I know I've been silent lately, but I can't hold it in any longer.  Although the Wasps have made tremendous strides this year, its obvious Montgomery isn't the right man for the job.  I know all of this is contrary to what I said at the beginning of the year, but that's life.  Sometimes you have to make retractions.  This team has too much talent to be 2-3 and IMHO yesterday should've been a victory.  Unfortunately the coaches made some poor decisions offensively and defensively (i.e. whatever the hell the protection was that got Woods sacked at the end of the game, and blown calls on D that let HSC back in the game).  Why does Monty insist on running the ball when he has a great QB and a corps of great receivers? I don't think we'll ever know.  But the answer is probably similar to why Emory couldn't stop the pass late in the game.  Both teams played a physical game, but it shouldn't have been close.  Emory in the first half and Emory in the second half were two different teams.

this is his 2nd year? he may not have the players yet. and i'm sure he studies the opponents' film a whole lot more than you do. give him time. i do remember bridgewater going 0-10 in coach clark's 4th or 5th year at bridgewater. i believe he may have been the right man for the job

trenches. good answer. your guys are on the up

EHC faithful,

From what I was told, Monty isn't a big fan of Wacker and the way he did things.  So if EHC's most experienced, and perhaps best, players were recruited by Wacker and played a year or two under him, then that might be the cause of the Wasps performance the last 15 games.  Sure, 2-13 isn't good, but when you have players who know the current head coach can't wait to replace them with his own kids, that'll create problems, and 2-13 makes a lot more sense.

If Monty is all he has been cracked up to be, wait until 2008.  You'll see E&H back in the ODAC hunt soon enough.

Well its finally Guilford week! I hope all you BC folk enjoyed the fall break / washout of a weekend. The football gods shined on BC & Guilford this weekend and literally rained on everyone else. Great planning for the bye week.
I took alittle vacation over to the USAC board this weekend and boy was it fun. It was like I had never left from the 2002-2004 seasons. ;D

Looking forward to meeting Hasanova and possibly Trenches this weekend in your backyard. I hope you guys like to tailgate because Stone Station is planning an appearance if we can get a spot (hint, hint Hasanova). Not sure of the menu yet but we will come up with something. I hope to be there quite early on Saturday morning.

Early prediction: The first team to reach 3 turnovers will LOSE. Now which team that is I have yet to determine. :)

Go Eagles!

Bridgewater is #8 in the d3football.com poll this week. BC moves ahead of Rowan and Hardin Simmons but one spot behind UMHB.

Llamaguy

I didn't realize Hardin-Simmons had Darth Vader playing on their team. Thats one imposing looking dude! :o

Hey llamaguy.  I'm looking forward to meeting you and the other folks as well.  I had to get my football fix by going to the Panthers 20-12 win over the Browns in Charlotte today.  :)  Great seats - row 4 about two yards in from the Panther sideline at a corner of the south endzone!  Keyshawn Johnson scored a TD in my endzone and Steve Smith dropped one about 30 feet in front of me.  Rain stopped just before kickoff, so it was a good day!

Since the GC students are on fall break this weekend, I really don't think you'll have any trouble finding a place to park for Stone Station - especially if you come early.  I recommend the parking area behind English Hall and Hege-Cox Hall.  They're near the entrance to Armfield Stadium and across the parking lot from the left field line at McBane baseball field.  You can back in and set up on the grass.  It's a nice flat area with plenty of room.  I'll send you my cell number - if you have any trouble let me know and I'll help set you up with a space.  If all else fails, I'll give you my pass for a Quaker Club parking spot right behind the press box.

I hope it's a great game!  Turnovers - I assume you're not talking about the apple variety.  lol  I agree.  The Quakers have got to cut down on the interceptions (and fumbles!).  Go Quakers!

Looks like kid, kid's girl and kid's pooch will be making the trip down to Greensboro on Friday evening.  We'll be there early on Saturday to help get Stone Station going.

Hasa, let me know (if you know) of a couple dog-friendly hotels in the area.

I hear ya Hasa. That is what has me perplexed about this game. Has Guilford already used up all there turnovers and will be turnover free while BC has been relatively proficient in the catagory. But as they say; "on any given Saturday!" :-\  I see this game setting up alot like Hanover 2005. The first team not to score on every possesion may be the team to lose. ;)
As far as tailgating, I am familiar with where you are talking about. I set up in the grass there in 2004. I'm sure we will get a spot but you need to make sure your crew at Guilford come over and partake of the Stone Station fair. Its not just a BC tailgate, its a D3 tailgate! :o

Kid,
There may be a BC procession to Greensboro on Friday. I too at this point plan on heading down Friday afternoon. I think the one and only tailgating master Hal is coming down Friday too. There is also a crew coming up from South Carolina as well. We may have quite a group there early. :)

And here is another little photo ditty: Time for a chinstrap that works ! ;D

kid, try Days Inn, LaQuinta, Motel6 and AmeriSuites.  I think all accept pets and are reasonably close.  If you do a google search under "pet friendly hotels" I think hotels.com and priceline.com will both let you screen some searches by city.  Guilford's zip, by the way is 27410, but 27407, 27409 and others are all close by too.  If you want to ask me about a location you see as a possibility, I'll give you some feedback on location and the surrounding area (there are some areas you might not want to be.)  I'll check around some Monday.

lol  Hug, all I meant was there are some areas your tires might be missing the next morning!  Greensboro is a fairly big city and the types of accommodations run the gamut from five stars to negative five stars.  :)  If you guys want to know anything about things to do Friday night or Saturday, let me know.  Have a safe trip.  Peace

llamaguy - I emailed some folks involved with game day activities at Guilford and told them Stone Station was coming early Saturday morning.  This should help some with your set-up.  Good luck!
