Thanks Ron. My point with the true journalism comment was that you state your point and leave it at that. Pat seems to like to get the last jab in. If that stuff is frowned upon then why do the "conductors" continue to practice it. Matt told Keith he was done talking about it then Pat chimed in to further incite the arguement. I believe it was Keith who called Matt's site " A rah,rah site" and infered this one was more professional. Yes I too appreciate their dedication to this site, I have a side business of my own that I have to put time into, but it is a labor of love. When my character is questioned when I do know more about the ineligible player incident than Mr Coleman  then I do take offense to that. Keith and Pat acted like I was some rookie poster trying to stirup trouble so I'm simply defending myself on that point. I just wanted answers about the ineligible player from the ODAC, not necessarily D3football.com.

Personally my hope is for a fiveway tie for the ODAC and two BC blowouts in the next 2 weeks. I have already made my playoff plans and know that the best thing for our program may be to go 8-2 and come back hungrier next year. BC showed yesterday they are still the King of the ODAC, just maybe not the playoff representative this year. ;)

*** Now I'll go out and enjoy that fall weather you discussed   ;D

With luck, you and I will get together at the basketball game in January - hope so!

Hasa, I enjoyed the game quite a bit, even though we lost.  Your QB is some kind of athlete.

I'm planning to get down there for the hoops game!

Can we all agree that BC is not as strong this year as they have been the past six years.

Clark has built a nice program at BC. It's nice to feel like you are suppose to win. I think it starts to hurt more when you do lose but that's football. E&H last several years were no fun.

Bridgewater has helped the ODAC with the deep playoff runs.

E&H still has more ODAC titles and ODAC wins than any other ODAC member

The future of the conference looks bright.

The BBall game is on my calendar.  I look forward to it.  Hopefully, Guilford football can play well the next two weeks and finish strong!

Well I guess I am glad I left my feelings in the car. I have not seen this type of blood in the water.....well......ever.

IF the GC-Q boys had a "bad one" in there it was not intentional. Their egalitarian sensibilites would not allow it. (no offense Hasa). I would believe the player in question ran on the field before I believed GC-Q allowed this to happen. I've been on the campus too much to believe it.

But as with any political race the bad comes out at the end when it influences the most, when the race is superbly close.

Close is in frags and horse shoes........
No offense taken.  In fact, I'm rather proud of Guilford's traditions and mores.  In my opinion, you have to love a place that puts honor, honesty and egalitarianism on a pedestal.  abnrgr and I know this already, but this is a college that believes in equality so much it does not sponsor fraternities and sororities, has a campus honor code and everyone is on a first name basis, including Dr. Chabotar, the college president, who is known to everyone simply as Kent.  Peace

Hasa
I was complimenting GC-Q....as painful as it was. :)

I still have a bone or 2 with a couple from the old staff but..........

There is still a playoff chance if all the planets are lined up.

How is Vogie. Is he hurt?

Somebody mentioned a QB got injured yesterday in the ODAC. Who lost a QB and is he he alright for next year?

Don't automatically assume you know more than me on this subject. I just don't have anything on the record, same as you. That stops me from discussing the matter.

This will probably be interpreted as getting the last jab in. Sorry. Just trying to set the record straight. The reality is, I am still a Division III fan, like the rest of you, and I am certainly not going to back off from something I enjoy, which is mixing it up on the message boards with other fans.

Wow! This board is like a soap opera...or like a little Kids show... I can't really decide with the incessant whining.

EHCPride,
Yes, you scooped us. As posted a day or two after the GC/BC game.

BCers probably will agree with you on this one. But W&L may not believe it.

'nova,

Everyone is on a first name basis. You call the President of the college Kent. I'm kinda creeped out by that. Do you guys not believe in giving respect to those who deserve it.  Egalitarianism - I'm not sure what that means, so I'll just assume it means ineligible cause A) thats what it sounds like to me and b) that's all I can think of when someone mentions Guilford.

Man this must be a bigger story than first thought if you know about it and can't speak about it , "on the record". It isn't like it is Watergate or something, right?  ;) And don't tell me you don't ever speak about any story until you have ALL the fact because that would be ludicrist. ;D

Wow...

I'm coming late to As the World Turns...

A few thoughts...

1.  Maybe people just aren't reading my column any longer...I said it last week and the numbers speak for themselves...before a win over Washington & Lee.

"Bridgewater's postseason chances are slim.
Pool C chances remain for the Eagles if they do run the table but don't luck out with other upsets, and a long history of postseason appearances will help their chances in the deep recesses of the selection committee. But that will only get them so far. A weak non-conference slate with their opponents holding a record of 6-22 will throw them way down the Quality of Wins Index, a major factor in determining playoff bids."

When you look at the history of who gets in and who doesn't, the committee is relatively black and white, which makes predicting the field somewhat straight-forward.  D3football bracketologists PCole and GMann, with some input from a few others, have done a heck of a job in the past few years as this method has been perfected.  Typically we miss on just one team, MAYBE two...given where BC is in the QOWI, they are pretty far down the list.

2.  All that being said - as has been noted - they HAVE a chance.  It's just one that no punter would want to bet on with a chance of winning.

3.  If anyone thinks that what D3football.com says about the ineligible player issue is going to change or alter the outcome, they are mistaken.  If no action is taken, is there anything more to report?  I personally think there isn't.  This becomes an issue when there is an amendment to something - records, etc.  For now, I don't think there is an issue.

4.  Matt made an astute point about the W&L depth chart.  They know they aren't a deep team, and to be honest, they don't care.  They are who they are.  They won't have a huge roster...in fact, their roster this year is their biggest in HISTORY, according to my interviews with Miriello this preseason.  They are very Centennial in their approach to sports - success is just an added bonus to the benefits of playing the game.

5.  I think Emory & Henry is getting better as Monty smells the playoffs, familiar territory for the MUC-er.

I think when dealing with issues of eligibility and the like it's better to be safe than sorry.

Now, now everyone.  Let's all sing along with Timone and Pumbaa.

"Oh can you feel the love tonight?"

Ahhhh, isn't that better?

While you boys get this thing straightened out, I will have to miss out.
Darn it, I have to go to Orlando tomorrow.  Sure wish I could stay here with you love birds.

Kid, Pat, Llama and Kmack, big group hug.

Ahhhh, isn't that better?

Oh, one more thing.  Llama mentioned Ludacris.  My son listens to that crap.  I am too old for that.  I listen to Elton John.  Didn't he sing

"Oh can you feel the love tonight?"

Hugs and Kisses,

Pakownr
