Well, I wonder if the Generals might fall to 0-2.  The offense had no rhythm at all on Sat, the defense wasn't a whole lot better.

I still don't know if Sewanee is that good or if HSC is that bad.  It sounds like the Hawks solved the Tiger option offense and their defense put up 17 points.  Can the Generals solve the option as successfully?  Without any offensive punch it could be a long Sat afternoon.

What is up with HSC inability to stop the run?  I thought I saw they got a JMU 300# DT transfer to stop the run.  But I haven't seen his name in either press release.       Maybe it takes a while to adjust to the speed of DIII football? ;)

Quote from: religion_major on September 12, 2006, 04:17:15 PMThe Bridgewater folks would understand your non-violent methods.  The Brethren at Bridgewater have perfected the art of talking everyone to death. ;)  Of course there's plenty of free trade coffee to go around.  After we stuff them full of food at the potluck dinner, we bring them back for more talking.  I believe this would be the more vociferous manifestation of the Quaker experiance. ;D
Hey, speaking of talking, well-said.  I have a black brimmed hat I no longer need (crimson doo rag, remember?).  Want to borrow it?  lol  By the way, Quakers believe in decision-making by consensus, not majority votes.  Talk about, well, talking!  Get 20 or 30 Quakers together and try to decide how to allocate the budget or even what to have for lunch!  If a few die from hunger, then it starts going a little faster.

Sure, I'll borrow the black brimed hat. :D  See the Brethren make sure nobody starves because we eat before we start talking.  That's why all of the decisions are so well influenced by the "weighty brethren." ;D
Darn!  So, that's why the number of Quakers is declining!  Hold on a minute while I take some notes.  Let's see:  "eat first, then talk" and "wear more doo rags - let's the brain breathe."  Thanks!

Wow is right.  Did he think he wouldn't get caught?  It's a shame he had to do it himself.  I guess Jeff Gilooley was not available.  Things just keep getting weirder and weirder!

Can EHC win this weekend, or will they win this weekend?  Which question is more appropriate?  Certainly we saw in the opening game that this team is greatly improved from last year, but they need to cut down on the mental mistakes (i.e. two fumbles in scoring range, blocked punt that lead to a TD).  The secondary and the Oline are still the biggest concerns for the Wasps, but hopefully Monty will get the kinks worked out for this weekend.  And much like Averett v. Guilford, while NCWC isn't Marietta, they certainly aren't a team to take for granted.
I think the Wasps can win, but they're 1-10 in their last eleven games so I think you have to have some guarded optimism.  Good luck!

The things that must go through kickers heads as they stand around for the majority of practice!  :D ;)

A close friend of the Rodriguez family has emailed me the details over the last day or so ... I'm waiting on consent from the Rodriguez family to post information on my web site about it.

At this time, from what I've been told, they wish that it not be public knowledge.  Might want to double check with Carlos before you post anything else.

I thought that first game on the road against 11 starters and 4 more 2nd teamers would be a tough ticket for them and I was right but as you know the most improvement will be showed from game 1 to game 2 so maybe.......Those bow ties can surprize. Nice well dressed english speaking women up there to.  ;)

Shoot ... had I known he was going to do a write up about his experience, I would have hooked him up with the leaders of Stone Station (John Coleman, Bo Morris, etc.).  My bad guys ... didn't mean to take the credit. :)

Scott - I do have pictures for you.  I'll email them tonight.  The best one is when Bowman caught a pass and you see Ricca in the background.

What happened to W&L's offense?
I thought they were suppose to be good and they have always been good in the years past because they always play good assignment football. Which i'm sure they still are doing but it isn't as explosive as I thought it would be.

Don Hansen posted his picks this week, and he thinks the following games will be blowouts;

N.C. Wesleyan 35, Emory & Henry 7
Guilford 42, Averett 7
Bridgewater 42, Ferrum 14

I highly doubt any of those will happen.  No way BC scores 42 with Ferrum running the ball all game, and I'm pretty sure Averett's offense will score more than seven points.  And since when is NCW a 28-point favorite over a Division III opponent?  Since they've started football, their biggest win was by 16 points over Maryville (Tenn.).

For the ODAC's sake, I sure hope E&H isn't that bad.
