Actually most cotillions are held around the Christmas break long after the ODAC teams have been eliminated from the play-offs.
Interesting.  In that case, W&L could have historically held them by Columbus Day.
Good one.    Hasa you should know that we collect our hardware in sports where one wears white.    BTW, why would a Quaker worry about cotillion, y'all aren't allowed to dance with girls are you?
Yep, I'll have to give W&L credit there, especially in tennis.  It's really a shame the NCAA does not sponsor intercollegiate croquet.  Does that explain why trophies are rarely won after Labor Day?  :)

Oh, Quakers are allowed to dance.  In fact, we usually pick up a lot of girls outside cotillions after they get bored, fib to their escorts about headaches and say they need to go home.  :)

After you have taken off your valet jackets?

Been away from the board for a while, but just scrolled down some posts, and I've got to say I'm pretty disappointed that such a prentious voice has been the only General speaking. I'm all for some trash talking, and have done so in the past on this board. However, while I understand the value of the eduation I received in Lexington, I think the modesty and class that was instilled throughout my four years was somehow avoided by WLU78.

But back to the football, I still speak to many of the players frequently, and they're ready for a showdown this weekend. Unfortunately, I have to stay on the West Coast this weekend, but was able to catch the Catholic game in DC several weeks ago....The Generals D is nasty, and I see them putting lot of pressure on Vogelbach forcing him to make some ill-advised throws.

The Generals secondary continues to improve, and Snoddy will be able to shut down Barnette, as he did fairly well against Drew Smith last week, and leads the conference with 5 picks. The offense has started to get back on track as freshman QB R.J. Varner continues to get his feet wet, but the Generals still have not been able to throw the ball downfield as in years past.

Prediction:

W and L        31
Guilford         17

Washington and Lee puts its five-game winning streak on the line against Guilford.

By Mark Berman - Roanoke Times

Washington and Lee could be without its top two tailbacks for Saturday's important home game with Guilford.

Coach Frank Miriello said Wednesday that starting tailback Stuart Sitterson is doubtful with a bruised shin, and backup Tom Pacicco is doubtful with a sprained ankle.

Both were hurt in last weekend's win over Hampden-Sydney. Sitterson leads the Generals (5-1, 3-0 ODAC) in rushing yards (320) and catches (26).

Jordan Campbell, a junior without a carry this season, will start if Sitterson and Pacicco are sidelined.

Miriello said V-back Colton Ward, who suffered a strained hamstring last weekend, is only 75 percent healed but will play Saturday.

Exactly.  Thank goodness we're the same size, so please thank your sister for loaning me yours.  By the way, I had the coat cleaned before I wore it.  It smells a lot better now, but I suggest you don't leave any more brie wrappers in the pockets.  :)

Forma80 - I hope the Generals and the Quakers will be at full strength.  I never like to see big games decided by injuries.  Check my post about the video web cast.  Perhaps you can still see the game on the internet this weekend even though you're on the west coast.  Enjoy the game!

Why don't we swap weekends with Guilford?  We play W&L and Guilford play Emory & Henry?

Interesting proposal.  All in favor say aye!  lol

Hasa, thanks for your help in doubling my post count.  I can almost feel the Karma Kontrol thingy.

Forma, I think I did miss that instruction on modesty and class, I must have been in Red Square with a cup of grain punch in one hand and a Sweet Briar beauty in the other listening to the Tams.  Oh well, maybe they offer a remedial opportunity at the alumni college functions. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Llamaguy

Ney! I want W&L at full strength next weekend when they roll into Jopson. Hasanova you'all can beat them this week, just don't hurt them so there are no excuses come October 28th. ;)

I'll give the W&L D 3 turnovers. But to say Barnette will be shut down by Snoddy is as out on a limb as you get. I commend him on his effort against Drew Smith, but with all due respect, Smith is not Barnette. Holding GC to 17 points would be a feat in itself, let alone "shutting down" Chris.

Interesting article kid. Could have a huge impact on the ODAC. "Doubtful" listings are always interesting. Especially at the college level. Especially in a game of this magnitude.

I had GC in a close one... 1.5 pt spread. Sitterson out gives GC a 6.5 pt spread. Pacicco out, 7.5 pts. Thats just my take.
So my prediction (Sitterson out, Pacicco in):
    GC - 27
     W&L - 20

You're welcome.  The USA and d3football are a democracy, so I wouldn't want to disenfranchise a red-state, white-wearing, blue-blood such as yourself.  :)   Regarding the dismissed modesty and class "class," perhaps you sent a man servant in your stead.  Visually, I'm seeing something similar to the whipping boy surrogates for 18th century European princes.   Just a thought.  :)

Sorry EH Dad. It's not in your favor. I will say the the E&H D has played better then I thought they would thus far, but BC is coming out strong this week. I'd put a spread somewhere around 17.5 on the game but i'd predict something closer to a 35-10 BC win.
I wouldn't be surprised to see E&H keep it closer to a 17 point game, but couldn't see it being much closer then that.
       BC - 35
        E&H - 10
