I live locally, I wish it was still carried over the WGOS-AM airwaves.  They switched to a Spanish language format and, as far as I know, the broadcast is now only available via phone and the internet.  In years past, I would take a radio in the yard or garage and stay busy with a project.  Now I feel captive near the computer.  Maybe I just need longer speaker wires or a laptop with wireless internet service.  :)  I've been considering writing to President Chabotar and AD Marion Kirby to see if the games could be broadcast again over the campus radio station, WQFS-FM.  Why not?

Wow, This is my first year out of Guilford, I always thought that they did broadcast it on the school radio station. I mean that would only make sense to do. That school is kinda weird sometimes when it comes to stuff like that. I just always assumed those guys that were on the sidelines at the game were on the school station.

Well, the games used to be on WQFS (campus station), but WGOS is a commercial station from Thomasville.  They've done the broadcasts for at least ten years now.  Anyone on the sideline with a wireless microphone usually is a Guilford student, I think.  Josh Caray (son of Skip, grandson of Harry and brother of Chip) did it when he was a Guilford student, among others.  The guys in the booth are older guys who also do a lot of HS football on Friday nights.  The school is, indeed, kind of "weird" when it comes to stuff like that.  They've got set times for their programming and someone might get upset if you took three hours away from new age alternative rock programming sung in Mandarin Chinese with interjected comments and discussion by the music critics from NOW and PETA.  lol  Peace

Yeah, I tuned into WGOS because the website said they would be covering it. But I fully agree and thought of the same thing after leaving the first game vs Ferrum (knowing I prob wouldn't be able to make the MC game). WQFS is supposed to be one of the top college radio stations in the country... but no coverage of any of the games as far as I know. I know GC isn't a huge sports school but it'd be nice to have some representation. That'd be great if they actually decide to broadcast the games through WQFS.
