let me ammend the first sentence, in my writing I completely left out GC from the teams that makes me feel better. It is really good to see GC and CUA playing good. GOOD LUCK to all

This is the weekend for EH. Good Luck to all other ODAC schools as I beleive it should be a good weekend for most.

I guess that doesn't include W&L.   :o :o :o :o

WLU78,

I think your boys will have a good game today.  I picked them over Sewanee.  But what do I know, I am just a Bridgewater grad.  I would not have been accepted to Sewanee or W & L.  I'm funnin' with ya, but I am also being truthful.

pakownr97, the real question is could you get invited to join Bushwood C.C. ?

and if you were to be invited to join, would you? ::) ::) ::)

Are you good at any "country club" sports?

Congrats to W&L.. knock off the rust for the ODAC games!

Ummm...wow.  I'm not surprised that the winner if the Guilford/Averett game scored a lot, but I didn't expect Averett to be the one to put up 54.

Averett 54

Greatest game I ever heard on the radio... This game had me on the edge of my seat with tears in my eyes. Bridgewater's Defense Took a great bend but didn't break. I surprised that they pass the ball on the goaline after rushing for over 500 yards. It wasn't a pretty game but congrats to BC for finding a way to win... I'm kicking myself for not driving 5 hours because the game would've been worth every minute. ;D

Ferrum 27

P.S. - I told Desmond Jalloh this summer that he had a chance to make or break the bridgewater football team.

And he is making the team better by stepping up.

Congrats Jalloh on making the greatest play of your life.. so far.. ;D

Does the "Club" serve Tickle Pink?

Is bowling a Country Club sport?

EndzoneKing6,

I share your sentiments.  I listened to the second half on the BC web link.  Wow!  I am almost always an optimist about Coach Clark's team, but I have to admit, I thought Ferrum was going to pull it out in the fourth quarter.  Then 4th down and inches in OT when they had almost 500 yards rushing.  But the DEE held and squeaked out a W we probably did not deserve.

To be honest, I am very bitter that I could not make this game.  I am very loyal to my career, but the job we worked on today should have been completed weeks ago, if we had put in the hours required when needed.  My wife and daughter were planning on making the trip to Ferrum from MD with me to see the game.  We missed a heck of a game for undue reasons.

Congrats Eagles on a great win!  I will be there next week no matter what, but I hope its NOT as good a game as this game.

Congrats to E&H and W&L on your wins!  Great wins by both!

GC.. I'm a little disappointed... I expected more but take the loss and learn from it..

BC great win,  a great game to listen to.. D you pulled it out when needed!

Great kick..41 yards to win the game in OT.. very cool moment as was the stand at the 1 by the BC D.

Keep it up and do not relax this week even if you are playing a 1st year program!

Trenches

Just walked in...
Reaction to the GC/AU game:
GC did it to themselves. AU came to play but GC did it to themselves.

Not sure of the final stats but vogelbach had 348 and 4 tds, barnette had 8 rec, vaughn had 6-166... all in the first half.

AU came to play but GC made mistake after mistake. AU scored on D and ST (I think twice), plus another return to the 5. most of AU's score came on a short field. Vogs threw 4 ints. 2 of which he tried to force, 1 he was throwing up at the end to try to make something happen.

a 28-28 halftime score. GC came out and looked like a completely different team in the second half. Questionable calls (2pt cv?? kick to middle of field on short kickoff).Passes all over the place. Letting 3rd and 4th down conversions. letting draws and screens go for big plays. The was AU's MO all day. GC let up big plays. Big returns, runs broken for long scores, screen for a long run. All together an ugly game, esp. the second half.

A coach once told me that "there will be 5 'big plays' in the game and whoever makes more, will win." GC lost that battle. No real other way to put it.

I looked at the BC game stats...Ferrum had the ball 2/3 of the time!  A great ball control strategy for the 0-2 team...they deserve better, but glad the Eagles pulled it out.

I was there and I'll tell you what, a great game was played by Ferrum.  They smoked us from start to finish.  I really believe the better team (today) lost.  We got kicked off the ball and how come no one can tell me how to contain the QB when they are running veer option?  It's not rocket science.  Someone Key the QB and let the other LB's fill.  CB's come up once they have crossed the line.  Overall, our stats got beat to crap but we are 3-0 and I guess that is the bottom line.  LaGrange next, HSC, and then a week off.  I guess 5-0 coming of a bye week isn't bad.  Defense better Knuckle up.

I will give my Man Craig Smith Hat's Off.  Stone Cold Solid on two/three runs up the middle in OT.  Stood them up!  Sweet Deal!  I'm down with 25.

Endzoneking6  When are we going to see you at a game?  You called it right about Des!!  He was everywhere.  He was always the last man between Pitts and the goal line.  He had a superb game.  But we need to have  someone--a LB-- to key on the QB to stop that kind of play!!
That goal line stand was incredible.  I saw it and didn't believe it.  The D didn't break.  Craig plugged the middle like concrete.  From your last comment, was Des the one who knocked the ball away on the pass.  I'm too short and all I could see was the hand making contact with the ball.  But that ball going awry was great!!!During a lot of the game, my heart was in my toes.  That Jermaine Pitts is a very gifted athlete.  He can fake with the best of them and then speed?  he's got it to spare.  Thanks goodness Des was there to haul him down!  Looking forward to seeing YOU SOON!!!!!!!!!
