There is no way that Guilford will beat Bridgewater this year.  Mark my words!

I can play that game too, 'nova. :)
To what game are you referring?  All I did was read a post you made before you deleted it.  I didn't modify anything or copy anything.  What's up with what you just posted?  I didn't say it, so why is it under my handle?  In fact, I never saw it before anywhere.  What gives?  I really don't understand.  Peace

lol ... was just messing around, 'nova, that's all.

Nice job catching my post before I deleted it ... it was only on the board for a couple of minutes.

I'd like to know how Frostburg looks this year so far.

Gotta admit that a Tiger was pretty scary.. now I'm going to have nightmares about this!?!?!

:D

Wrighthall220,

Did you get permission to use 'Nova's portrait in your post?

'Nova,

Since the Quakers are a bunch of pacifists, wouldn't a Quaker cereal killer have to do it quietly?

As a matter of fact, he did not ask my permission.  lol  You should really use the latest version - the white hair is in dreadlocks and the black brimmed hat has been replaced with a crimson doo rag.  :)

Yes, a Quaker "cereal" killer does have to do it quietly.  Rice Krispies, for obvious reasons, are strictly verboten.  We just invite 10 or 12 people to a real Quaker meeting and, after an hour or so, if no one says anything, they start dropping like flies.  The carnage is unbelievable.  If they survive the first meeting, we put them in a hyperbaric chamber for a week, feed them nothing but granola bars and decaf coffee (produced, of course, with beans raised only on plantations that sign free trade/fair wage/no child labor agreements).  Then we take then back to a second meeting.  If they survive that, we set them free, give them a pair of Birkenstocks and allow them to sell tie-dyed T-shirts and grilled cheese sandwiches out of a van at Grateful Dead revival concerts.   :)

The Bridgewater folks would understand your non-violent methods.  The Brethren at Bridgewater have perfected the art of talking everyone to death. ;)  Of course there's plenty of free trade coffee to go around.  After we stuff them full of food at the potluck dinner, we bring them back for more talking.  I believe this would be the more vociferous manifestation of the Quaker experiance. ;D

Gotcha!  lol  I know.  I'm just messing with you, too.  PS You're right, the post wasn't there long.

Here's my official quote regarding the October 14 BC/GC game.  Ready? lol

"I'm quite hopeful that both teams will be unbeaten at the time of the game.   This in no way takes away from my respect for our opponents.  In the next three weeks, we have three very tough games - two on the road - against very worthy opponents.  We appear to be a good team this year and better than in previous seasons, but we have flaws and must play error-free ball to win any game.   BC's chances of being 5-0 are much better than ours and, on paper, they would currently have to be the favorite in a head-to-head match-up with GC.  The Guilford team has renewed confidence, but knows it must earn respect with results on the field.  Thankfully, the days of saying the outcome is decided before the Quakers even step on the field are over.  The players, students and fans expect a very tough opponent and we will give it our best shot.  This year, for the first time in a long time, I think we have a chance and that's all I can ask.  I'm sure all Eagle fans can respect that and would expect nothing less."

Hey, speaking of talking, well-said.  I have a black brimmed hat I no longer need (crimson doo rag, remember?).  Want to borrow it?  lol  By the way, Quakers believe in decision-making by consensus, not majority votes.  Talk about, well, talking!  Get 20 or 30 Quakers together and try to decide how to allocate the budget or even what to have for lunch!  If a few die from hunger, then it starts going a little faster.

Does E&H have a chance to get a W this weekend vs. NCW?
a chance sure. But I would probably give it something like 20-1 odds. Atleast thats my opinion.
I think E&H's odds are better than that.  I think it'll be close.

Speaking of football - what a concept - does anyone know how the QB efficiency rating is calculated or where to look it up?  I'm just curious what the formula is.

All you want to know and more:  http://football.stassen.com/pass-eff/
Thank you.

I threw in career approx avgs. for Vogelbach: 29-49, 368, 4 tds, 2 ints... just to see the NFL pass eff. equivalant. Came out to be a 92.90. To put it in perspective, that would rank him 4th in the NFL of QB's who started 16 games in 2005:

P. Manning: 104.1
C. Palmer: 101.1
M. Hasselbeck: 98.2
T. Brady: 92.3

(Rothlisberger would also be ranked ahead of him with an eff. of 98.6, but only started 12 games. Matt Schaub, 98.1, played in 16 games but only amassed 64 attempts)

Love my stats.  ;) haha

You can't compare NFL and NCAA QBR.  Different formulae (not to mention much harder to complete a pass in the NFL than in D3).

The site has the NFL formula too. No, I realize. It's much much much much much much much different. I just put that up to show the equivalent. I think his college rating was around a 141.

It's just for fun here people... to keep this board interesting.

Brownies for Film Day--Now there's a Slogan I can live with!!!:)  Go EAGLES!

Guilford is going to look like a JV team compared to what the Cougars have seen the last two weeks. The V-bach kid can sling it but I think Averett just out - athletes them everywhere else. The run is over - good story though! (can't wait to hear reactions to this  :) )
To all newbies - don't run your mouth until the team you're pulling for wins the big game. (please refer to Eh-You's karma for more details)
