Just curious...

Other than W&L do any other ODAC schools allow free admission into games?

Go Gennies!

Years ago H-SC used to charge per person when you entered the area around Fulton Field.  There was no fence, just a roped off area. People either just walked under the rope or stood behind it and watched the game from outside. Actually, many of the tailgaters still stand outside the actual stadium area. These days they charge $5 per car as you enter campus. Just found out from my H-SC source that all the $ raised goes to the H-S Fire Dept. There is one main road through campus and only two points that have to be monitored to do this. It works really well. It is a bargain that is hard to beat. You can park and tailgate within 100 yards or less of the field. You can walk to the field right at gametime and get a good seat or spot on the hill. Or if you prefer, you can walk the sidelines. My VT and UVA friends look at me like I am nuts but I'll take this any day over being packed like a sardine into a 60k plus seat stadium.
H-SC does not charge for basketball.

I remember those days (daze) very well. ;D

Allsky7, do you know the current H-S policy for their games?  Planning to make the trip to Death Valley on Saturday.

I am pretty much in the know on things H-SC. If I don't know the answer, I have a hotline to an insider.  ;D

I always have wondered why W&L didn't charge. They have a gated stadium, it would be easy enough to charge.  I have two theories.

1) W&L administration knows football is an afterthought on Saturday afternoons. By not charging, some socialites may wonder over to see what others are whering to the event.

2) W&L Alum can't afford to buy tickets to the football games.

Any thoughts?

1. Maybe, but afternoon attire is kinda generic. I mean tweed is tweed.

2. It's not the price of the tickets, it's the tax problems they create, I mean are they a charitable donation or a gift?

It is just easier to not charge admission.

Congrats on the ODAC championship, WLU78.  Go Generals.  Represent the ODAC conference well!!

Good question.  Last year we had a starting linebacker dismissed going into the playoffs due to a conflict with a coach.  We had another offensive starter leave the team earlier this season for unspecified reasons.  I don't know anything about this situation with Knight, but it's kind of a concerning pattern.

Wasn't Josh Knight on the E&H roster last year?  Only kidding!  :)

It was a recurrent theme this year and may have contributed to some of our inconsistencies. I hate it for Josh but it may help BC in the long run.  Seth Little a freshman started and got some ingame experience that will only make him better as a starter in 2007. ;)

Lloyd Christmas: What are the chances of a guy like you and a girl like me...ending up together?
Mary Swanson: Not good.
Lloyd Christmas: You mean not good like one out of a hundred?
Mary Swanson: I'd say more like one in a million.
[a long sad pause]
Lloyd Christmas: So you're telling me there's a chance? Yeah! I read ya.

The above is an example of Bridgewater's chances to be invited to the D3 Playoffs.  So you're telling me there's a chance? Yeah, I read ya.

The sad fact is, Bridgewater will not need to be packing any Samsonite for the playoffs this year. :-\
